The weather was getting hotter.
Beibei looked at Liu Yuan and said, "Mom, I want to go out and play."
Liu Yuan glanced at her, "It's very hot outside. Aren't you afraid of the heat?"
Beibei replied confidently, "I'm not afraid."
Liu Yuan raised an eyebrow, "Really not afraid?"
Beibei insisted, "Really not afraid."
Liu Yuan sighed, "Alright then."
Beibei eagerly asked, "So will you take me now?"
Liu Yuan explained, "I need to go to the building materials market to look at renovation supplies. Do you want to come along?"
Beibei nodded enthusiastically, "I want to go with you."
Liu Yuan smiled, "Then let's go."
Beibei responded with a simple, "Okay."
They stepped outside, got into the car, and buckled their seatbelts.
Liu Yuan started the car and drove off.
They arrived at the building materials market and parked.
After getting out of the car, they walked into a store.
The owner approached them and said, "Hello! What can I help you with today?"
Liu Yuan replied, "I want to take a look at renovation materials."
The owner nodded, "We have all kinds of renovation materials. What are you interested in?"
Liu Yuan said, "I’d like to see wallpaper for the living room."
The owner responded, "We have various colors of wallpaper. What color do you prefer?"
Liu Yuan answered, "I like light green wallpaper."
The owner smiled, "We have light green wallpaper. I'll go get it for you now."
Liu Yuan replied, "Okay."
The owner went to the warehouse.
Beibei turned to Liu Yuan and said, "Mom, I want to go look over there."
Liu Yuan asked, "That area sells floor tiles. Do you want to check it out?"
Beibei nodded eagerly, "I want to see."
Liu Yuan looked at her and said, "Then you go ahead."
Beibei ran off to the place selling floor tiles.
Liu Yuan called after her, "Don't run too far."
Beibei ignored her.
Liu Yuan watched her with a smile, saying nothing more.
The shop owner approached with several rolls of wallpaper and said, "Here is our wallpaper; take a look."
Liu Yuan replied, "Okay."
She took the wallpaper and examined it closely.
The owner continued, "If you like it, you can cut a piece to take home."
Liu Yuan responded, "I'll come back tonight."
The owner nodded, "Alright."
Holding the wallpaper, Liu Yuan walked over to where Beibei was looking at the floor tiles.
Beibei squatted down and remarked, "This floor tile looks really nice."
Liu Yuan asked her, "Do you like this floor tile?"
Beibei looked up and said, "I do."
Liu Yuan smiled and replied, "Then let's buy this floor tile."
Beibei's eyes widened in surprise, "Really?"
Liu Yuan assured her, "Really."
Beibei beamed and said, "Mommy, you're so nice."
Liu Yuan smiled back, "I've always been nice."
Beibei nodded knowingly.
Turning to the shop owner, Liu Yuan asked, "How much for this floor tile?"
The owner answered, "This type of floor tile is 100 yuan each."
Liu Yuan responded confidently, "Then I'll take 100 yuan worth of floor tiles."
The owner acknowledged her request and began calculating the price with a calculator.
Liu Yuan looked at Beibei and said, "Sweetheart, let's go to the next store."
Beibei replied eagerly, "Okay."
They walked to the next store.
After browsing for a long time, they finally finished looking at all the renovation materials.
Liu Yuan looked at Beibei and asked, "Sweetheart, are you tired?"
Beibei replied, "I'm not tired."
Liu Yuan continued, "Are you thirsty?"
Beibei responded, "I'm a little thirsty."
Liu Yuan suggested, "Then let's go to the convenience store and buy some water."
Beibei agreed, "Okay."
They walked to the convenience store.
Upon entering, they looked at the shelves.
Beibei gazed at the ice cream sign and swallowed hard.
Liu Yuan asked her, "Sweetheart, do you want to eat ice cream?"
Beibei replied, "I want to, but I don't know if I can."
Liu Yuan inquired, "Why can't you?"
Beibei explained, "I'm afraid Mom doesn't have money."
Liu Yuan reassured her, "Mom has money. Whatever you want to eat, Mom will buy for you."
Beibei asked, "Really?"
Liu Yuan confirmed, "Really."
Beibei then asked, "Can I have the five-dollar ice cream?"
Liu Yuan questioned, "Why do you want the five-dollar ice cream?"
Beibei answered, "Because the five-dollar ice cream is cheap."
Liu Yuan insisted, "Mom isn't short on money. Whatever ice cream you want, Mom will buy for you."
Beibei asked again, "Really?"
Liu Yuan affirmed, "Really."
Beibei then said, "Then can I have the ten-dollar ice cream?"
Liu Yuan replied, "Sure."
Beibei thanked her, saying, "Thank you, Mom."
Liu Yuan smiled and said, "You're welcome."
They bought two cups of ice cream and sat there eating. Liu Yuan looked at Beibei and said, "Sweetheart, we’re not actually poor; you don’t need to save money for me."
Beibei looked at her and replied, "I know."
Liu Yuan asked, "What do you know?"
Beibei answered, "I know Mom is very rich."
Liu Yuan continued, "Then why do you still want to eat the five-dollar ice cream?"
Beibei replied, "Because I want to help Mom save money."
Liu Yuan smiled and said, "You’re so considerate."
Beibei then asked, "Mom, can I eat ice cream every day?"
Liu Yuan responded, "Yes, but not too much."
Beibei questioned, "Why?"
Liu Yuan explained, "Because eating too much isn’t good for your health."
Beibei sighed and said, "Okay then."
Liu Yuan added, "Once a week."
Beibei agreed, "Alright."
After finishing their ice cream, they left the convenience store.
Liu Yuan looked at Beibei and asked, "Sweetheart, what time is it now?"
Beibei checked her watch and replied, "It’s three o'clock."
Liu Yuan inquired, "Where should we go now?"
Beibei said, "I want to go home."
Liu Yuan nodded, "Alright then."
They got into the car and fastened their seatbelts. Liu Yuan drove them home.
Once they arrived home, they got out of the car and walked into the yard. Liu Yuan opened the door and looked at Beibei.
Beibei said, "Mom, I’ll go in first."
Liu Yuan replied, "Go ahead."
Beibei ran into the house.
Liu Yuan closed the door and followed Beibei.
They arrived in the living room and sat down.
Liu Yuan looked at Beibei and asked, "Sweetheart, are you ready to sleep now?"
Beibei replied, "I'm not sleepy right now."
Liu Yuan continued, "What do you want to do then?"
Beibei said, "I want to play with my toys."
Liu Yuan smiled and said, "Then go ahead and play."
Beibei ran off to the toy room to play.
Liu Yuan picked up her phone and checked WeChat. There were many messages waiting for her. She read through them one by one, replying as she went.
After a while, Beibei came running back to her.
Liu Yuan looked at her and asked, "What's wrong?"
Beibei said, "Mommy, I'm hungry."
Liu Yuan responded, "Then I'll go make you something to eat."
Beibei nodded, "Okay."
Liu Yuan walked to the kitchen with Beibei following closely behind. They cooked together and then sat down to eat.
Beibei looked at her and said, "Mommy, I'm full."
Liu Yuan asked again, "Are you ready to sleep now?"
Beibei shook her head, "I'm still not sleepy."
Liu Yuan inquired, "What do you want to do now?"
Beibei replied, "I want to go outside and play."
Liu Yuan cautioned her, "It's really hot outside; aren't you afraid of the heat?"
Beibei confidently said, "I'm not afraid."
Liu Yuan sighed and said, "Alright then."
They went outside to play.
In the evening, they returned home.
Liu Yuan looked at Beibei and asked, "Sweetheart, are you going to sleep now?"
Beibei replied, "I'm not sleepy right now."
Liu Yuan inquired, "Then what do you want to do?"
Beibei said, "I want to watch TV."
Liu Yuan responded, "Then go ahead and watch TV."
Beibei ran to the living room to watch television.
Liu Yuan glanced at her phone and checked WeChat.
There were many messages waiting for her.
She looked through the messages and replied one by one.
After a while, Beibei ran back to her and looked at her.
Liu Yuan asked, "What's wrong?"
Beibei said, "Mom, I'm sleepy."
Liu Yuan replied, "Then go take a shower."
Beibei answered, "Okay."
She dashed to the bathroom to wash up.
Liu Yuan continued to check her phone and WeChat.
After a bit, Beibei came out and looked at her.
Liu Yuan asked, "Did you finish your shower?"
Beibei confirmed, "I finished my shower."
Liu Yuan then asked, "Are you ready for bed now?"
Beibei said, "I want to sleep now."
Liu Yuan encouraged her, "Then go to sleep."
Beibei agreed, "Okay."
She ran to her bedroom to sleep.
Liu Yuan looked at her phone again before putting it away and heading to the bedroom.
She lay down on the bed and fell asleep.
The next morning, Liu Yuan got up, finished washing up, and walked out of the bathroom.
She looked at Beibei on the bed and smiled, saying, "Sweetheart, it's time to get up."
Beibei looked at her and replied, "Mom, I don't want to get up right now."
Liu Yuan asked her, "Why don't you want to get up?"
Beibei answered, "I still want to sleep."
Liu Yuan said, "Alright then."
She walked to the living room and gazed out the window.
Taking out her phone, she checked WeChat.
There were many messages waiting for her.
She looked at those messages and replied one by one.
After a while, Beibei ran over to her.
Liu Yuan asked, "Why are you up?"
Beibei replied, "Because I can't sleep anymore."
Liu Yuan inquired, "What do you want to do now?"
Beibei said, "I want to go out and play."
Liu Yuan responded, "It's very hot outside; aren't you afraid of the heat?"
Beibei confidently replied, "I'm not afraid."
Liu Yuan said, "Okay then."
They went out to have fun.
By noon, they returned home.
Liu Yuan looked at Beibei and asked, "Sweetheart, do you want to take a nap now?"
Beibei replied, "I'm not sleepy right now."
Liu Yuan asked again, "What do you want to do now?"
Beibei said, "I want to watch TV."
Liu Yuan responded, "Then go ahead and watch TV."
Beibei ran to the living room to watch television.
