Xia Dengshan stretched lazily, leaning against the stone wall, still enjoying his bun. Despite the constant noise from the stone, he thought to himself that this young fool wouldn’t accomplish anything significant. 0

As the stone slightly lifted, Xia Dengshan's body was slowly moved, causing the bun to fall to the ground. Just as he had taken a bite, this kid was already trying to settle scores with him again. How impatient! 0

So, Xia Dengshan blew into his windpipe, calling upon the partner he had mentioned to Ran Xing. As the sound ceased, a massive Lizard stood before Xia Dengshan. It glanced at him and without hesitation placed its large tail over the gap that Ran Xing had just pried open. 0

With a loud thud, the gap disappeared. From the other side came a loud exclamation of surprise; Xia Dengshan had successfully taught this young fool a lesson. 0

"Old man, are you scared?" Ran Xing shouted through the stone at Xia Dengshan, but he wasn’t discouraged. With his recent efforts, he was almost able to break through the stone while carrying Nian Yueye's statue. 0

Xia Dengshan ignored the kid's taunts, quickly cleaned up the bun, and swallowed it down. He had already been owed wages for too long; he couldn’t waste food that had come his way. 0

Seeing that the figure above him remained silent, Ran Xing stopped shouting and calmed himself down to continue his earlier attempts. 0

"Ran Xing, are you really sure you can do it this time?" Nian Yueye asked. Although she saw progress in Ran Xing's attempts, the sudden interference from the Lizard nearly ruined all his hard work, prompting her worried words. 0

"I’ve seen chatty people before, but none as chatty as you. Don’t say you’re holding me back; that’s not happening," Ran Xing replied as he steadied his breathing and slowly sat down. This time, he was determined to go out and teach that creature a lesson. 0

Vitality gathered in Ran Xing’s heart once more. With each heartbeat, this Vitality was gradually sent throughout his body. This time, instead of using a reaction force method, he tried to bring his hands closer to the ground and use Water Vitality to draw water up directly! 0

"Ran Xing, what are you planning...!" Nian Yueye exclaimed in surprise. This kid’s thought process was impressively quick; if he could create a towering water column with it, even a pig could soar into the sky! 0

"Nian Yueye, just watch! If I don’t pull off something big, I won’t be able to quell that guy’s arrogance!" 0

As Ran Xing channeled his Vitality through his hands, the cave began to tremble slightly. Dew on the rock walls and cracks in the ground started dripping water at an impressive speed. Ran Xing also took this opportunity to stretch his muscles and began performing Tai Chi slowly. 0

Gradually, within a seven-step radius centered around Ran Xing and Nian Yueye, a massive Tai Chi diagram formed with flowing Water Vitality. As this circle expanded outward, sounds of earth shaking and rocks cracking could be heard. Everything in their vicinity that existed in water form was mobilized by Ran Xing’s Vitality. He grabbed hold of the rope connecting him to the statue and with it, this Tai Chi diagram shot forth a tremendous stream of water, propelling both of them upward once more. 0

In an instant when the Lizard hadn’t yet reacted, taking advantage of the surging water flow, Ran Xing broke through the obstruction of the boulder and landed right in front of Xia Dengshan. 0

"You... what are you doing? Young people shouldn’t let their tempers flare!" Xia Dengshan exclaimed in shock. It seemed this kid had some skills; he had managed to grasp all this so quickly—perhaps he hadn’t misjudged him after all. 0

"Enough nonsense! You deceive people in this world under the pretense of debts to steal wealth; there’s no mercy for you outside the law! Now I’m here to judge you on behalf of justice!" 0

This statement made Xia Dengshan burst into laughter. 0

A seemingly eighteen or nineteen-year-old young fool actually dared to claim he would judge an old conman like himself? What audacity! 0

Xia Dengshan couldn't help but burst into laughter. 0

A young lad, seemingly only eighteen or nineteen, actually dared to say he would use the law to judge an old veteran like him. What audacity! 0

Even so, Nian Yueye took a step back and left the situation to his Lizard. 0

Ran Xing suddenly remembered that he was still carrying Nian Yueye's statue and needed to leave the cave before he could fully unleash his efforts against this old man. 0

So, Ran Xing immediately leaped towards the final exit using the method he had just employed. 0

Seeing Ran Xing attempting to escape, Xia Dengshan quickly ordered the Lizard beside him to capture this living hero; he couldn't afford any delays in his business. 0

Just as Ran Xing was about to reach the cave's mouth, he suddenly felt something tightly gripping his back foot. Turning around, he saw the Lizard's tongue wrapped around his leg like a rope, pulling him toward that old man. 0

"Kid, don’t worry about me, just go!" The statue began to command Ran Xing, urging him not to cling to any sense of righteousness and to let go of this burden in order to deal with the upcoming foe. 0

But Ran Xing did not respond; he had already promised his teacher that he would see it through. 0

"I’ve seen plenty of your little tricks. Not many heroes can escape from my grasp. Xiao Niangao, bring them back!" Xia Dengshan was not about to let this juicy morsel slip away easily. 0

"Ran Xing, listen to me! I command you not to worry about me; otherwise, neither of us will get out of here." 0

Ran Xing still did not reply; he desperately tried to grab onto a rock, continuing to compete with Xiao Niangao's tongue in a battle of endurance. 0

However, Xia Dengshan was not interested in discussing master-disciple bonds at such a moment. As soon as his order was given, Xiao Niangao's tongue yanked both of them down, shattering the statue. 0

Xia Dengshan stood behind Xiao Niangao, clapping his hands and marveling at this grand performance; it truly moved him. 0

Meanwhile, Ran Xing pointed an accusing finger at Xia Dengshan and shouted, "Old man, you call yourself a hero yet engage in despicable acts here! You even harmed my teacher Nian Yueye and still have the audacity to boast!" 0

However, this time, Meng Jiang brought the students to Qianwen's small pavilion. 0

Before the Convention began, it was customary for the commander of the Trial Ground to take some time to communicate with each hall's students. This exchange had no strict rules and also included the budding feelings that had developed among these children. 0

As they approached the end, Qianwen finally mentioned Ran Xing, causing Shaomeng and Luo Yue's eyes to light up: this guy, who had been missing for nearly half a month, was still in their thoughts. 0

"You must have been waiting anxiously," Qianwen said with a smile as he sat down and offered tea to You Long's two students. 0

Shaomeng remained silent, while Luo Yue was already impatiently hoping Qianwen would reveal the mystery. 0

"Alright, don't rush. Nian Yueye mentioned in yesterday's letter that Ran Xing's training is going smoothly. If all goes well, he should be back by noon at the latest and will join you for the Convention competition," Qianwen straightforwardly informed Ran Xing's two friends. 0

"Is that true, Commander?!" Luo Yue exclaimed joyfully, her sparkling eyes repeatedly seeking confirmation from Qianwen. After not seeing the boy for half a month, she had accumulated countless words to share with Ran Xing. 0

Receiving another nod from Qianwen, Luo Yue felt relieved and no longer asked questions, sitting quietly beside him as he moved on to the next topic. 0

"Just don't get too caught up in private matters. If you truly want to plant a seed, I hope to see it blossom and bear fruit; everyone is watching you two," Qianwen's words were not directed at anyone in particular but made both children, except for You Long, shyly lower their heads. 0

It turned out that the commander really knew everything! The two remained silent, but Qianwen could clearly see that after months of close interaction, regardless of which hall they were in, it was not a big issue as long as it didn't interfere with certain matters. 0

Regarding matters of the heart, Shaomeng also found himself in an unexpected situation with Meng Jiang's student Yumeng. 0

Coming from the same Trial Ground family as Shaomeng, Yumeng had stuck closely to him since their first meeting. Although Shaomeng seemed unsure how to handle her sudden closeness, he could feel that whenever he got a bit closer to Luo Yue, Yumeng would cast various warning glances his way—especially one particular look that made him sit across from Luo Yue rather than side by side even in front of Qianwen. 0

In preparation for the Convention, Shaomeng had changed into new clothes and styled his hair. Months of training had made his muscles more pronounced, giving his body a notably solid appearance. His well-groomed hair added to his handsome look; it was no wonder Shaomeng found himself dealing with this minor dilemma. 0

Qianwen quickly understood Shaomeng's unspoken troubles and chose not to say much more. He cleared his throat and continued discussing matters related to the Convention, encouraging them to train hard and strive for good results for their hall. 0

Although the topic returned to serious matters, laughter never ceased here; it rose and fell like waves. 0

This might have been one of the rare moments when You Long and his students felt most relaxed since the Ran Xing incident. 0

Meanwhile, on a similar mountain path, Shan Qing led Ran Xing's sister to a cave to address some issues. 0

"Alright, you go in first," Shan Qing instructed Ran Xing's sister. Due to Divine Fall's influence, she was unaware of her surroundings and walked into the cave on her own accord before sitting down. 0

After some exploration, Shan Qing slowly stood up as if having found his target and smiled happily. 0

In the solitary path of late autumn wanderers, beneath red leaves waiting for murky wine, an old friend seemed well hidden; alone with wine was Nian Yueye. 0

"Old friend, I found you!" Shan Qing smiled broadly as a gentle breeze stirred fallen leaves and rustled through the quiet mountains, bringing forth an uneasy throbbing sensation. 0
