Suddenly, Scarface's right hand, which had been hanging down, slowly began to rise. 0

Xunuo felt a surge of panic as his heart raced. He quickly withdrew his Short Blade. 0

At that moment, Scarface slowly drew a gleaming short knife from within his cloak. His eyes widened as he faced Xunuo, causing Xunuo's heart to nearly leap out of his chest. 0

However, Scarface did not look at Xunuo. Instead, he fixed his gaze on the Thief across from him. 0

Then, with a slight movement of his body, he raised his right hand, positioning the blade of the short knife downward. With a soft "thud," it plunged into the back of the Thief. 0

The Thief did not make a sound; he simply swayed and collapsed to the ground, seemingly still lost in a dream as he met his end. 0

It appeared that Scarface was no stranger to killing and looting. He took his time, first tearing off a piece of cloth from the bed and spreading it on the floor. Then he dragged the lifeless body of the Thief onto the cloth, positioning the head in the center. Grasping the dead man's hair with his left hand, he pulled out the short knife with his right. 0

With a sinister grin, he muttered to himself, "You only know that Lu Changlin's life is valuable; do you not realize that your own head is worth quite a bit too?" 0

With that, he brought down the knife decisively, and a head fell into the center of the cloth. 0

He then wrapped up the head in the cloth and casually tossed it aside. 0

Only then did he begin to search through the corpse of the Thief. 0

At this point, Xunuo felt his spine stiffen with fear; his hands trembled so much that he could barely hold onto his Short Blade. 0

He quickly crouched down and silently chanted to himself: Stay calm, stay calm. 0

He gripped himself tightly, and as pain shot through him, that overwhelming sense of discomfort began to ease. It was only then that Xunuo started to contemplate what actions to take next. 0

Two Thieves had entered, which was supposed to be a good thing. 0

However, this Scarface was exceptionally ruthless, showing no hesitation even when it came to his own brothers. 0

Moreover, their planned ambush after drinking had already fallen apart. 0

If it came to a direct confrontation, their skills were nothing but a ticket to death. Now they could only hope that this man would kill and then sleep, giving them a chance to strike. 0

As he pondered, the lights in the room suddenly went out. 0

Then the door swung open, and Scarface stepped out of the room, dragging a bed sheet wrapped around a head. 0

He turned and walked toward the stairs. 0

The sudden turn of events completely exceeded Xunuo's expectations, leaving no time for further planning. 0

In a moment of desperation, Xunuo gripped his Short Blade tightly, leaped up, and plunged it into Scarface's back. 0

Scarface felt the pain but did not turn around; instead, he swung his fist backward with one hand. Then he took a step forward, threw away the bundle, drew his knife with one hand in a swift motion, and finally turned to look. 0

At that moment, Xunuo was sent flying back seven or eight steps by that punch, as if struck by a hammer. Half of his body was rendered immobile. 0

Scarface took a closer look and discovered Xunuo curled up in a corner. 0

Seeing that he had been ambushed by a mere kid who hadn’t even matured yet only fueled his rage further. He pointed his knife at Xunuo, his face contorted in fury. Then he began to approach Xunuo step by step. 0

Although Xunuo could no longer move, his eyes remained sharp in the darkness. 0

He noticed that with each step Scarface took closer to him, he left behind a bloody footprint. 0
The blow he had dealt just moments ago had truly been a fierce one. 0

Xunuo secretly activated the Huayang Skill, gritting his teeth against the excruciating pain as he held onto the Short Blade with one hand and leaned against the wall, half-squatting to rise. 0

A tearing pain coursed through his body, leaving him unable to straighten up. 0

Sweat poured down like rain, and he felt utterly drained, his face pale as he watched the approaching Thief. 0

At that moment, fear had slipped from Xunuo's mind; all he could think about was that when Scarface got close enough, he would risk everything to stab him. 0

Better to fight back in a desperate struggle than to let Scarface harm Uncle Lu's family. 0

In truth, Scarface was in an even worse condition than Xunuo at that moment. 0

Xunuo's blade had struck a vital spot; if it hadn't been for the short blade, it might have cost him his life. 0

Even so, Scarface felt as if hot oil were being poured over his heart. He knew he had been stabbed in the heart and was losing too much blood, but the injury on his back made it difficult to treat. 0

Filled with hatred for Xunuo, he was determined to kill this little thief who had ambushed him. 0

Yet each step felt like carrying a thousand pounds, and he was reaching his limit. By the fifth step, Scarface suddenly swayed and collapsed headfirst down the stairs, meeting his end. 0

Xunuo breathed a sigh of relief; seeing the commotion grow louder around him, he quickly endured the pain and slipped back into his room. 0

Chaos erupted within the inn. 0

With two guests dead in his establishment, the Innkeeper was already terrified and at a loss. Only after being reminded by other guests did he think to report to the authorities, hastily sending a servant to do so while discussing countermeasures with familiar patrons. 0

Xunuo knew he could not linger here any longer; he would not wait for the officials to come questioning him. 0

After stretching his limbs in the guest room, Xunuo felt he could move just enough, so he took advantage of the chaos to slip out of the inn and headed south out of the small town. 0

Fortunately, it was late at night and he encountered no one along the way. After walking for about an hour, the sky began to lighten. 0

Xunuo quickly left the main road and found a secluded cave. He gathered some branches and vines to cover the entrance before hiding inside. This was a trick he learned from Lu Duhou, as Xunuo knew that he would need to travel by night and rest during the day to avoid drawing attention. 0

Feeling somewhat safe for the moment, Xunuo began to check his injuries. Although he still felt pain, it was much better than at first. He touched the sore spots and realized that none of his bones seemed to be broken. To his surprise, he thought to himself that he had endured quite a bit. 0

Earlier, he had heard Lu Duhou say that to practice martial arts, one must first learn to take hits. It seemed that he might indeed have a talent for martial arts. With this thought, he couldn't help but chuckle to himself. 0

He then sat cross-legged, formed a hand seal, and silently recited the Huayang Classic in his mind before entering meditation. 0

This time, his meditation lasted an entire day, and when he finally finished, it was already dark outside. 0

At this point, Xunuo felt a bit hungry and took out some dried rations to eat. 0

To his surprise, he discovered that most of his pain had subsided; moving his limbs caused him no significant discomfort. 0

He touched his injuries and found no particularly noticeable pain. His worries diminished greatly; he had initially thought that recovering from these injuries would take several days. He had even been concerned about hiding in this cave. Now, having recovered significantly in just one day, he felt relieved. 0

After eating some dried rations, he pushed aside the branches at the cave's entrance and stepped out into the night once more, continuing southward. 0

Having traveled by night and rested during the day for over a month, Xunuo believed that the danger had passed and decided to resume traveling during daylight hours. 0

This wasn't particularly inconvenient for him; rather, after over a month of practicing Huayang Skill, there was little difference between day and night for Xunuo. Even on moonless nights, he could see as if it were broad daylight. His hearing was so acute that he could discern even the slightest rustle of grass or wind from a hundred feet away. 0

As soon as he emerged into daylight, Xunuo received shocking news: the Xu Family had been ambushed by bandits while traveling through Blackwind Ridge on their way to the Western Regions, resulting in their complete annihilation. 0

Although Xunuo had long anticipated this outcome, a glimmer of hope still lingered in her heart. Upon receiving the news, she couldn't help but burst into tears, her face streaming with sorrow. 0

Moreover, the lack of information regarding Lu Duhou suggested that he was safe. With that thought, her worries dissipated, and she decided to continue her journey through the night. 0

Traveling at night proved to be faster than during the day. 0

In recent days, Xunuo had been practicing the Huayang Classic, which greatly enhanced her stamina and made her body lighter and more agile. When she ran, each stride covered over ten feet, and even after a day of running, she felt hardly fatigued. If she were to run like this during the day, it would surely attract the attention of passersby. 0

After a month of travel, she finally reached the southern end of Dingzhou. 0

Xunuo calculated that her speed was comparable to that of a swift horse. This realization brought her some joy, easing her sadness a little. 0

However, there was one issue that had been troubling Xunuo in recent days: it seemed she had hit a Bottleneck in the first layer of her training in the Huayang Classic. 0

At this point, she had meditated on her Dantian until it felt as small as a car, and the warm currents circulating within had coalesced into a tangible liquid form. Yet no matter how much she expanded her meditation on the Dantian, it seemed ineffective. The flow of energy within could not increase even by a fraction. 0

Initially, Xunuo thought she had completed the first layer and began attempting to practice the second layer. However, after several days with no progress, she realized that she had not yet mastered the first layer. 0

She meticulously studied and pondered over the scriptures but found no breakthrough methods or sensory prompts indicating completion for each layer. It only mentioned that one must complete a layer before advancing to the next level of training. 0
