Xunuo observed that the two individuals had followed him into the Water Cave, concluding that they had locked onto him with their Divine Sense. However, once inside the cave, they seemed completely lost, as if they were blind and not using their Divine Sense to navigate.
If it weren't for their Divine Sense, it would be impossible for them to follow him into the Water Cave amidst the swirling muck; they must have relied on their sense of smell. A good hunter can discern scents underwater, and Xunuo was aware of this.
This explained their behavior. They could sense Xunuo's presence through scent but couldn't see their surroundings. They were worried about losing track of him while also being cautious of a potential ambush from him. Thus, they could only proceed slowly, probing with their swords as they moved.
Xunuo's analysis was also a revelation about his own understanding of martial arts. He had always considered other internal cultivation methods through the lens of his own training in the Huayang Classic, assuming that other methods would function similarly.
These two old men likely possessed internal skills far superior to his own. This was indeed the case; when Red Robe Man from Qingyang Boxing Hall struck him with a palm, Xunuo found himself knocked to the ground without any ability to retaliate. Therefore, it stood to reason that their Divine Sense should be stronger than his. Yet now it appeared that not only were they inferior to him, but it was also possible that their Divine Sense could not be projected outward or that they had not cultivated it at all.
Xunuo had sensed his Divine Sense upon beginning his practice of the Huayang Classic. He had gradually learned to introspect with his Divine Sense and project it outward. Cultivating the Elixir Formula merely enhanced his Divine Sense rather than being its foundation. The root of his Divine Sense seemed to lie within the Huayang Classic. Although he felt that the Huayang Classic surpassed ordinary internal cultivation methods, he had not anticipated its extraordinary potential.
If this were true, not only could he survive today, but he might also find a way to outsmart these two old men. After all, in the pitch-black Water Cave, there was some hope in calculating against two individuals who were effectively blind. Once outside, he would only have to focus on escaping.

Seeing that their breaths were nearly spent and their Inner Strength was waning, he knew an opportunity had arisen.
Xunuo also halted and turned back to swim against the current. It was then that he discovered how exceptionally difficult it was to swim upstream in this turbulent water.
His Divine Sense probed the two old men and found them struggling and somewhat panicked. It seemed they were eager to hunt him down but had ventured too deep into the Water Cave and exhausted their Inner Strength.
These two Robe Men were indeed high-level practitioners with profound Inner Strength. Realizing swimming back was futile, they decided instead to climb up along the cave walls to return. This method allowed them to move more quickly.
The walls of the Water Cave were solid rock, worn smooth by the river's relentless flow over the years. There were no protrusions to grip, making it a slippery ascent. Although it was faster than swimming upstream, the speed was still limited.
Xunuo saw this and decided to climb as well, but he took out the Heavenly Shadow Spike. After infusing it with True Qi, he easily drove it into the cave wall as if cutting through tofu. This significantly increased Xunuo's speed, and he gradually closed in on the two Robe Men.
At that moment, the blue-robed man, who had no scalp, seemed to be tiring. He fell back a few yards behind the Red Robe Man.
Xunuo recognized this as an opportunity. However, he knew he could only strike once and must not get entangled; otherwise, it could lead to both of them meeting their end in the Underworld.
Xunuo reached the opposite wall where the bald man was. With a powerful push off the wall, he propelled himself toward the bald man. In an instant, the Heavenly Shadow Spike pierced the Blue Robe Man's heart. Simultaneously, Xunuo slapped the Blue Robe Man with his left palm, withdrew the Heavenly Shadow Spike, and flipped back to the opposite wall. The Blue Robe Man curled up in pain and was quickly swept away by the rushing water deeper into the Water Cave.
Xunuo pressed himself tightly against the opposite wall until he could no longer see the Blue Robe Man being carried away before letting out a long sigh of relief.
The commotion startled the Red Robe Man ahead. Although he couldn't see Xunuo, he immediately drew his sword and began slashing wildly behind him. Seeing that the Red Robe Man was prepared, Xunuo dared not follow too closely and maintained a distance of about three or four yards.
After climbing for a while, the Red Robe Man stopped and swung his sword behind him again. This made it even harder for Xunuo to approach. However, it also slowed down the Red Robe Man significantly.
After struggling against the current for more than ten yards, the Red Robe Man suddenly hurled his sword backward and continued to crawl forward without regard for any dangers behind him.
Xunuo realized that this was a sign of desperation from the Red Robe Man; he was relying on his last breath to escape. At this point, there was no need to take risks to kill him; just a few disturbances would suffice to exhaust him completely.
Xunuo quickened his pace to close in on the Red Robe Man. He then used the Heavenly Shadow Spike to cut a piece of rock from the wall and infused it with True Qi before throwing it at the Red Robe Man. The stone struck his back; although it didn't hurt, it startled him. The Red Robe Man grabbed onto the cave wall with one hand while frantically searching behind him with the other. After finding nothing, he resumed his climb. After three or four such disturbances from Xunuo, a grayish hue began to appear on the Red Robe Man's face.
The Water Cave remained pitch black at both ends, clearly still far from the exit. At this moment, the Red Robe Man understood his fate; there was no hope left for him. When Xunuo threw another stone at him, surprisingly, the Red Robe Man turned around and lunged toward where the stone had come from.
Xunuo did not expect such ferocity from this Red Robe Man. Caught off guard, he found himself firmly embraced by him.
The Red Robe Man realized that he was in a situation where death was inevitable, and his heart was filled with hatred for Xunuo. Determined to drag Xunuo down with him, he embraced Xunuo tightly, but he no longer had the strength to strike. With a sinister grin, he lunged at Xunuo. However, since Xunuo was shorter than him, his head collided with Xunuo's forehead instead. Seeing that this little thief was still alive, the Red Robe Man opened his mouth to bite down.
Xunuo naturally would not give him another chance. With the Heavenly Shadow Spike in his right hand, he stabbed the Red Robe Man's back repeatedly, over ten times, ensuring that he was beyond saving. Yet, even in death, the man clung tightly to Xunuo.
The two of them tumbled down the water flow together. Xunuo had previously used his Divine Sense to probe ahead and found that this Water Cave was bottomless and unknown in its destination. He certainly did not want to risk his life in such an uncertain place. Suddenly releasing his True Qi outward and using all his strength in his arms, he found that the Red Robe Man's grip remained unyielding. At this moment, Xunuo began to feel anxious.
His right arm, which held the Heavenly Shadow Spike, was trapped by the man's embrace and could not move freely. Fortunately, his left arm was still free, so he transferred the Heavenly Shadow Spike to his left hand and aimed it at the Red Robe Man's arm to cut it off. However, before he could sever the head, his own head slammed against the rock wall, causing him to momentarily lose consciousness as darkness enveloped him. Yet within his Divine Sense, there remained a flicker of clarity as he watched himself and the Red Robe Man tumble downstream.
Time passed without measure until a large bend appeared ahead in the Water Cave. The water crashed against the rock walls with a thunderous roar. That flicker of clarity rang like a warning bell and finally roused him just in time.
As soon as Xunuo regained consciousness, he decisively severed the Red Robe Man's arm and freed himself from the grip. With a kick, he sent the corpse away from him and managed to slow his momentum slightly.
However, this still could not withstand the force of the water flow. In an instant, they collided against the rocky wall at the bend. Fortunately, the Red Robe Man's body acted as a cushion, preventing any injury to Xunuo.
After countless years of erosion from the water flow, this bend had widened significantly and formed a massive whirlpool. Yet as the water turned, it began to calm down. Seeing this, Xunuo quickly moved toward one side of the cave wall. In such circumstances, it was essential to stabilize himself before making further plans.
Unexpectedly, at that moment, an immense suction force pulled both him and the Red Robe Man's corpse toward a dark area.
Xunuo then noticed that beside this whirlpool was a vast cave. The water surged through its entrance while he and the Red Robe Man's body were drawn in by this force as if being swallowed by some malevolent entity. In fear, Xunuo activated his True Qi throughout his body and fully opened his Divine Sense.
