As Xiao Qiang and the others successfully arrived at the Base Floor Room, a deep, resonant male voice echoed in the dimly lit, lavishly equipped basement: “Sixth Generation Nanoparticle Tracking Analyzer positioning.” 0

The command was issued by a tall man with a bushy beard. Following his further operations, an electronic voice simulation of a female voice replied crisply, “Positioning complete.” Then, multiple images appeared on the surrounding screens, showing Xiao Qiang and his team arriving on the isolated island and being attacked by the Living Dead. 0

In front of the screens stood several middle-aged men and women dressed in white uniforms, each with a Crystal display number on their wrists. They watched intently as various performances of the experimental subjects unfolded on the screen. 0

A slightly younger man wearing glasses, temporarily named Mr. T, pushed up his glasses frame habitually and looked seriously at the bearded man, questioning lightly, “Subject 1’s behavior is suspicious. This isn’t the result you wanted, is it, Professor R?” 0

Professor R smirked slightly, a terrifying glint flashing in his eyes as he downplayed the concern. “Of course not. What I need is detailed data regarding the Undead Warriors and the Sodium Medical Robots.” 0

“Professor, are you sure the subjects can find this set of data?” Another staff member, Mr. D, shifted his gaze from the frozen screen to Professor R, asking with some confusion. 0

“Absolutely,” Professor R replied confidently, tapping his fingers on the table in an unmistakable tone. 0

Another staff member, Mr. C, who had been silently observing with a cold demeanor, felt disdain at Professor R ’s authoritative words. He pointed at the screen where the Living Dead were attacking the subjects and changed the topic. “Seeing these scum is really frustrating.” 0

“Frustrating? Without these configurations, how would we know about the positioning of the Nano Tracker in their brains and their potential abilities?” spoke Professor R ’s proud disciple, one of his most loyal followers. 0

Ms. B, who was Mr. C’s lover, listened with interest for a while. Her seductive gaze flickered toward her partner as she pressed on assertively, “Positioning? I’d like to ask whether the subjects are set according to their nano-automated Disposition, or have you already fixed their variable Disposition? If you want to find that lost set of data in a short time, shouldn’t you set up a group-oriented cooperative Disposition for them? Look at them; they have no common goal and are solely focused on dealing with Subject 1. What are their chances of success?” 0

With a cold laugh, Professor R shot a piercing glance at Ms. B. He then stated, “Survival of the fittest. Without ambition, struggle, or understanding of benefits and drawbacks, how can we identify who is strong? Only the strong can help us find the data we need.” 0

As soon as Professor R finished speaking, a series of applause erupted suddenly. Someone chimed in enthusiastically, “Insightful! Truly insightful!” 0

"I have a question. If the Fourth Group's seed fails to complete the mission, what will be the outcome?" 0

A cold glint flashed in Professor R's eyes as he replied, "The survival of the fittest, as you all should know. If this batch fails to meet the deadline, there is only one outcome—" Under the expectant gazes of the crowd, Professor R squeezed out a few words through clenched teeth: "Elimination." 0

Elimination!!! As they looked at the vivid images of seeds with human consciousness and emotions on the screen, everyone present, except for Professor R, couldn't help but shudder. 0

Everyone understood the implications of Professor R's words. Here, no one dared to challenge his authority. They could discuss scientific theories in the open but could not question his decisions. 0

Isn't there a classic saying? Those who provoke without reason must have some backing; if one cannot endure minor grievances, disaster will surely follow. Professor R's superior was Mr. C's father. Therefore, regardless of the situation, Professor R had to endure the unreasonable provocations from the other side. A small lack of patience could ruin a grand plan! This was precisely the lesson to be learned. 0

Professor R shifted his gaze back to the screen and zoomed in on Seed No. 1 at the bottom of the lake. A series of bubbles appeared as it activated its evasion mode; the wound on its neck inflicted by Living Dead healed automatically within a short time. Ultimately, it did not unleash its physical abilities to confront Living Dead. 0

Seed No. 1's overly human-like actions left Professor R somewhat disappointed. He switched the camera angle again, showing Seed No. 1 dragging its numb legs toward Seed No. 2. 0

The scene where Seed No. 1 performed artificial respiration on Seed No. 2 drew a chorus of gasps from the audience. The imagery was so lifelike that it felt as if real people were enacting everything before their eyes. 0

Mr. C erupted once more, directing his ire at Professor R: "Can you tell me the specific data and information about Seed No. 1?" 0

This was an outrageous demand, perhaps the most absurd request ever made. Despite Mr. C's father being the boss and Mr. C receiving a salary from him, Professor R had to maintain certain personal boundaries and authority. 0

To put it bluntly, if all information were exposed, Professor R would lose his value and significance entirely. Moreover, based on what he had just seen from Nano Tracker, he sensed that Seed No. 1 was desperately trying to reject something and wanted to break free from his control. This was Professor R's greatest concern and source of unease. 0

Mr. C was set to become the next CEO; this was an undeniable fact. Thus, no one present dared to contradict his opinions or suggestions; they all tacitly awaited to see Professor R make a fool of himself. 0

Professor R was notorious for his ruthless nature, known for his ability to unleash fury on his assistants using any object within reach. The unfortunate members of the First Group, Second Group, and Third Group faced a grim fate after their failures: their brain tissue would be subjected to high-end skill manipulation, causing their brain cells to rapidly decay and rot. Cruelly, they possessed human-like sensitive nerves that allowed them to feel pain. When such an event occurred, they would be plunged into an unprecedented terror, ultimately succumbing to death from the agony. 0

This time, the stakes of success or failure were tied to Professor R's very survival. After several rounds of failures, his boss had long lost patience and issued a final ultimatum: if he failed again, his fate would mirror that of the test subjects. However, if he succeeded, the skyrocketing profits would be shared with him. 0

In light of the terrifying consequences of the ultimatum, Professor R decided to activate a different mode this time. This mode was not to be casually disclosed to anyone, including the data and information regarding the Fourth Group members. 0

Professor R hesitated, struggling and weighing his options before finally managing to utter two words: "No way." 0

"You've got guts," Mr. C said through gritted teeth, filled with resentment. "Just wait until you go home in disgrace!" With that, he stormed off in anger. 0

Ms. B shot a disapproving glance at Professor R before clicking her high heels with a rhythmic sound as she swayed her slender waist and took quick steps to chase after Mr. C. 0
