Zuo Dao glanced at Chen Yang, then at Zhao Yanwu.
"What’s going on? With all this talk about the Dark Realm, you’re not being hunted for a bounty, are you?"
Zhao Yanwu scoffed. "How would I know? If it weren't for him, I wouldn't even be aware of this." There was a hint of menace in her tone. "Don't let me find that person; otherwise, they'll regret ever coming into this world."
Zuo Dao thought for a moment and guessed that this might be related to recent events; otherwise, Zhao Yanwu wouldn’t be in the dark.
"Come here for a second." Zuo Dao waved at the still-shaken Chen Yang.
At that moment, Chen Yang felt his hair stand on end. If that earlier strike had landed on him with just a bit more force, he would already be dead.
It was only then that Zhao Yanwu reacted, her eyes widening as she pointed at Zuo Dao.
"You—you—how can you fly?" Her surprise was evident in her voice.
Hearing Zhao Yanwu's words made Chen Yang want to laugh. Someone could sneak up behind him without him noticing; that Realm must be stronger than him. Even those at the Foundation Establishment stage could fly briefly, let alone those above the Immortal Master Realm. Was there really any need for such shock?
Regardless of his thoughts, it was impossible for him to reveal himself.
Zuo Dao understood Zhao Yanwu's meaning and shrugged, speaking in an annoyingly casual tone. "I was bored on the boat and did some research; now I can fly."
Zhao Yanwu was left speechless by Zuo Dao's explanation. She had never heard of anyone using "one hand to cover" and still being able to utilize their own abilities afterward. In her eyes, Zuo Dao was an enigmatic man; no matter how strange things got around him, she wouldn't pursue it further. That would only lead to unnecessary trouble for herself.
Zuo Dao's mysterious entrance had completely stunned Chen Yang, making him hesitant to act recklessly. Zhao Yanwu shifted her focus back onto him.
"As long as you tell me what you know right now, my offer still stands. Otherwise, you'll end up like them." Zhao Yanwu demonstrated her point through action.
With both hands forming a seal, the remaining Heavenly Robbers trapped by her suddenly felt the space around them tremble violently. A bone-chilling cold surged upward, quickly freezing the entire area they occupied.
The formation turned into a killing array, flowing like clouds and water, devoid of bloodshed, killing without intent—this was the might of the Array Master.
"Although I really want to tell you who it is, and I would love to become part of the Dark Realm, I'm just a killer. All I know is that someone has posted a bounty on you, and the reward is quite high. But I truly don't know who it is." Since he couldn't afford to provoke either the Dark Realm or the Dark Realm, Chen Yang decided to be straightforward.
His act of robbery was nothing compared to this situation. By revealing what he knew, he might even save his own life.
Zuo Dao looked at Chen Yang, seemingly confirming something, then said to Zhao Yanwu, "He really doesn't know the true situation. If you truly want to know who issued the mission, I can help you."
Zuo Dao didn't expect anyone to dare take action against Zhao Yanwu. Thinking about that cunning old man in the village made him break out in a cold sweat. If that old man found out about this, who knows what kind of trouble would arise?
A massive ice block shimmered with colorful light under the sun, and more than ten figures appeared glaringly within the ice. They had all become corpses, their souls frozen away without any pain.
Zuo Dao showed no objection to this; after all, someone had to die. The best outcome was for a dead friend rather than a living one. Moreover, since the other party was Zhao Elder's granddaughter, Zuo Dao would also seek justice for Zhao Yanwu out of respect for Zhao Elder.
"Actually, we can put these matters aside for now. Can anyone tell me what relationship exists between the Dark Realm and the Dark Realm?" Zuo Dao looked at both of them, his meaning clear.
"Let's discuss it on the boat." Zhao Yanwu thought for a moment; she was puzzled by how such an incident could occur during this trip. She needed time to understand the whole situation.
"You should come along too." Zuo Dao glanced at Chen Yang and then turned back toward the boat without further ado. Zhao Yanwu did not express any objections and followed him inside. Only Chen Yang remained standing in the void, dazed.
Chen Yang secretly smiled bitterly and resigned himself as he flew into the boat with the two of them. As for those accomplices who had robbed with him, he completely ignored them. Once someone dies, it's like a light going out—especially when they were merely people with whom he had shared interests.
Upon entering the boat, Zuo Dao was talking with Zhao Yanwu and completely disregarded Chen Yang's presence. A figure from the Celestial Master Realm was thus left out in the cold by them.
"It seems your luck is quite good; you ran into this situation right after coming out," Zuo Dao said with a smile on his face.
"You're laughing like a fool. How is this good luck? It's not you who's being hunted, so of course you can laugh," Zhao Yanwu fumed as she looked at Zuo Dao's expression.
"Are you saying you're unlucky?" Zuo Dao replied, gazing at Zhao Yanwu. "Do you want me to explain?"
"Go ahead, let's hear your excuse."
"Think about it. The moment you stepped out, you ran into him." Zuo Dao pointed at Chen Yang. "And it just so happens that he knows what's going on and is someone who can't kill you, right?"
"So what?" Zhao Yanwu found Zuo Dao's reasoning puzzling.
"He only knows about the bounty but hasn't taken on the task. His intention was simply to rob you, wasn't it?" Zuo Dao delved deeper, piquing Zhao Yanwu's curiosity.
"What does that have to do with anything?" The more Zhao Yanwu listened, the more confused she became.
"You can be clever when you're supposed to be foolish and foolish when you're supposed to be clever," Zuo Dao said in an educational tone. "Think about it: if you were suddenly killed while clashing with your enemies, what would your grandfather do?"
At this point, Zhao Yanwu couldn't help but shiver. If that were the case, not only her grandfather but her entire family would turn the Eastern Victory Continent upside down. She had only considered the consequences of her own death without thinking about the aftermath it would cause.
Without thinking, she blurted out, "The Eastern Victory Continent is going to be in chaos."
The previous turmoil could still be managed, but if Zuo Dao was right, that would truly lead to disaster.
"Well, now it's not just me in trouble; you're in trouble too," Zhao Yanwu said as she spread her hands and laughed heartily.
Zuo Dao suddenly remembered that he still needed her to lift the 'shackles' on him. At that moment, he began to loathe himself immensely; what good was having divine powers if he was still suppressed in the Celestial Realm?
Chen Yang felt increasingly uncomfortable listening to their conversation. It seemed he was just a nobody in their eyes, having been overlooked since he entered. The more he listened, the more alarmed he became; he hadn't realized that what seemed like an ordinary bounty could lead to such significant consequences and create such dire repercussions.
"By the way, why did you call this person in?" At that moment, Zhao Yanwu finally remembered that there was a third person on the boat.
"It's nothing much, just wanted to ask him a few questions. Perhaps we might need him to break this deadlock. Since he has nothing else to do, I thought I'd let him tag along."
Hearing Zuo Dao's words, Chen Yang felt utterly devastated. Was this really how they viewed him? What did it mean that he had nothing else to do? Wait, break what deadlock? They were going to use him? It was only then that he truly began to regret coming out for this venture.
"Senior, this really has nothing to do with me! I just wanted to enjoy a bit of the autumn breeze and didn't expect to run into you!" Chen Yang wore a face full of bitterness.
Upon hearing Chen Yang's words, Zuo Dao and Zhao Yanwu couldn't help but laugh. This was definitely someone with the skills of an assassin but none of the moral integrity.
"Alright, why all the nonsense?" Since he had already been misunderstood, Zuo Dao decided to lean into it, adopting a demeanor of an experienced elder. "Now that you're here, why are you wrapped up so tightly? Aren't you afraid of suffocating yourself?"
Chen Yang suddenly remembered that since he boarded the boat, he had been completely shrouded in his black cloak.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I'll take it off right now; I hope you won't be angry, Senior." Chen Yang hurriedly removed his hood.
Chen Yang's appearance was quite ordinary, which suited his identity well; an outstanding-looking assassin could never make a good assassin.
"You've heard what we've been discussing; what are your thoughts?" Zuo Dao gestured for him to find a place to sit.
Chen Yang hesitantly lowered himself onto a chair.
"Thank you, Senior."
At the same time, he felt a bit relieved. This senior seemed quite amiable; at the very least, he was at the level of Celestial Sovereign's Realm and possibly even an Immortal King. The fact that he hadn't killed him on sight was already a stroke of luck, so he needed to demonstrate his value.
Zhao Yanwu suppressed his laughter as he watched Zuo Dao perform.
"Actually, I'm not very clear about this matter either. My status in the Dark Realm isn't that high. That bounty mission..." At this point, he instinctively glanced at Zhao Yanwu.
"It's fine, continue," Zuo Dao waved his hand grandly, exuding an air of authority.
"Yes, that bounty mission is only open to assassins of Azure Rank and above in the Dark Realm, while I am only Yellow Rank. I learned about this mission purely by chance," Chen Yang replied honestly.
"Azure Rank?" Zuo Dao looked at Zhao Yanwu with a questioning gaze.
Although Chen Yang's character wasn't great, his insight was particularly sharp; otherwise, he wouldn't have made such a name for himself in the Black Forest, managing to escape several encirclements.
Seeing Zuo Dao's expression, it was clear that the other party was unaware of the ranking system in the Dark Realm, which puzzled him. Could this person be a hidden master? But even so, one should have some knowledge about it.
After all, the existence of the Dark Realm wasn't something that had emerged overnight. Even someone who was somewhat ignorant should have at least a vague understanding. What kind of background and identity did this person have?
Despite his doubts, he still recounted everything he knew about the Dark Realm without omitting any details he was aware of.
After all, following this incident, his career as an assassin would come to an end. Moreover, he understood that even if he didn't share information, the other party had ways to uncover what they wanted to know. If it came to that point, it would be himself who would suffer the consequences.
