At a certain moment, the mist before Xunuo dissipated, revealing a spectacular sight. The rainbow bridge stretched hundreds of feet long, emerging from the fog behind and arching across to a distant Giant Peak. This mountain was characterized by its jagged cliffs and bizarre rock formations, towering dozens or even hundreds of times larger than Dongfang Yunqing's Stone Pillar Peak. The bridge was completely empty above and below, where a bottomless abyss churned with rolling white clouds. The fierce wind howled like a blade, causing their garments to flap wildly. If an ordinary person were to step onto this bridge, they would likely be swept away by a gust.
Xunuo stared blankly for a moment, thinking to himself: This is true divine craftsmanship; everything I’ve seen before pales in comparison.
Noticing Xunuo's dazed expression, Dongfang Yunqing didn’t rush him but continued walking slowly ahead. After a brief moment, Xunuo saw other cultivators following behind and hurried to catch up with Dongfang Yunqing.
Though the wind was fierce, it posed little challenge for cultivators like Xunuo. Some of the less experienced ones immediately activated their Magic Shields. Despite his robe flapping wildly and his headband fluttering in the wind, Xunuo relished the exhilarating sensation of the gale against his skin. Feeling he could still endure it, he chose not to activate his Magic Shield. Thus, they strode briskly across the rainbow bridge and arrived atop the Giant Peak.
This Giant Peak served as a reception area for the Jin Family, featuring countless pavilions built into the mountainside. Each pavilion had its own relatively independent space. From afar, they appeared densely packed, yet up close they felt spacious. Due to the undulating terrain and staggered pavilions, it was difficult to see between them. Only upon reaching this Giant Peak did Xunuo gain a full view of Dome Mountain and the Jin Family.
He finally understood why it was called Dome Mountain.
This reception area on the Giant Peak was not the Main Peak of Round Dome Mountain but one of four peaks that surrounded it. The Main Peak of Round Dome Mountain sat in the center of these four surrounding peaks. Its height was immeasurable; compared to it, the four Wei Peaks seemed like mere dwarfs.
True to its name, the Main Peak of Round Dome Mountain had a rounded and flat summit, as if some celestial force had sliced off its top. Even so, this main peak still towered over the four Wei Peaks by a hundred feet. A ten-foot-wide rainbow bridge connected this main peak with its two subordinate peaks.
Seeing Xunuo's astonishment at the sight, Dongfang Yunqing chuckled and explained, “The one in the middle is the Main Peak of Round Dome Mountain; this Trade Fair will be held there as well. However, our accommodations are on this Wei Peak beneath us. Today’s Trade Fair at Dome Mountain hosted by the Jin Family hasn’t officially opened yet. But some eager Loose Cultivators have already occupied advantageous positions on the main peak and begun trading. If you’re not in a hurry to rest, I can take you to check out the Trade Fair.”
Xunuo quickly replied, “Then I’ll trouble you, Dongfang Daoist.”
Dongfang Yunqing smiled and waved dismissively before leading Xunuo across another rainbow bridge toward the Main Peak of Round Dome Mountain.
On the road, Dongfang Yunqing explained some things to Xunuo. Usually, there are rainbow bridges connecting the four Wei Peaks of Dome Mountain. Each of the four Wei Peaks is also connected to the main peak by rainbow bridges. It is only during the Trade Fair that the guest peaks are separately connected to the main peak, cutting off ties with other Wei Peaks. If one were to come here at other times, the scene would be even more spectacular.
The Jin Family's Trade Fair on the main peak of Dome Mountain does not charge any additional fees. They only collect a participation fee of one spirit stone from each person entering the mountain. Each pavilion can accommodate ten people, and the rent for the entire thirty-day Trade Fair is ten spirit stones. After hearing this explanation, Xunuo gained a clearer understanding of the Jin Family's Trade Fair at Dome Mountain.
Upon arriving at the Trade Fair site, Xunuo's mind buzzed, and a look of astonishment appeared on his face. The Trade Fair was held in an incredibly vast open square. The atmosphere was already bustling with noise, filled with countless Cultivators, just like in a Mortal Market. The Cultivators selling items had casually placed their goods on the ground.
What shocked Xunuo the most was the sheer number of Cultivators present. He could count all the Cultivators he had seen before, but he had never imagined that there would be such a large base of Cultivators. As he looked around the square, he estimated there were thousands of people. Xunuo couldn't fathom where so many Cultivators usually concealed themselves.
Dongfang Yunqing pulled Xunuo into the square. Once they entered the Trade Fair area, Xunuo had no time to think about anything else. His eyes were captivated by all sorts of strange and wonderful things from the world of Cultivation that he had never seen or heard of before. The stalls at this Trade Fair primarily sold various materials. Other items included talismans, formations, manuals, and elixirs, leaving Xunuo overwhelmed.
Although this Trade Fair seemed chaotic with its stalls, it generally followed a pattern where similar items were grouped together for trading. The area where Xunuo and Dongfang Yunqing walked happened to be relatively concentrated with herbal medicine stalls.
Having previously mingled in Wuhua Sect's Herb Valley, Xunuo now felt like an outsider as he looked around curiously. Many herbs from the mundane world appeared in formulas and prescriptions within the Cultivation realm. However, compared to the vast array of herbs in the Cultivation world, the names of mundane herbs were just a drop in the bucket.
As they continued walking, Xunuo felt his horizons broadened. Whenever he saw unfamiliar herbs, he hurriedly asked the stall owners about them. If he found something useful or rare, he would buy one or two plants. However, Xunuo only purchased seedlings and seeds; mature herbs were prohibitively expensive, making even someone as wealthy as him grimace at their prices.
After buying some items, Xunuo hesitated to make further purchases because Dongfang Yunqing found it strange and asked him why he was buying these seeds and seedlings. These herbs required hundreds of years or even several hundred years to be usable for Alchemy. Only certain sects or families would cultivate them for future generations. Loose Cultivators like Dongfang Yunqing would spend large sums on elixirs instead. Even if a Loose Cultivator was also an Alchemist, they would only buy mature herbs; they would never buy seedlings or seeds for cultivation as it would be futile and offer no benefits to themselves.
Xunuo then realized that his actions might attract more attention than purchasing mature herbs would have done. Although he dared not continue buying seedlings and seeds, he was unwilling to return empty-handed and began inquiring about various herbs' properties and names.
Finally unable to hold back any longer, Dongfang Yunqing said from behind him, "Xue Dao You, if you keep asking like this, when will it ever end? Why not buy a comprehensive formula book on herbs from the Cultivation realm? That would solve all these problems at once."
Upon hearing that such a simple solution existed, Xunuo hurriedly asked, "Is there such a book? Please lead me there, Dao Friend Dongfang."
Dongfang Yunqing led Xunuo to a market that sold books and jade slips. Upon arrival, Xunuo noticed that not only were there various Basic Skill Method manuals, but also a wide range of information about demon beasts, medicinal herbs, formulas, and refining materials. It was truly a treasure trove of knowledge.
After some thought, Xunuo decided to purchase four jade slips from a stall that offered comprehensive information. The first was "Complete Guide to Cultivation," which provided an overview of the entire Central Continent's cultivation realm. The second was "Beasts and Beast Materials Comprehensive Guide," detailing the distribution of demon beasts and the uses of Demon Beast Materials. The third was "Complete Guide to Alchemical Formulas," which included several widely circulated formulas in the cultivation world, including the recipe for the Unity Pill, along with descriptions of common and some rare medicinal herbs. The fourth slip was "Refining Tools and Materials Comprehensive Guide," which briefly discussed the history of tool refining and introduced the properties of various refining materials.
With these four jade slips in hand, Xunuo lost interest in wandering around the Trade Fair and suggested they return to rest. In truth, he wanted to study the contents of the jade slips thoroughly.
Dongfang Yunqing felt delighted upon hearing this; he had grown weary of trailing behind and had no interest in alchemy or the herbs at all. When Xunuo expressed his desire to go back, Dongfang Yunqing hurriedly agreed, fearing that Xunuo might change his mind along the way.
They arrived at Host's Peak, where they rented a pavilion. The others were resting in their respective rooms. Knowing that his companions were feeling frustrated and gloomy, Dongfang Yunqing chose not to disturb them and suggested that Xunuo pick an empty room to rest in. He then returned to his own room.
The small building had two floors with five rooms on each level, plus a living room on the first floor. When Black Wind Old Monster arrived, he immediately chose a room on the first floor. The others preferred not to share space with him and opted for rooms on the second floor instead. Seeing that there was still an available room upstairs, Xunuo decided to stay on the second floor as well, feeling equally disdainful of Black Wind Old Monster's presence.
