The Northern Crossing Immortal left a significant legacy for future generations. After all, he was a figure who fought on the ancient battlefield, so it is not surprising that he possessed several cultivation methods not belonging to the human race.
Currently, Beidu Liufeng was using a cultivation method from the Demon Clan. Not only demons, but there were also human cultivators practicing demon cultivation methods; however, due to the overall environment, demon cultivators tended to remain low-key.
The Terror Hammer Technique was derived from the demon cultivation method and had been modified by the Northern Crossing Immortal, transforming it into a cultivation method suitable for human practitioners.
Beidu Liufeng's strike descended like a mountain upon Zuo Dao. Even before the attack landed, the ground beneath Zuo Dao had already sunk under the immense pressure.
He seemed to transform into a raging demon, wielding a mountain as he launched his assault on Zuo Dao.
The black mountain was terrifying and fierce, covered in countless sharp spikes, but most notably, it emanated an aura that could awaken the darkest aspects of one's heart.
The powerful attack suppressed both the Xiangsi Sword and the Soul-Devouring Blade. What had once been brilliant moonlight and sunlight now dimmed significantly.
Zuo Dao swung his fists repeatedly, launching counterattacks that echoed with loud thuds.
The tremendous impact forced him to retreat continuously. Beidu Liufeng raised his hand for another strike, and a second black mountain came crashing down.
One mountain, two mountains, three mountains...
After unleashing five strikes in total, Beidu Liufeng finally ceased his assault; this was the limit of his Terror Hammer Technique.
Five massive mountains loomed over Zuo Dao like gigantic fingers, with wisps of black mist swirling around them.
Zuo Dao dared not hesitate. After several ineffective strikes, he immediately slapped out a palm that instantly expanded to a size comparable to a large room, shimmering with golden light as it met the five black mountains.
The solidified golden hand collided with the menacing black peaks, stirring up clouds and producing a deep rumble.
With a loud "thud," Zuo Dao was forcibly driven into the ground for a thousand feet, leaving the earth in utter disarray. Finding even fist-sized clumps of dirt became an arduous task, illustrating just how powerful this attack had been.
Zuo Dao felt the dark energy behind him growing stronger as he passed through layer after layer of mud. This impact did not cause significant harm to his robust body; he simply refused to dissipate the force of the blow and endured it with sheer physical strength.
However, there was a benefit to this strike. Zuo Dao could clearly sense a slight loosening of the Divine Lock and Celestial Chain within him. This small release unleashed a powerful force that filled his body.
It felt wonderful; Zuo Dao even let out a groan.
This was power—the power sealed within him. Although it was just a trickle, it was immensely beneficial. If his previous battle against Beidu Liufeng had been a narrow victory, now, with this newfound strength, Zuo Dao was confident he could deliver a severe beating to his opponent.
All of this transpired during the brief moments of his fall, resulting in significant changes within him. At the same time, he couldn't help but mock himself—was he destined to be a victim?
Beidu Liufeng, having landed a successful blow, returned to his previous state. Maintaining his perfect form required vast amounts of Spirit Energy, and even as a Cultivator of the Life and Death Realm, he wouldn't sustain it without necessity due to the immense consumption involved.
He waited for Zuo Dao to reappear. He sensed that his last attack had not inflicted any real damage on his opponent.
Just as Zuo Dao was about to rise and fly out from underground, Beidu Liufeng prepared to strike again when an unexpected change occurred.
The ground within a hundred miles began to collapse at an alarming speed, as if being devoured by an unseen void.
In mere moments, Zuo Dao's solitary figure emerged from the depths below. He looked curiously at the collapsing ground beneath him, as if something strange lay hidden there.
Beidu Liufeng soon realized that they were in a location designated as forbidden by the Northern Crossing Star's Cultivators. In the heat of battle, he had overlooked this critical detail.
This forbidden area was referred to by Northern Crossing Star's Cultivators as the "Dead Zone." The reason was simple: any Cultivator who entered this region would vanish without a trace. The Beidu Clan had previously sent people to investigate, but every single one had disappeared without return, leading them to ultimately abandon any further attempts.
In such a Dead Zone, it was astonishing that two individuals had managed to cause its collapse.
Most surprised was Zuo Dao, as he distinctly sensed fluctuations of an array deep below. It was buried far beneath the surface; had he not been struck down into the earth, he would never have discovered it.
After contemplating for a moment, Zuo Dao rose and flew downward toward the source of the energy. The ground continued to collapse around him as he followed the disappearing layers deeper into the abyss. After flying several hundred miles downwards, he finally reached an endpoint.
A thin Light Screen appeared before Zuo Dao, and behind it stood an enormous stone door, which opened outward. Countless flowers, birds, insects, and fish were intricately carved on the door, so lifelike that they seemed to have been born from the stone itself.
Beidu Liufeng looked down from above, curiosity stirring within him as a familiar aura wafted up from below. It was a sensation emanating from his Bloodline, comforting and intimate. Suddenly, a thought struck him.
Once the idea emerged, it could not be suppressed. The stone door became vividly clear in his mind, but just as he noticed a hidden Image upon it, it wavered in the void, nearly falling away.
Could this be real? Gazing at the concealed Image, tears unexpectedly streamed from his eyes.
A long howl pierced the air, though no one could hear it. He was calling out to several Elders of his Clan who were still in seclusion; the matter was too significant for him to remain silent.
"Hey, old man, this is your Immortal Ancestor's lair, right?" Zuo Dao suddenly called out to Beidu Liufeng as he looked at the massive stone door below.
"Since you know that, why don't you hurry up and leave?" Beidu Liufeng flew down to block Zuo Dao in front of the Light Screen. His eyes flashed with a fierce intensity.
"That's where you're wrong. No matter what, I helped you find your Ancient Ancestor's tomb. Instead of thanking me, you want to chase me away?" Zuo Dao shrugged, indifferent to Beidu Liufeng's attitude. "You didn't even know your Ancient Ancestor was buried here!"
To Zuo Dao's surprise, Beidu Liufeng did not retort. Seeing the expression on his face confirmed Zuo Dao's suspicions.
"Sigh, I knew it! You people really have no idea what you've done. You can't even reveal your ancestor's burial site—what a failure!" Zuo Dao's words nearly drove Beidu Liufeng to anger, yet the truth lay bare before them.
It was well-known that the Beidu Clan was founded by the Northern Crossing Immortal; even the Northern Crossing Star could belong to them. The fact that the Northern Crossing Immortal had passed away was common knowledge. However, what remained unknown was that even in death, he had not disclosed his burial place to his descendants.
The reason for this remained a mystery to the descendants of the Northern Crossing Immortal as well. They only knew that he had vanished without a trace before his time came. Aside from leaving behind a legacy, nothing else remained.
Had the Northern Crossing Immortal revealed his burial site, his remains would have commanded respect on Northern Crossing Star. A single immortal corpse equated to a semi-immortal existence; thus, the Fengdu Clan would not have declined so rapidly.
Now that the resting place of the Northern Crossing Immortal had been discovered, how could Beidu Liufeng not feel excited? How could he not be vigilant? Although there were still several Elders of the Beidu Clan alive on Northern Crossing Star, each loss was significant. Moreover, they sensed not only their own Life and Death Realm Cultivators but also several other Life and Death Realm presences nearby.
If it weren't for protecting their clan from a fatal blow, they would have stormed in long ago. Now that their ancestor's tomb had reemerged, it represented hope for the Beidu Clan—one that could not be allowed to fall into others' hands.
Helpless in front of the White-Clad Monk, he truly felt a lack of confidence. Having been struck down to the ground without a scratch, it seemed that the monk had only grown stronger. What kind of monster was this?
Zuo Dao could understand Beidu Liufeng's current mindset. It was shocking that even his own family was unaware of the location of their Ancient Ancestor's tomb. Now that it had been discovered, there was no guarantee they could keep it safe.
While battling Beidu Liufeng, Zuo Dao sensed no less than ten powerful presences on Northern Crossing Star. Among them, five were connected, while the others were scattered across various corners of the star.
From their positions, it was clear that aside from the Beidu Clan, there were other Life and Death Realm Cultivators present. If a fight broke out, even if the Beidu Clan emerged victorious, it would be a pyrrhic victory.
The two sides were at a stalemate. Zuo Dao ignored Beidu Liufeng and kept scrutinizing the Light Screen before him.
This Light Screen was also formed by an array, but it had been set up by the Northern Crossing Immortal. Zuo Dao had a high level of expertise in formations, yet he had never encountered the glass powder used by true immortals. The only celestial arrays he had seen were on two Celestial Artifacts.
The Light Screen was transparent, occasionally shimmering with colorful lights. Zuo Dao wanted to test its power but hesitated upon seeing Beidu Liufeng's expression and ultimately decided against it.
If anyone on Northern Crossing Star could activate this array, Zuo Dao thought to himself that aside from him, there might not be anyone capable of breaking it. The Beidu Clan might have some means, but given the Northern Crossing Immortal's demeanor, he felt that possibility was slim. Who would be so foolish as to conceal their burial site from their descendants while leaving behind such a ridiculous Light Screen for protection?
Beidu Liufeng felt troubled as well. Although the Northern Crossing Immortal had left them something valuable, he had hidden away the most important part. This was a tragedy for him and for the Beidu Clan. Without today's battle, who knew when they would have discovered it?
At this moment, Zuo Dao felt indebted to him. Thus, amid their complex emotions, the two waited for others to arrive.
