Xunuo felt relatively safe for the moment. As he flew away, he began to activate the sub-Formation Flags of the Heaven and Earth Four Killing Formation one by one.
Suddenly, Xunuo sensed a faint wave of magical energy ahead. He quickly deduced that it was the residual energy from a concealed Divine Sense formation, indicating an ambush ahead. However, the intensity of this magical fluctuation was not alarming; it was merely the energy of a Foundation Stage Practitioner. This could only be emanating from an Evil Cultivator lying in wait to ambush him, as no one could predict Xunuo's escape route.
Xunuo swiftly formed hand seals, unleashing Hellfire with his left hand and the Yimu Qinglei Method with his right.
While releasing the Heavenly Shadow Spike would have been more powerful, he had stronger opponents behind him and needed to conserve some magical energy. Moreover, after advancing to Eleven Layers, his magical power had surged, making these two spells significantly more potent than before.
The Hellfire erupted in an eerie black flame, transforming into a fire dragon that charged forward, shattering the Divine Sense formation and forcing five hidden Cultivators to jump out in panic. Following closely were over ten Thunderballs from the Yi Wood Azure Thunder Technique, which exploded with deafening blasts. The Cultivators were left battered and bruised, with one particularly weak practitioner dying on the spot.
At that moment, Xunuo darted past without giving the Evil Cultivators a chance to retaliate.
The remaining four Evil Cultivators had barely recovered from the thunderous shock when they witnessed an even more terrifying scene: Ni Bingmo arrived right behind two disciples from a Cultivation Family. Once within range of their magical power, he unleashed a thunderous slash spell that instantly bisected both disciples along with their Flying Artifacts. Blood rained down upon the four Evil Cultivators.
As they stood there in shock, Ni Bingmo zipped past them, continuing his pursuit of Xunuo. After a moment, one Evil Cultivator sighed, "What we do is truly a perilous profession. If more of these defiant Cultivators appear, we might have to find another line of work."
Another lightly injured Cultivator cursed angrily, "I refuse to believe that all these Loose Cultivators are so powerful that they can cut off my livelihood."
When they glanced at each other, they realized they were all injured; one even had half of his arm charred black. They stopped their complaints and took out pills to heal their wounds and recover their magical energy.
After slaying the two disciples from the Cultivation Family, Ni Bingmo maintained his speed in pursuit of Xunuo. However, after chasing for a while, he lost confidence because Xunuo's escape speed was not any slower than his own.
Ni Bingmo's ferocity surged as he shouted at Xunuo, "Kid, leave the Heaven and Earth Four Killing Formation behind for me! Otherwise, I will tear you apart even if I have to chase you to the ends of the earth!"
Xunuo completely ignored this threat. There was no way he would part with the Heaven and Earth Four Killing Formation; it was his most reliable safeguard at this moment. Besides, there was a strong possibility that even fiercer opponents were pursuing him from behind. In fact, Xunuo preferred for Ni Bingmo to get entangled in that chaos.

In unison, they made an absurd decision: they all fell to the ground pretending to be dead.
The two streaks of light passed overhead without pausing for a moment and vanished in an instant. Moments later, the four got up and scattered like birds startled from their perch; this time they were genuinely terrified enough to consider changing professions.
The two beams of escape light were a mix of crimson and azure, with the azure light being slightly more dominant as it rapidly approached Xunuo and Ni Bingmo's Flying Artifact. Ni Bingmo was the first to notice the two beams trailing behind them. Upon closer inspection, he realized that they were not from a Flying Artifact but rather from swords flying through the air.
With no time to curse Xunuo, Ni Bingmo's mind was filled with desperate thoughts of how to escape.
The two pursuers included one who was a Foundation Establishment Mid-Stage Cultivator from the Insect Path, and the other was a Foundation Establishment Ancestor from a Cultivation Family.
This Foundation Establishment Ancestor had sensed the moment Ni Bingmo killed two of his younger clan members. He immediately released his Flying Sword Artifact and pursued with intent to kill.
The Divine Sense and magical power of a Foundation Stage Cultivator far surpassed that of a Foundation Stage Practitioner. As soon as he was within range of his Divine Sense, he sensed that it was Ni Bingmo who had slain his kin. Seeing that the Insect Manipulation Cultivator was fleeing faster than himself, he decided to have him deal with Ni Bingmo first.
For the Insect Manipulation Cultivator, this was merely a casual task. Now that he had received news about Xunuo from this Cultivation Family, he quickly followed after Ni Bingmo.
Realizing that the two Foundation Establishment Stage experts were closing in on him, Ni Bingmo had no choice but to abandon his plan to activate the Heaven and Earth Four Killing Formation. He sensed that the two pursuers were not after him but rather after Xunuo ahead.
Although he prided himself on his powerful magic, he wasn't arrogant enough to challenge a Foundation Stage Cultivator. Continuing to pursue would likely endanger his life. Thus, Ni Bingmo changed direction and flew away.
Seeing Ni Bingmo change course, the Insect Manipulation Cultivator had no intention of letting Xunuo go. However, as he passed by Ni Bingmo's escape route, he shot a palm strike toward him before continuing his pursuit of Xunuo without slowing down.
Ni Bingmo felt a spell coming at him and quickly activated his Magic Shield to its maximum capacity. The next moment, a spell resembling a blade of wind slashed against his Magic Shield from behind. It instantly broke through the shield and struck at Ni Bingmo.
Having anticipated this attack, Ni Bingmo had already prepared an Earth Shield spell and a Wood Shield talisman behind him. With a loud thud, both defenses managed to block the deadly strike. Even so, Ni Bingmo spat out blood as he dissipated some of the spell's residual force.
However, this did not bring him any relief. Instead, his expression darkened further as he pressed against both sides of his black Flying Artifact. To his shock, two cracks appeared where he held it tightly. This Flying Artifact was designed for speed above all else.
Such Flying Artifacts typically did not prioritize defense or passenger capacity. Although the Insect Manipulation Cultivator's palm strike did not inflict significant injury on Ni Bingmo, it caused catastrophic damage to the Flying Artifact. Ni Bingmo struggled to keep it intact as its structure began to collapse, causing his escape speed to plummet.
At that moment, the Foundation Establishment Ancestor from the Cultivation Family also changed direction and pursued Ni Bingmo directly.
Now truly anxious, Ni Bingmo realized that this Flying Artifact could not hold up much longer; its speed had drastically decreased. If things continued like this, he would inevitably be caught.
Ni Bingmo couldn't help but curse Xunuo again. If only he had obtained the Heaven and Earth Four Killing Formation, he wouldn't be in such a dire situation now. Resolutely, he made a detour and headed back toward Xunuo's direction.

Moments later, the Foundation Stage Cultivator from the Insect Path arrived. After sweeping his Divine Sense across the area, he ignored the scattered Substitution Talismans entirely. These were merely low-level talismans that could not deceive his keen perception. After observing the forest for a moment longer, he suddenly snorted coldly and dove into the trees below.
But in an instant, the situation before him changed dramatically. The Insect Path Foundation Stage Cultivator exclaimed in alarm as his sword flew upward. Suddenly, he felt his mana solidify, becoming sluggish. A torrent of molten lava appeared around him, engulfing him entirely.
This Insect Path Foundation Stage Cultivator possessed both Water and Wood Spiritual Roots. In such an environment, he faced both advantages and disadvantages. However, with his mana operating poorly, the disadvantages became even more pronounced.
And this was just the beginning. The next moment, a thunderous crash echoed above him as a massive Thunder Ball came crashing down relentlessly. The Insect Manipulation Cultivator immediately realized he had fallen into a trap, one set by the infamous Heaven and Earth Four Killing Formation.
The Insect Manipulation Cultivator's face turned pale, and he felt a chill run through his body. The only way to break this formation was to locate its core and dismantle it piece by piece. This formation also had a flaw: if one of its cores was destroyed, its power would diminish significantly, making it easier to break further.
At that moment, however, the Insect Path Foundation Stage Cultivator had no time to dismantle the formation. He quickly performed hand seals, summoning two shields above his head—one azure and one black—each about the size of a palm. With a flick of his wrist, they expanded to a full yard in diameter. The Black Shield rose above him, completely blocking the Thunder Ball. A translucent Flying Sword slashed downwards, cutting a gap through the boiling lava.
Just as the Insect Manipulation Cultivator was about to step out of the lava, Xunuo suddenly appeared outside the formation and waved the Main Array Flag in his hand. Instantly, wind blades, Thunder Balls, rolling stones, and golden blades all materialized simultaneously, raining down upon the Insect Path Foundation Stage Cultivator.
Furious beyond measure, the Insect Path Foundation Stage Cultivator shouted loudly. He halted his steps and pushed both the azure and black Shield Artifacts to their limits, blocking all incoming attacks.
However, these attacks were indiscriminately aimed at him. At this moment, the flaws of his two Defensive Artifacts became apparent.
Among these two Defensive Artifacts, the Black Shield was purely defensive against Thunder Law attacks. The Azure Shield provided comprehensive defense but was insufficient against Thunder Law. This forced him to individually refine another artifact specifically for defending against Thunder Law.
If the wind blades, Thunder Balls, rolling stones, and golden blades had fallen one after another, he could have alternated between his two Defensive Artifacts for adequate protection.
