Since the introduction of Reputation Points, Shasha abandoned her work as an assassin. After all, she had to roam around at night looking for targets to earn Reputation Points.
Reputation Points are earned through gaining the admiration and worship of others; if people don't even know you exist, it doesn't count towards your Reputation Points. Alternatively, you can earn them by doing beneficial things for the public.
For example, last time she helped capture four notorious criminals, preventing significant economic losses and saving lives.
Although crime is rampant in New York, it is still a prosperous area with relatively better public safety compared to other places. Therefore, unless necessary, Shasha generally avoids long-term surveillance in New York and prefers to head to high-crime areas like Miami.
Within a week, the title of "King of Hell" gradually became well-known among the public. For those yearning for heroes, having a Guardian of the Night like her was indeed something to celebrate.
Unbeknownst to her, she completed Side Quest Three; however, it seemed that the main storyline had not yet been marked as complete. Along with the completion of Main Quest Three, she earned 1000 Energy Points and a mid-level extraction reward, making her quite wealthy now.
However, Shasha wasn't in a hurry to extract new abilities since her current skills were sufficient.
In fact, Shasha had her eyes set on the Ability Upgrade Scroll in the Prestige Shop, which could be exchanged for 5000 Reputation Points. The shop refreshes approximately every month, meaning she needed to accumulate 5000 Reputation Points within that timeframe.
This was undoubtedly a daunting yet necessary task, especially since she was unsure if the scroll would still be available later.
Currently, Shasha had accumulated 500 Reputation Points but still needed to earn another 4500. The thought made her head ache; she wished for a major case to occur but feared that the public would remain safe and sound.
Perhaps moved by Shasha's sincerity, an opportunity to earn Reputation Points arose.
"I can't believe how she managed to do it; after all, their security system is the most advanced in the country."
"Counting this one, it's already the first famous painting stolen; this doesn't even include those jewels."
"No one knows her true identity; she is like the infamous thief known as the Spirit Cat who appeared twenty years ago."
The internet is a wonderful thing, providing the latest information that even newspapers cannot offer. Of course, some things may be mere rumors, but there is often a kernel of truth behind them.
Currently, people are discussing the most famous thief of recent times.
One famous painting and countless valuable jewels—if one were to tally up everything she has stolen so far, it would amount to at least one billion dollars. That is no small figure.
No matter how meticulous the planning or how comprehensive the security system, nothing seems to stop her. Her nickname is the Black Cat.
Upon reading this, Shasha smiled. The Marvel universe indeed has its charm; every character shares common traits. Take Catwoman from DC and Black Cat from Marvel, for instance—they have nearly identical backgrounds and exceptional thieving skills, yet both possess a strong sense of justice.
However, that is not the main point. The main point is that Shasha knows exactly who this Black Cat is, and finding her is not a difficult task.
Felicia Hardy, a sophomore at Yale University, appears to be a quiet girl with excellent academic performance. Yet no one knows that she is the notorious thief Black Cat, causing headaches for countless wealthy individuals and law enforcement officers.
Felicia's journey to becoming a thief has been quite tumultuous.
Her father's arrest and imprisonment, along with her boyfriend's failed attempt on her life, led to a drastic change in Felicia's personality. By chance, she discovered her father's diary and learned about his true identity. From that moment on, she began to train obsessively and study the thieving techniques outlined in the diary. However, when she finally honed her skills and sought revenge on her ex-boyfriend, she found out he had died in a car accident. By the time she donned the Black Cat costume in an attempt to rescue her father from prison, she discovered he had already passed away.
Thus, Felicia staged her own death and chose to live in darkness as Black Cat.
That night marked Felicia's first official heist; her previous nineteen successes had instilled confidence in her abilities.
This time, the target was an Egyptian Ancient Manuscript located in the New York Museum, a piece of great collectible value. The black market had offered a staggering 100 million dollars for it, and without a doubt, she was intrigued enough to take action.
Felicia had a habit of notifying others whenever she planned to steal something, as if she feared that no one would know she was coming. Thus, early on, police forces were deployed inside and outside the museum, even sending helicopters to patrol the skies.
However, for Felicia, these measures were merely decorations. She stood on the rooftop of a building 100 meters away from the museum, using binoculars to observe the police's arrangements. After a moment, a mocking smile curled her crimson lips.
"Is this all they think will stop me? After so many times, they still haven't learned."
With a chuckle, she lowered the binoculars and pulled out a specially designed Grappling Gun from her backpack. Its range exceeded 100 meters, and the steel cable was so thin it appeared almost transparent.
Waiting for the right moment, Felicia fired the grappling hook just as the helicopter turned around. She secured one end with a special technique and tested its stability before sliding directly from the rooftop toward the museum.
Upon landing, she swiftly retracted the Grappling Gun just as the helicopter made another turn. By then, she had already concealed herself on the museum's rooftop.
Just as Felicia planned to descend from her hiding spot, the rooftop door suddenly swung open. She quickly ducked aside to hide as two uniformed police officers appeared, smoking cigarettes and seemingly taking a break from their duties.
"Do you think she'll come tonight? It's already two in the morning."
"This is your first time on a mission regarding her. She never cares about timing; by the time you're done chatting with me, who knows what might have vanished."
"Is she really that incredible?"
The two men discussed Felicia while unaware that the door they left ajar had become her entrance into the interior. Just as they had said, she had reached the location where the Ancient Manuscript was stored.
Looking at the vault door in front of her, Felicia couldn't help but sneer, "Do you really think this will stump me?"
She pulled out a bag containing a special powder from her waist pouch and gently blew it towards the button, quickly leaving four fingerprints.
Pressing the button, the vault door opened, and Felicia walked in with an air of confidence.
Meanwhile, the police outside were unaware that the heavily guarded vault had been breached, as the surveillance footage showed no one entering the museum.
The moment Felicia stepped onto the stage with the Ancient Manuscript in hand, she once again toyed with those foolish individuals.
But just as she was packing up to leave, a mocking voice came from behind her, "You don't really think you're safe now, do you?"
The voice sent chills down Felicia's spine as Huo Ran turned around.
