"What kind of weapon is this!" The Zombie King, Miao Chengmin, exclaimed as he hovered above the Domain, unable to suppress the urge to turn away. A wave of nausea swirled in his mind; even though his zombie body lacked a sense of smell, the scene before him evoked strong associations with the stench of blood flowing on the ground.
Due to the Domain's isolation, the other team members could not see the horrific self-destruction of the internal Humans. Only Miao Chengmin witnessed it all. He descended to the ground like a withered leaf falling from a cloud, and Aibo extended his hand, catching Miao Chengmin heavily in his palm.
"What on earth is this?" Miao Chengmin looked around while standing in Aibo's hand. He wanted to ask Liang Muqi but found him still soaring in the air with his Feathered Mechanical Wings spread wide.
"What's wrong?" Xu Yicheng asked, puzzled. "Did Liang Muqi fail? Or has the plan changed?"
"No, no, he executed it perfectly," Miao Chengmin said as he landed on the ground and called Liang Muqi back down. He shook his head. "I just... can't accept such a method of killing."
Wen Yue City and Xu Yicheng caught a whiff of blood in the air. It wasn't until Miao Chengmin retracted the Domain that they saw the remnants of shattered human tissue everywhere where the Domain had been. The blood on the ground resembled marks left by exploding firecrackers. Without needing Miao Chengmin to elaborate, they could already imagine how terrifying it had been when those internal Humans were killed.
"What on earth is this?" Liang Muqi returned to the ground, and Miao Chengmin asked again, his emotions becoming somewhat agitated. "Is such a terrifying weapon really something you created?"
"It's not my invention. I spent some time at Viper Base years ago. These little spheres were obtained by Viper's people in exchange for human data from internal Humans. I never expected that one day I would use weapons from internal Humans to kill internal Humans," Liang Muqi explained. "I named this little thing the Fermion-Level Tendency Oscillation Generator."
Miao Chengmin fell silent. Everyone stood on the patch of overgrown grass, watching as the sun rose from the northeast corner of Bow and Arrow Tower. The glow made them feel as if they were witnessing an orange deity come to guide lost souls.
This desolate land was devoid of human presence, and the solemnity of death weighed heavily on their hearts—despite these deaths being caused by them, bestowing death upon others was often unavoidable. The world and even the universe functioned as a gladiatorial arena; if one side died, another could live. Thus, those who once bore no weapons could become saviors or gods of slaughter; this was fate, the destined path of warriors.
Compassion for enemies only came after their deaths.
Liang Muqi understood this all too well; that was why he took it upon himself to eliminate all internal Humans. He knew that no one present, not even someone as powerful as the Zombie King, possessed such ruthless decisiveness—only he, who had once pulled the trigger to kill General Wang Yangchen, could do it.
"We won the battle; we did well. It's worth celebrating, isn't it?" Liang Muqi said as his armor unlocked around his head. However, everyone fell into silence, staring at Bow and Arrow Tower until they heard distant vendors calling out their wares. Only then did they remember that dawn had arrived. Aibo summoned a Time Portal and transported everyone back to the Song Family courtyard.
Final Countdown: 72 Days
The internal Human who initially contacted Wen Yue City had not deceived him; after Nars and Liang Muqi collaborated to create medicine from the liquid in the Element Device and administered it to Lu Sha through Jiao An, Lu Sha's coughing up blood showed immediate improvement, much to everyone's delight. Thus, during subsequent treatments over several days, they continued using chemical liquids from the Element Device. Lu Sha's consciousness gradually became clearer until this morning when Jiao An entered with fluid food prepared for Lu Sha. To her surprise, Lu Sha turned her head on the bed and called out like a child disturbed from a midday nap: "Sister Jiao An."
This affectionate call filled Jiao An with joy; she eagerly placed the plate on the table and wrapped her arms around Lu Sha's head. "You're finally better! You're finally better..." Jiao An kept repeating these words as Lu Sha's face beamed with a mischievous and optimistic smile.
Jiao An shared this good news with everyone. Upon hearing it, Wen Yue City tapped his cane under his arm and chuckled like a centenarian: "My efforts were not in vain! Ha ha ha."
Lu Sha's recovery seemed like an omen for clarity within the entire alliance; all mysteries began to unravel with her improvement. That morning, a girl radiating golden light particles knocked on the front door of Song Family Courtyard. She had her hair tied up in a high ponytail that shimmered golden in color; each strand blown by the wind resembled autumn rice ears. Her face and exposed arms were remarkably pale, evoking thoughts beyond mere appearances, and behind her stood dozens of adults.
"Hello, my name is Taokalanphiel." The girl peered through the gate curiously yet politely. "May I ask if The Celestial Warriors Alliance is inside? I'm here to find Miao Chengmin and his team."
Taokalanphiel possessed an exceptionally unique ability; among all known heroes so far, no one else had her power—super speed. She only explained this ability after meeting An Xiaotian and others.
She and all her warriors were original souls from a four-dimensional divine domain; their dimensional descent differed significantly from Miao Chengmin and other zombies—they could directly possess entirely new three-dimensional bodies to manifest in this world. However, among all supporting soldiers, only Taokalanphiel could harness fourth-dimensional time because she was a great-granddaughter of the Time-Space King; her family lineage endowed her with an innate ability to control time and space.
With her fourth-dimensional time speed mixed in, she could easily elevate her maximum speed in this world to 0.3 times that of light speed—but this speed was not conceptualized within known physics; it represented a distorted velocity achieved through dual-dimensional mixing while moving on Earth—similar to vector addition in speed.
From a planetary scale perspective, such speed allowed Taokalanphiel to move anywhere on Earth at will. When she traversed dimensions, her entire body would vanish into a glowing sphere moving at high speed while leaving behind a golden streak—a phenomenon that would exist for about one second in time within cosmic space—objects near this streak might even experience time reversal or accelerated jumps.
Once she entered the higher dimensions, she was still constrained by the current physical world, as her manifested body already existed in this realm. "So, 0.3 times the speed of light is already the limit. Why do you all think I can surpass light speed?" Taokalanphiel shrugged helplessly. "I’ve noticed that people on this planet seem to have an obsession with the idea of exceeding light speed."
Standing on the carpet by the skylight, she tilted her head as she examined the sweets on the tea table. Despite everyone urging her to sit down multiple times, she would always get up after a while and return to the carpet. She particularly enjoyed the feeling of being barefoot on the fluffy carpet; for her, this was her first experience in a lower-dimensional world, and everything felt fresh and curious.
Everyone from the Celestial Warriors Alliance, including the recently healed Lu Sha, gathered around Taokalanphiel, their curious gazes drawn to the glowing particles emanating from her.
At that moment, Qin Weishan was puzzled. Since her current form was manifested in the three-dimensional world, where did her clothes come from? Looking at Taokalanphiel, who was clad in a skin-tight platinum outfit, Qin Weishan couldn't help but feel even more intrigued by this being from another dimension.
"Humans always want to defy fate," An Xiaotian remarked. They had indeed been looking forward to Taokalanphiel claiming she could exceed light speed; after all, this topic had fascinated humanity throughout history. "But really, thank you for searching for so long to join us."
"Oh, it's no big deal," Taokalanphiel said, flicking her two high ponytails. Her appearance in this world was quite appealing; Lu Sha even felt a twinge of jealousy at her snow-white skin.
"But... listening to your abilities makes me feel..." Miao Chengmin hesitated. At that moment, he had disguised himself with a transformation spell to appear as an ordinary man, which made everyone feel a bit more at ease. Ming Juan gently linked her arm with his, her hair cascading over his shoulder as she looked up at his jawline.
Everyone waited for Miao Chengmin to speak, eager to know what he had sensed.
"I feel... you run very fast," Miao Chengmin finally managed to say.
Taokalanphiel frowned slightly and chuckled softly. "Are you saying I'm not fast enough? But this speed allows me to circle this planet ten times in one second."
"No, that's not it," Miao Chengmin replied. "What I mean is... um..."
Everyone tilted their heads in curiosity at him.
"You can only run fast," Miao Chengmin seemed to release a hidden thought.
"Uh..." Taokalanphiel glanced at the others. "I don't understand; I remember something about language being about implied meanings?"
Liu Xuan's left eye lit up as Nars chimed in, "Perhaps he means that such abilities wouldn't yield particularly impressive results on the battlefield. But saying that might be a bit presumptuous."
Miao Chengmin nodded toward Taokalanphiel.
"Oh! Hehe, I see what you mean." Taokalanphiel broke off half of a tiramisu cake and popped it into her mouth. After chewing for a moment with her mouth full of cake, she said, "Then I'll let you see for yourself later how it goes. Don't worry, Miao Ge, I'll make sure to slap your face properly."
