"Dongfang Yunqing" said, "In our eyes, the mundane gold, silver, and jade have lost their value. However, this spirit stone is essential for us cultivators to enhance our cultivation, replenish our mana, and even break through bottlenecks. Gradually, it has become the standard of value for exchanging items in the cultivation world, serving a role similar to that of silver coins in the mundane world. Xunuo quickly asked, "So all the silver coins and other items you mentioned are stored inside?"
"Dongfang Yunqing" nodded and then pointed to several talisman papers on the stone table. "These are Talismans; they are inscribed with spells that can be activated with mana when needed. There are various types of Talismans depending on the spell inscribed. For instance, this one is a Flying Talisman, and this one is a Fireball Talisman. In critical moments, these Talismans can be lifesavers. Unfortunately, Talismans are all single-use consumables, and most of us Loose Cultivators cannot afford them. We mostly carry Flying Talismans for protection and defensive talismans."
With just a few simple words from "Dongfang Yunqing," Xunuo realized that the cultivation world was likely even more perilous than the Mundane Martial World.
"Dongfang Yunqing" then pointed to a jade fragment nearby. "This item is called a jade slip; it serves as our medium for recording information. Xunuo had already seen this jade slip and recognized it as identical to his own Elixir Formula jade slip. Feeling anxious but not daring to ask too much, he finally understood after hearing "Dongfang Yunqing's" explanation.
After pondering for a moment, "Dongfang Yunqing" picked up the jade slip and said, "Let me demonstrate."
After pressing the jade slip against his forehead for a moment, he handed it to Xunuo. Xunuo took the jade slip and probed inside with his Divine Sense, discovering some text within. Upon closer inspection, he found it was the incantation for Object Manipulation Technique. He hurriedly noted it down word for word before returning the jade slip to "Dongfang Yunqing."
"Dongfang Yunqing" chuckled as he accepted the jade slip back and set it down.
He pointed to a pile of what seemed to be the bones and skins of wild beasts and said, "These are the Demon Beast Materials I have hunted over the past year. Some of these are suitable for refining weapons, while others can be used to create talismans. However, I lack the ability to refine them. I still need to go to the Trade Fair to exchange them for pills that can enhance my cultivation."
Xunuo asked curiously, "How can you refine weapons from these beast bones? They would turn to ashes as soon as they are burned."
Dongfang Yunqing replied, "Xue Dao You, look closely."
With that, he pointed at a beast claw suspended in the air. Then, Dongfang Yunqing reached beneath the claw with one hand and began to chant softly.
In an instant, a ball of fierce flames erupted from his palm, enveloping the beast claw. Xunuo, sitting across the stone table, felt the heat radiating from the flames and struggled to endure it. He quickly circulated his Huayang Classic to release his True Qi, barely managing to withstand the heatwave. Looking at the beast claw, he was astonished to see it remain unscathed within the flames; even the fur attached to it showed no signs of damage.
After a moment, Dongfang Yunqing extinguished the flames and touched the beast claw lightly. It fell in front of Xunuo.
Xunuo stared in shock and said, "What kind of beast is so powerful? Is that fire of yours a Spell?"
Dongfang Yunqing replied, "These are not mere beast bones; they are from demon beasts. This claw comes from a Third-Grade Earthfire Ape. We gathered six friends and went through great trouble to slay it. Since I am the lowest-ranked among us, my contribution was minimal, so I only received this claw. Even so, it is the most valuable among my Demon Beast Materials—worth several times more than Revival Powder. Using this material to refine a Fire Attribute artifact will yield power far beyond that of others at the same level."
Xunuo heard yet another new term and felt overwhelmed by the flood of information. He murmured, "Artifact? Demon beasts?"
Dongfang Yunqing frowned slightly and waved his hand dismissively. "I've said too much; with your current cultivation level, it's impossible for you to hunt demon beasts. As for artifacts, they are not something we Loose Cultivators can covet. It's pointless to discuss further."
Xunuo was taken aback and quickly said, "What you say is true; what you just conveyed has already left me bewildered. If you say more, I might not remember anything at all."
Dongfang Yunqing nodded and said, "As long as Xue Dao You understands this principle, that's enough. Today I can offer you one more benefit, but we must make an agreement."
Xunuo clasped his hands and said, "What instructions does you have, Eastern Friend? Please feel free to speak. I am just beginning my journey in the path of cultivation and would appreciate your guidance."
Dongfang Yunqing waved his hand dismissively. "No need to be so formal. I see that Xue Daoyou has some strengths in alchemy. If one day you are able to refine the Unity Pill, I would like to ask you to prepare a batch for me."
Upon hearing this, Xunuo felt a wave of relief wash over him. He understood what Dongfang Yunqing was after. He straightened up and replied, "If that day comes, I will certainly refine it for you, Eastern Friend."
Dongfang Yunqing smiled slightly, picked up the jade slip from in front of, and pondered for a moment. He pressed the slip against his forehead, and after a brief moment, tossed it to Xunuo. With another wave of his hand, the stone table was left empty.

Within the jade slip, I have included the address of my Cave at Purple Cloud Mountain and the date for the Dome Mountain Golden Family Trading Conference. Additionally, I am gifting you a Fire Manipulation Technique spell. This fire attribute spell will aid you in understanding fire properties while refining pills. You may come to my Cave a month before the Dome Mountain Golden Family Trading Conference, and I will take you to witness the Trade Fair."
Xunuo quickly stood up to express his gratitude.
Dongfang Yunqing thought for a moment and added, "There are seven or eight Loose Cultivators in this area who have some connections with me. If you encounter any conflicts with them, mentioning my name should grant you some leniency. However, there is one among them—the Black Wind Old Monster—who is cultivating in Black Shadow Abyss. Xunuo bowed deeply and replied, "I will remember it well."
Dongfang Yunqing laughed heartily, gave a slight bow, and stepped onto the ridge before disappearing from sight.
Xunuo gazed at the now empty mountaintop. If it weren't for the jade slip still clutched in his hand, he might have thought all of this was just a dream.
Xunuo pondered for a moment before directing his Divine Sense into the jade slip. As expected, he found that there were indeed more contents within.
He committed these new details to memory and recited the Object Manipulation Technique in his mind once more. After forming a hand seal, he pointed at a stone about the size of his fist and shouted, "Rise!"
To Xunuo's embarrassment, the stone not only failed to lift off the ground but didn't move at all. He focused again, reciting the incantation and pointing at the stone, commanding, "Rise!"
After practicing this for over ten times, the stone finally shifted slightly. Cold sweat broke out on Xunuo's forehead as he thought to himself: It seems my magical power is significantly inferior to Dongfang Yunqing's.
After some contemplation, he pointed at the jade slip labeled in front of and shouted, "Rise!" The jade slip indeed wobbled and floated into the air.
Xunuo used his magical energy to make the jade slip circle around him once before grabbing it with a sense of exhilaration.
Then he extended a hand, silently invoking the Fire Manipulation Technique. Suddenly, a flame about a foot long erupted in his palm with a loud pop. Xunuo was taken aback by how easily he had conjured fire.
However, confusion soon followed. Earlier, when Dongfang Yunqing had summoned fire, Xunuo felt its intensity even from several feet away. Now, with this flame right in front of him, he felt no heat at all. Could it be that his flame was merely an illusion?
Thinking quickly, Xunuo reached for a branch and thrust it into the flame, which instantly turned to ash. He then poked his finger into the fire but felt no discomfort whatsoever.
Xunuo concluded that it seemed his spell would not harm him, which brought him a small sense of relief.
