Thus, he regarded Xunuo—an inexperienced beginner in Alchemy—with some disdain. It was only due to Xi Dao Jing's significant gesture and respect for Xi Dao Jing's influence as a powerful figure that Zhou Laifu reluctantly agreed to come and share his experience.
After Xi Dao Jing finished introducing them, Zhou Laifu said indifferently, "I have been sent by my fellow Daoist to offer some guidance. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. However, I am not idle; please ask quickly so I can return sooner."
Seeing this, Xunuo decided not to enter the Cave and instead asked directly outside. What Xunuo wanted to know was how to control the timing of separating the elixir during the refining process. He had pondered over the previous steps several times and felt there were no major issues.
Zhou Laifu was surprised that Xunuo could get straight to the point and ask about the core issue. Generally, outsiders who came as Alchemists would take a long time before reaching the crucial question of separation.

When Xi Dao Jing saw that Xunuo had no intention of inviting him into the Cave, he had no choice but to take his leave.

The pursuing Evil Cultivator was clearly from the Black Dragon Society. He knew that any Cultivator who opened a Cave here was either an Alchemist or a Refiner—people he couldn't afford to offend. This Cultivator shouted a few questions outside the formation, inquiring if anyone had seen an intruder. Xunuo held no good feelings towards the Black Dragon Society and secretly hoped this fellow would also stumble in so he could take advantage of the situation and eliminate him. The Evil Cultivator knew very well that his target had entered in front of's formation. However, he didn't dare to utter any harsh words and left in frustration.
Chaotic Valley absolutely protects Alchemists and Refiners but does not prohibit them from acting against others. Offending them is akin to seeking death.
Seeing that the fellow left without further ado, Xunuo couldn't be bothered with him anymore. He buried the unfortunate Cultivator and opened his two storage bags, only to be taken aback. He realized that letting the Evil Cultivator from the Black Dragon Society go might have been a mistake.
In one of the storage bags, there was a spirit stone capable of instantly replenishing mana. Xunuo already owned one of these stones and was very satisfied with how quickly it restored his mana.
