The Azure Wood Fox, pursuing Xunuo, appeared at the entrance of the passage and let out a fierce roar. The sound was filled with unwillingness and despair. It then turned its gaze towards the Rift Boar, a glint of malice flashing in its eyes. With a swift motion, it unleashed several Thunder Balls that shot towards the Rift Boar.
The sudden onslaught of Thunder Balls caught the Rift Boar off guard, leaving it no time to evade. It had no choice but to summon its Yellow Light to withstand the attack. In an instant, there was a loud explosion, and the Rift Boar was left charred and blackened, resembling a roasted pig. Although it let out a mournful cry, it was not dead yet; however, it had lost all ability to resist. It lay trembling on the ground, devoid of even the courage to flee.
The Azure Wood Fox harbored intense hatred for this Pig Demon. Not only had it failed to stop the Human Cultivators, but it had also allowed its companion to be severely injured. If it weren't for the need to leave some beasts behind as guards, it would have directly killed this useless creature. Seeing the pitiful state of the Rift Boar only fueled its anger further as it let out another furious roar before following the trail of its companion's blood.
Meanwhile, Xunuo was not faring any better. A spell from the Rift Boar had struck him with Yellow Light, causing a wound that seemed to threaten his insides. There was no time for healing; he could only use some of his Mind Power to protect the wound and prevent his insides from spilling out. The blood that flowed freely was beyond his control.
Xunuo's remaining magical energy was entirely focused on the Heavenly Shadow Spike. He felt strained and unable to spare any power to manage his injuries.
He dared not slow down his escape light. Continuously drawing spiritual energy from spirit stones and converting it into magical power, he propelled the Heavenly Shadow Spike forward while retrieving a bottle of Revival Powder to consume. He also applied what little remained of a Reattachment Ointment to his wound in a desperate attempt to halt its deterioration, but he lacked the strength to refine its effects. His priority was survival; he would find time later to heal properly.
At that moment, he suddenly heard someone shout from behind, "Xue Dao You, slow down! Those beasts won't dare come out. Wait for me; I have something to say."
Xunuo realized that Liu Qishan had also rushed into the passage. Given his severe injuries and precarious situation, he had no trust in Liu Qishan or his companions. Moreover, he had revealed his secret regarding hidden artifacts and did not wish to end up as a victim of robbery. Thus, he maintained his speed without any hesitation and continued flying towards the other end of the passage.
However, Liu Qishan saw that Xunuo showed no signs of stopping and shouted angrily, "Little thief! Leave behind your artifact if you want to live; otherwise, don't blame me for being ruthless! Even if you escape to the ends of the earth, I will dig three feet into the ground to find you!"
Xunuo paused upon hearing this. He had thought that if he escaped with his life, they would part ways without further entanglements. But Liu Qishan's words forced him to reconsider the consequences of this situation.
Xunuo could not hide in Wuhua Sect forever; eventually, he would have to navigate through the cultivation world. If Liu Qishan had set his sights on him, it would only be a matter of time before they crossed paths again. With Liu Qishan's profound realm and magical power, Xunuo knew he would be utterly powerless to resist. It would be better to take advantage of Liu Qishan's current injuries and weakened state now than wait until he was fully recovered. Besides, if news about Xunuo's hidden artifacts spread from Liu Qishan's mouth, he would surely meet a grim fate.
With this thought in mind, Xunuo urged his Heavenly Shadow Spike forward. Two Heavenly Shadow Spikes detached from him and surged back towards Liu Qishan—one still radiating blue-black light with a thunderous sound aimed at him while the other shrank down to three inches in size with diminished brilliance trailing behind it.
Liu Qishan was furious and shouted, "You little thief dare!"
He took out a defensive Talisman and slapped it onto himself. The blue protective Blue Shield instantly solidified and transformed into a blue and yellow hue. With his other hand, he formed a seal and pointed at the incoming Heavenly Shadow Spike. Suddenly, several ice spikes, each over a foot long, shot toward the Heavenly Shadow Spike.
In an instant, the two forces collided. The Heavenly Shadow Spike only hesitated slightly before breaking through the ice spikes like a hot knife through butter, striking Liu Qishan's Blue Shield. A loud clang echoed as the protective Blue Shield shook violently, causing Liu Qishan to stagger. His blood surged, and a strange flush appeared on his face.
The Heavenly Shadow Spike was repelled but continued to spin rapidly as another one flew toward Liu Qishan. It pierced through his Blue Shield with incredible speed. Finally, the Blue Shield could no longer withstand the assault and shattered.
The Heavenly Shadow Spike maintained its momentum, spinning as it pierced through Liu Qishan's chest. Liu Qishan's eyes widened in disbelief as he collapsed to the ground.
Xunuo launched a fireball that instantly turned him to ashes. He raised his hand to collect Liu Qishan's storage bag and swiftly retreated with the Heavenly Shadow Spike.
Xunuo had initially planned to use this move against the Rift Boar but ended up using it on Liu Qishan instead, making his efforts worthwhile.
After escaping through the passage, Xunuo expanded his Divine Sense to explore before choosing a direction to flee.
He knew that this passage was not the same one he had entered, so he couldn't identify his exact location. What he urgently needed was to find a secluded place to heal his injuries and restore his mana.
Moments later, Xunuo found himself in a natural cave within a ravine. He summoned the Heavenly Shadow Spike inside the cave, cut a block of stone, and sealed the entrance. Then he sat cross-legged and began to channel his mana to heal his wounds.
Xunuo's injuries were severe this time. Additionally, he had not fully recovered from his battle with the Black Fox Demon. The combination of both injuries made his situation even more perilous. If not treated promptly, it could threaten his life.
Although Cultivators have bodies different from ordinary people and can usually withstand common injuries without fatal consequences, injuries to vital organs must be healed in time. Otherwise, he risked losing cultivation or even death.
Xunuo had spent an entire month in meditation to heal the injured, and finally, as the patient opened their eyes, they were fully restored. Looking around, Xunuo murmured, "This place is quite secluded, but the spiritual energy is too thin."
After pondering for a moment, Xunuo unfastened several storage bags from their waist and placed them in front of.
As Xunuo gazed at the row of storage bags laid out in front of, they couldn't help but mutter to themselves: when there was none, there was not even one; now that there were some, suddenly there were so many.
After grumbling a few words under their breath, Xunuo picked up one of the storage bags. With a flick of their wrist, the contents spilled out in a rush. In an instant, the small cave was filled to the brim. Xunuo nearly got buried under this pile of items, and various odors assaulted their senses.
Looking through the heap of items, Xunuo found all sorts of Demon Beast Materials, Rare Herbs, Talisman Jade Tablets, and Spirit Stone Ore. First, they collected the most space-consuming and foul-smelling Demon Beast Materials into an empty storage bag. Then they opened another storage bag.
This time, however, they dared not pour everything out at once. Instead, they first transferred the Demon Beast Materials into that specific bag meant for them before emptying out the remaining contents. Afterward, they filled this storage bag with ores and mineral materials. After several rounds of sorting, Xunuo had organized all the items from these storage bags into the newly acquired ones. Only a dozen jade vials and a few jade slips remained on the ground.
Xunuo picked up one of the jade slips and probed it with their Divine Sense. Moments later, a hint of joy appeared on their face. They then examined each of the remaining jade slips one by one and couldn't help but exclaim, "It truly is a case of finding treasure without effort after searching high and low."
It turned out that these jade slips contained records of various Spell techniques. One slip even held a complete copy of the Huayang Classic Cultivation Method. This discovery filled Xunuo with renewed confidence about their future path.
After secretly rejoicing for a moment, Xunuo began to open each of the dozen jade vials for closer inspection. These vials contained various ointments, powders, or pills. Among them were Reattachment Ointment and Revival Powder—both familiar to Xunuo. However, they could not identify most of the others. Yet three pills caught their attention; by comparing them with descriptions from the Elixir Formula regarding Unity Pill, Xunuo felt confident that these were indeed Unity Pills.
Xunuo stored the jade slips and vials back into a storage bag. With a flicker of Divine Sense, they entered the Boundary Stone's Starlight Arena. Afterward, Xunuo approached a wooden rack and placed all five categorized storage bags filled with materials onto it.
