Xunuo felt a sense of relief upon seeing the lake. After all, with such a vast expanse of water, there was no need to be cramped together with the others.
The lake stretched out endlessly, bordered by even more expansive mountains and dense forests. The roars of fierce beasts echoed through the woods, and birds of prey soared in the sky. However, Xunuo and the others felt no trace of spiritual energy.
Xiang Youhe explained, "We have set up a massive Shielding Array around the lake. This prevents any spiritual energy from leaking out, allowing us five to keep this secret for so long. But I wonder how this beast managed to uncover our hidden location."
Wang Lizun asked, "So you're saying that beast is somewhere in these woods?"

Xiang Youhe shook his head. "Not at all. The spiritual energy here comes entirely from the lake itself. It's just that Lake Heart Island is surrounded by water, making its energy slightly stronger than that of the surrounding area."

However, for Wang Lizun and his companion, this place felt like a paradise—a divine Cave.
The two eagerly drank from the lake's water, further solidifying their resolve to slay the beast and reclaim Spirit Land.
Though Spirit Lake was vast, they could still make out the green of Lake Heart Island as they drew closer. It appeared that there was even a small peak on the island. After taking a brief rest by the lakeside, they stepped onto the waves and headed straight for Lake Heart Island.
Using Xunuo's Divine Sense, he detected the beast several miles away on the island. It had burrowed into a small hill and was currently tearing apart and devouring a large fish inside its cave.
The beast was over ten feet long and covered in scales resembling those of an armadillo. However, its scales were a dull yellow color, and when standing, its limbs were much longer than those of an armadillo. As it tore into the fish, its teeth gleamed like steel knives and its claws were sharp as blades. Moments later, it seemed to sense that cultivators were approaching its island. With a roar, it charged out of its cave and began to roar at Xunuo and his companions as if claiming this place as its own.
Wang Lizun stepped onto the island first. From afar, he unleashed a powerful Wind Blade Spell that sliced through the air towards the beast. The Wind Blade Spell cut through space with a sharp whistling sound as it struck against the beast's scales but left not even a mark.
However, this attack provoked the beast's ferocity. Its mouth opened wide as a yellow mist erupted forth. The mist quickly transformed into a massive boulder as it hurtled toward Wang Lizun's head. Xiang Youhe had already informed Xunuo and others that this beast excelled at Earth Attribute Spells.
Seeing the beast unleash a barrage of Rolling Stones, Wang Lizun dared not confront it head-on and swiftly dodged away with agile movements.
This is a dodging spell called "Aurora Movie." It is highly effective for short-range evasion and has some teleportation effects. Xunuo has always been envious of this spell and has put considerable effort into practicing it. However, when used by Xunuo, the results have been mediocre—sometimes it works, but more often than not, it fails.

However, with a furious roar, the beast shook off the flames and leaped out unscathed, locking its gaze onto Xunuo. It opened its mouth wide, unleashing a barrage of rolling stones toward him.
Xunuo was always cautious, prioritizing defense and escape. He had already prepared the incantation for the Vine Binding Shield Technique and remained patient. As the rolling stones came flying toward him, he chanted the shield incantation. Instantly, a massive vine shield appeared a few feet in front of him.
The head-sized rolling stones struck the vine shield with force. The shield trembled violently in front of Xunuo, appearing precarious as some areas showed signs of damage. It seemed on the verge of being pierced. Yet behind the shield, Xunuo remained calm and composed.
In an instant, the vine shield seemed to come alive. The damaged areas began to repair themselves at a visible speed, becoming thicker and sturdier as it blocked all the rolling stones aimed at Xunuo.
Seeing that its attacks had failed multiple times, the beast suddenly twisted its body and burrowed into the ground. Wang Lizun shouted urgently, "It's trying to escape!"
The next moment, the ground before an eight-layer Cultivator rippled. The beast reappeared abruptly and swiped its claws, tearing this Cultivator in half. The crowd gasped in shock as Huang Lunxiong shouted loudly, "Earth Escape Technique! This is an Ironclad Mountain Beast!"
Upon hearing this, Xunuo recalled reading about this type of beast in "Beasts and Beast Materials Comprehensive Guide." Its claws, armor, and fangs were extremely rare refining materials. However, what made this beast most coveted was its innate sensing ability for spiritual energy and treasures.

Xunuo immediately dismissed any lingering thoughts and subtly altered his incantation. After tearing apart a Cultivator, the Ironclad Mountain Beast grew even more aggressive. It spun its claws on the ground and began to burrow underground again with another Earth Escape attempt. Suddenly, a thick vine shot up from below and wrapped around one of its hind legs before quickly coiling upward to restrain it.
The Ironclad Mountain Beast swung its steel claws to sever the vine into pieces. However, in that brief moment, several more vines burst forth from the ground and targeted each of its limbs. The beast flailed wildly to break free from them one by one. Yet no matter how many vines it destroyed, they continued to sprout like mushrooms after rain—endlessly wrapping around it again and again.
The Ironclad Mountain Beast was trapped in place by an endless tangle of vines. Xunuo let out a cold laugh and pointed a hand towards the sky, uttering a single word: "Swift."
In an instant, the sky darkened, and a mass of black clouds appeared. Thunder rumbled within the clouds. In the blink of an eye, more than ten Thunder Balls fell from the sky. These Thunder Balls were the size of fists, their surfaces shimmering with green lightning. With a flash, they struck the Ironclad Mountain Beast. It let out a mournful howl and collapsed to the ground. Upon closer inspection, its back was charred black, with several areas exposing flesh and bone, blood gushing forth.
According to the Comprehensive Guide to Beasts and Beast Materials, the Ironclad Mountain Beast had a tough armored shell and strong defenses, but it was somewhat wary of Lightning Attribute Spells. Knowing what it was, Xunuo naturally had a way to deal with it. The attempt proved successful.
Seeing that the Thunder Law was effective, the other cultivators quickly unleashed their spells, sending bolts of lightning crashing down upon the Ironclad Mountain Beast.
