Jiang Xi reached out to smooth Fong Yang's furrowed brow and said, "Don't frown on such a joyous day. The Emperor and the princes are all here; you must go out and handle things. Just come back early." 0

Fong Yang knew that there would definitely be some action from the Emperor during the wedding, but with Han Yue and Han Shuang around, he felt reassured. However, he was reluctant to leave until Jiang Xi urged him repeatedly. He finally nodded, reached up to remove the phoenix crown from Jiang Xi's head, and said, "I'll be back soon. This is too heavy; let me take it off so your neck can rest for a while." 0

A maid instinctively spoke up, "Your Highness, that's against the rules." Han Yue quickly gestured for the maid to be quiet: "My lord cares for the consort; that's the only rule that matters." 0

Upon hearing this, the maid fell silent. It was obvious to anyone that the prince doted on his wife; nothing was more important than her comfort. 0

Fong Yang gently reminded her, "I'm heading out now. If you get hungry, eat something first." 0

Jiang Xi nodded lightly, "Just drink less alcohol." 0

Fong Yang replied with a simple "Mm," then turned with the others and walked out. 0

In the bridal chamber, only Han Yue and Han Shuang remained to keep Jiang Xi company. Han Yue playfully teased, "Consort, your lord is truly considerate of you; it makes me envious." 0

Jiang Xi's cheeks flushed slightly as she replied, "If you keep talking nonsense, I'll have Fong Yang punish you." 0

Han Yue scratched her head and quickly switched to her proper role: "If you're bored, I can keep you company and chat. Are you happy, Consort?" 0

Jiang Xi rolled her eyes at her and said, "To marry the Regent is a dream come true for countless women in Da Zhou; of course I'm happy." 0

At that moment, a palace maid entered from outside, respectfully holding a brocade box. "I report to the Regent Consort that Her Majesty the Empress has sent a congratulatory gift for you to receive personally." 0

Han Yue and Han Shuang exchanged glances, thinking: See? These clowns are coming to deliver their heads again. 0

Ever since Jiang Xi publicly slapped the Empress in the palace last time, she had no faith that this gift would be anything good. Nevertheless, she instructed them to let the maid in. 0

The maid lowered her head as she entered with the brocade box. 0

As soon as she reached the Inner Chamber, she suddenly hurled the brocade box towards Han Yue's direction. Han Yue instinctively raised her hand to swipe at it; with a powerful force, the box split in two, sending powder flying everywhere and releasing a strange fragrance into the air. 0

Han Yue's expression hardened as she shouted, "Hold your breath!" Just as the words left her lips, she fainted. 0

Han Shuang couldn't hold on much longer either and collapsed to the ground with a thud. 0

Only then did the palace maid approach to confirm that Han Yue and Han Shuang had truly passed out. She walked over to the bed, gazing at the young girl in her splendid wedding gown lying unconscious on the bridal bed. 0

With a cold smirk, she said, "Alright, the next steps are up to you, Young Master Huo." 0

The maid exchanged a glance with Huo Xingwen outside the door, her eyes clearly indicating her intent to take advantage of the situation. Huo Xingwen looked at Jiang Xi on the bed, a surge of hatred welling up inside him. 0

He thought to himself: It's all because you changed your heart that I ended up in this miserable state. 0

Seeing Huo Xingwen's shocked and panicked expression, Han Yue didn't hold back as she taunted, "Where do you think you're going, Young Master Huo? It's strange; the aphrodisiac has no effect on us. You should know what kind of training I've undergone since childhood. Do you really think this little bit of incense can take us down?" 0

Han Shuang immediately asked Jiang Xi how to deal with him: "Please instruct us, Your Highness." 0

Jiang Xi leaned against the headboard and glanced over, saying indifferently, "It's simple. Disable his hands and feet and shove him under the bed." 0

Huo Xingwen stared at Jiang Xi in disbelief, thinking: How can such a delicate woman say something like that? 0

He shouted loudly, "Jiang Xi, I can't believe you've become so vicious after just a few days apart." 0

Jiang Xi raised an eyebrow and replied, "You call me vicious? On my wedding day, you—a mere outsider—sneak into my bridal chamber. If I'm not mistaken, someone has already gone to the front hall to report that I'm secretly meeting an old lover in my new room. Soon enough, when the prince arrives with his guests, both Regent and I will be humiliated on my wedding day. My reputation will be ruined; I might even be executed on the spot. With such a scheme in play, how dare you accuse me of being vicious?" 0

Jiang Xi calmly laid out their plan clearly and concisely. 0

Huo Xingwen heard a commotion outside and suddenly cried out in despair, "Jiang Xi, I never expected you to be so vain and fickle..." 0

Before he could finish his sentence, Han Yue disdainfully struck him with a chop to knock him out. Then she and Han Shuang joined forces to shove Huo Xingwen under the bed. 0

Han Yue said, "I didn't expect him to resort to such a method to perish together with the Princess." 0

Han Shuang coldly replied, "How could someone like him have such determination? He must have received a promise of protection from the Emperor." 0

Jiang Xi silently watched, recalling Huo Xingwen's momentarily venomous reaction, feeling increasingly regretful about how blind she had been in her past life to have been attracted to such a person. 0

Jiang Xi snapped out of her thoughts and looked up at Han Shuang. He was naturally cold and taciturn, and it was rare for this girl to speak so much after being by her side for so long. 0

Han Yue felt somewhat speechless and thought to herself: At a time like this, the Princess is actually concerned about how much Han Shuang talks? 0

Jiang Xi chuckled lightly, unfazed, and said, "What’s there to be afraid of? The Prince will handle everything properly." 0

The footsteps outside grew closer. Fong Gaoyun appeared with a concerned expression and said, "I don’t want everyone to see the Uncle Emperor's embarrassment either, but the more we try to cover this up, the more people will doubt it. This matter concerns the dignity of the royal family, and I hope Uncle Emperor can understand my difficulties." 0

Fong Yang coldly interjected, "Yin Ye, command Captain Wei to guard all exits of the Regent's Palace. No one is allowed to leave early." 0

Yin Ye complied and left. 0

Fong Yang continued, "I will give you all an explanation today." 0

Without even glancing at Fong Gaoyun, Fong Yang lifted his leg and walked toward the bridal chamber. 0

Just then, Han Yue opened the door and saw so many people standing there. She feigned surprise and asked, "Prince, Emperor, are you here to make trouble during the wedding night?" 0

Fong Yang only asked, "Is the Princess well?" 0

Han Yue instinctively nodded and replied, "She is well; it's just that the Princess is a bit hungry. I was just about to go to the kitchen to bring some hot food for her." 0

Fong Gaoyun and the ministers felt a jolt in their hearts, puzzled: What’s going on? Why is the maid still awake? Where is Huo Xingwen? What happened to the promised humiliation? 0

Jiang Xi looked at everyone in surprise and said, "Fong Yang, weren't you supposed to greet the guests? Why are you back?" 0

Fong Yang glanced at the sweating Fong Gaoyun and replied, "I was worried you might be bored alone, so I came to check on you. Has anyone come by?" 0

Jiang Xi, puzzled, responded, "No, only Han Yue and Han Shuang have been here." 0

Han Shuang respectfully replied, "This servant has been here since the princess entered her new chamber; no one has come in." 0

Fong Yang simply acknowledged with a grunt. In that moment as he turned, his gaze was cold and sharp, causing everyone in the outer hall to shudder. They had heard every word of the conversation inside and could only anticipate the storm that would follow if trouble arose on such a joyous day. 0

Fong Gaoyun felt particularly affected. He quickly decided to protect himself and angrily shouted at the guard from Regent's Palace who had brought the news, "Today's incident is entirely due to this person spreading rumors; he deserves punishment! Someone take him out and execute him!" 0

The guard who had delivered the news was so frightened that he knelt down immediately, pleading, "Your Majesty, spare me! My lord, this was not my intention." 0

Fong Yang stepped outside the hall and coldly looked at Fong Gaoyun. He said, "He is from Regent's Palace; if there is to be any punishment, it will be my responsibility. There’s no need for His Majesty to worry." 0

He raised his hand to signal the guards rushing in. "Take him away and hold him for further judgment." 0

Then Fong Yang turned and re-entered the establishment. 0

Fong Gaoyun cast a reluctant glance inside the shop, his eyes dark with frustration. He forced a smile and said, "What a false alarm. I shall return to the palace now and not disturb Uncle Emperor on his wedding night." 0
