Xunuo had long exhausted his magical power. Seeing Purple Corpse lying on the ground, he grasped a spirit stone in each hand to recover his energy.
Time passed, though he couldn't tell how long. When Xunuo finally opened his eyes, he found Ruan Jingtian, Qiu Chengyu, and Master Wu Fa standing before a stone wall, deep in thought.
The other Zhu Xiu were still recovering their magic. A smirk crossed Xunuo's face as he thought to himself that these individuals were not as capable as he was.
In reality, Xunuo was mistaken. The others had given Ruan Jingtian excessive magical power, exhausting themselves in the process. Especially towards the end, it wasn't that they willingly transferred their energy; rather, Ruan Jingtian had forcibly absorbed their magic. The consequence of this action was that if they didn't recover their power in time, they risked falling into the Realm. This made the Zhu Xiu feel both fear and resentment towards Ruan Jingtian.
Although Qiu Chengyu and Master Wu Fa stood at the stone wall with him, they clearly dared not stand beside him but instead took a step back to position themselves behind him.
At this moment, Xunuo had the leisure to observe the stone chamber. He noticed that it was square-shaped, over ten zhang high and more than a thousand zhang wide, with walls made of hard black rock. However, Xunuo quickly understood why Ruan Jingtian and the others were standing there lost in thought.
It turned out that the entire stone chamber had only one area featuring a Moon Gate-shaped light curtain. This Moon Gate-shaped light curtain was also black but distinctly different from the black of the rock walls; it could be easily distinguished at a glance.
Curious, Xunuo walked over and paused to take a closer look. The light curtain was level with the walls of the chamber, appearing as one seamless entity. Upon probing with his Divine Sense, he discovered that this black light curtain was extraordinarily strange. It was composed of countless bizarre runes. These runes seemed chaotic at first glance but contained hidden mysteries. Moreover, these runes shifted positions according to a complex and unfathomable pattern, causing the light curtain to emit a faint glow continuously.
Although Xunuo had interacted with weapon refiners in Chaotic Valley and collected a complete set of refining runes, he was still an outsider in this field. After observing for a moment, he realized that this light curtain was beyond his ability to find any flaws.
Moments later, Ruan Jingtian shook his head and said, "This ancient restriction is enigmatic and beyond my capabilities. Qiu Daoist should be prepared."
Qiu Chengyu quickly replied, "Fairy Liu Ru Yan's ancestors specialized in breaking ancient restrictions; we could invite Liu Xianzi to consult on this matter; she may have a way to break it."
Ruan Jingtian thought for a moment and said, "Then let's wait for Liu Xianzi to awaken before discussing how to break this restriction."
Qiu Chengyu felt relieved. He had genuinely worried that this skeleton-like figure named Tu Gang would force him to wake Liu Ru Yan abruptly, which could potentially lead her to go astray in her cultivation.
Qiu Chengyu was already feeling a sense of retreat. Just being outside the Ancient Cultivation Cave was a matter of life and death. Breaking into the Ancient Cultivation Cave would be a one-way trip to doom. None of his companions possessed the unusual skills needed to subdue demons and monsters. Master Wu Fa and Qiu Chengyu's faces changed dramatically, and their magical shields lit up in an instant.
Ruan Jingtian, however, laughed heartily. With a shake of his Formation Flag, the fierce Thunder Law force vanished without a trace.
Master Wu Fa and Qiu Chengyu exchanged glances, their hearts sinking as they lowered their heads in silence.
Ruan Jingtian turned back to Xunuo and said, "This friend... Lu Daoyou, if you have any means to save your life, now is the time to use them. At this point, it seems that the Ancient Cultivation Cave is not a safe place. Don't wait until we break through the Restriction before you try to save yourself; it will be too late."
Seeing that Ruan Jingtian had not revealed his true name, Xunuo understood that he did not yet intend to eliminate them all. He had left a sliver of Vitality for Qiu Chengyu and the others. At the same time, Xunuo could see Ruan Jingtian's determination to succeed in this endeavor.
Without further ado, Xunuo threw out his Defensive Array, covering Ruan Jingtian's Thunder Law attack formation.
Ruan Jingtian nodded and said, "With these two formations combined, while it may not be as flexible as the Three Talents Confining Dragon Formation, its offensive and defensive power is still quite formidable. If we had set up this formation earlier to kill that Purple Corpse, we wouldn't have had to go through such trouble."
Xunuo thought to himself: I didn't know the Purple Corpse was so powerful; it's understandable that I wasn't prepared. But you knew how dangerous our situation was yet failed to set up a preemptive strike while spouting such pretentious words. I really can't tell if you've lost your mind from Crimson Fire Ant Venom or if you've become overconfident without Master of Chaos Mountain Valley around.
These thoughts were hard to voice directly; Xunuo could only roll his eyes after silently cursing him.
Moments later, Zhu Xiu awoke from meditation one after another. Qiu Chengyu relayed the situation to Zhu Xiu. The expressions on everyone's faces turned pale with uncertainty. However, no one dared to speak out against it lightly. With the exit blocked by formations, they were even less inclined to suggest retreating; they merely huddled together with utmost caution.
Ruan Jingtian paid no mind to this at all. For him, as long as Xunuo stood by his side, the others posed no threat of resistance whatsoever. Ruan Jingtian remained silent but cast a glance at Qiu Chengyu.
Qiu Chengyu had no choice but to step forward. He said to Liu Ru Yan, "Please, Liu Xianzi, comprehend this Restriction. Is there any way to break it?"
Liu Ru Yan steeled herself and approached the Barrier Screen. She extended her Divine Sense inside to examine it closely.
After a meal's time, Liu Ru Yan slowly spoke, "This is a one-way sealing Restriction. However, this Restriction is extremely complex, and I am unable to break it. If brute force is to be used, this Restriction fears the Thunder Law the most."
Ruan Jingtian nodded thoughtfully, feeling a desire to try.
Xunuo furrowed his brows and suddenly asked, "Why?"
Ruan Jingtian turned to look at Xunuo, puzzled by his abrupt question.
Xunuo then looked at Liu Ru Yan and asked, "Why is it a one-way Restriction? Does what Liu Xianzi said mean that it prohibits entry?"
Liu Ru Yan shook her head and replied, "Not exactly. This is a type of sealing ban. The Restriction seals from the outside and can only be broken from the outside as well. Even if one's methods are ten times more brilliant, it cannot be broken from within."
Xunuo's frown deepened as he said, "If what Liu Xianzi says is true, then this Ancient Cultivation Cave either has been abandoned by its inhabitants or contains something sealed within. Neither of these scenarios is good news."
Upon hearing Xunuo's words, all the Cultivators, including Ruan Jingtian, fell into contemplation. This was undoubtedly a difficult choice.
