In the evening, I walked through the market with a basket of vegetables, my face dark and my brows furrowed, clearly unwilling. 0

"That Die-hard Nerd actually dared to ask me to buy groceries and cook for him!" 0

He claimed that as a man, he didn't know how to cook and hoped I could help improve his meals. Did he really think a mere fox could do better than him?! 0

I haphazardly picked some vegetables and grabbed a chicken before heading back to the scholar's house. 0

Cooking was certainly not my forte, but to my surprise, the Nerd had invited the neighbor, Aunt Liu, over to teach me step by step, leaving me with no reason to refuse. 0

I even began to suspect that I had fallen into the Nerd's trap. 0

After a flurry of chaos in the kitchen, I finally managed to prepare dinner. However, looking at the rather unappetizing spread on the table, I surprisingly felt a small sense of accomplishment and couldn’t help but smile proudly. 0

As a fox, being able to cook was quite an honor! 0

The Nerd picked up some food and took a bite. 0

I watched him eagerly and asked, "How does it taste?" 0

He frowned slightly, pursed his lips, and after a moment, smiled and said, "Very good." 0

Hearing this made me even prouder and happier, so I happily grabbed a piece of chicken and stuffed it into my mouth. 0

"Wow!" After just a couple of bites, I immediately spat it out. 0

This... this is simply inedible! 0

Die-hard Nerd tricked me! 0

I glared at Nerd in frustration, but he was leisurely eating his food, looking completely unfazed by the terrible taste. 0

He glanced at me and smiled gently, "It was cooked by Liuli Girl herself. This effort is not easy; even if it's hard to swallow, it is still a delicacy." 0

In that instant, a warmth surged within me that I had never felt before. I couldn't help but tear up, my eyes brimming with tears of emotion. 0

Die-hard Nerd really knows how to sweet-talk. 0

That night, Nerd comfortably slept in his bed while I sat on my cold bench. 0

But thinking about what he said earlier, I felt no dissatisfaction at all; instead, I found myself grinning foolishly, my face glowing with happiness. 0

Until I noticed a faint movement outside the house. I stood up and stepped out, moving lightly, and saw a Yellow-Clad Woman standing outside. 0

However, her alluring and flamboyant appearance made it clear she was a Weasel Spirit, and it seemed her abilities were about the same as mine. 0

"Hey! No wonder I sensed some demonic energy in the house; it turns out a vixen has already arrived." 0
The weasel sized me up, a hint of disdain in her eyes, the corners of her mouth curling slightly upward. 0

So she was also after the scholar. 0

I lifted my chin, adopting a condescending stance as I looked at her, snorting coldly and letting out a sound from my nostrils. "This scholar is mine first. If you want to compete with me, don't blame me for being rude!" 0

"Then let's see who gets him first!" The weasel declared before vanishing into the night. 0

It was only then that I finally remembered my purpose: to eat Nerd. How could I have been so distracted by amusement that I almost forgot such an important matter! 0

Yet, gazing at Nerd's handsome face as he slept and recalling his smile, I found it impossible to harden my heart. My brows furrowed in inner turmoil. 0

The entire night was spent wrestling with the dilemma of whether to eat him or not, leading to another sleepless night. In the end, I had to find another excuse for myself— 0

"Fine! Considering how Nerd praised me today, I'll let him live for one more day." 0
