Chapter 57: The Reason
Lin Feng felt a bit anxious as he faced off against Old Ghost King and Tao Tie alone. He believed he could win in a one-on-one fight, but taking on two opponents left him with no chance. Lin Feng exclaimed in surprise, shaking off his fear. After unleashing the Tai Chi Reincarnation Fist to blast them both away, he transformed into a shooting star and disappeared in an instant.
Inside the cave opened by Ling'er sat several stunning women: Cold Rain, Qi Wan'er, Tang Jiner, Mo Mo, and Wind Spirit.
Lin Feng arrived and spotted Tang Jiner. She noticed him at the same time, their gazes meeting in a moment of silent envy. With a soft sigh, Tang Jiner eventually lowered her head.
Lin Feng shifted his gaze to Qi Wan'er. She had now entered the Legendary Realm, catching up to her master. Yet she had unfortunately encountered the apocalypse; once a legendary figure, her brilliance had dimmed.
"Where is Brother Antang?" Lin Feng asked.
"He... sacrificed himself," Qi Wan'er replied, her voice filled with deep sorrow.
Lin Feng felt a wave of discomfort rise within him. Antang had helped him immensely, and his generous personality was something Lin Feng greatly admired. He never expected such a drastic change to occur now.
He then saw Cold Rain. Cold Rain was also from the Legendary Realm, having become the first Empress of the Great Zhou. A legendary figure of the Great Zhou, she too had faded into obscurity due to the arrival of the apocalypse.
This was destined to be an unfortunate era, turning legends like them into mere supporting characters.
"Miss Cold Rain, hello," Lin Feng said with a smile and a nod.
"Lin... hello," Cold Rain replied. She wanted to address Lin Feng properly but didn't know how. Lin Feng? Their foundations were now worlds apart. Lin Saint? Mo Mo nodded slightly in response.

Lin Feng's gaze shifted once more to Tang Jiner. The brief moment of clarity for his senior brother had passed, and Tang Jiner understood the reason behind it. He asked, "Princess, what exactly is going on?"
Hearing him call her "Princess" made Tang Jiner's heart melt. She never expected that even to this day, Lin Feng would still refer to her as such. Unfortunately, due to various circumstances, they had become like strangers.
Suppressing her feelings of sadness, Tang Jiner said, "Mo Mo, please tell Lin Feng the truth."
"Alright."
Mo Mo nodded and began to explain in detail.
Mo Mo and Mo Xue of the Yunlu Xian Sect are the same person—one is the main body, and the other is a clone. Their master is the Color Cloud Fairy, who is the junior sister of the Holy Mother of the Yunlu Xian Sect.
The Color Cloud Fairy is also the beloved of the Master of the Divine Ruins. As rumors spread about the death of Shishu and Dou, she was devastated. However, she later found the situation suspicious and began to investigate.
Eventually, she discovered that the source of the problem lay within the Yunlu Xian Sect. At this point, Cloud Mother realized Color Cloud's true intentions, acted first to subdue her, and imprisoned her.
During her imprisonment, Color Cloud Fairy took on a disciple named Mo Xue. It was during this time that she uncovered a more astonishing plan by the Yunlu Xian Sect.
She instructed Mo Xue to find a way to create a clone that could leave the Yunlu Xian Sect and never return. However, there remained a significant connection between their main body and clone.
When the Yunlu Xian Sect revealed its shocking plan, Mo Xue learned everything and informed Mo Mo.
Upon hearing this, Lin Feng suddenly understood why Mo Xue had not mentioned Mo Mo's name that day at the Yunlu Xian Sect, and why they were completely unaware of her existence; there was such a hidden secret behind it all.
"What exactly is their plan?" Lin Feng asked.
"The Yunlu Xian Sect possesses Essence Blood from many top-tier cultivators. They can control these individuals with this Essence Blood, turning them into puppets," Mo Mo explained.
"I see. No wonder it was our senior brother and others who fell ill first; this gradually involved more people. The Yunlu Xian Sect has been plotting all of this for a long time. Why are they creating an apocalypse?" Ling Er questioned in confusion.
"It seems we have no choice but to pay a visit to the Yunlu Xian Sect," Lin Feng pondered.
"The Yunlu Xian Sect has an unparalleled Imperial Artifact; I will accompany you," Ling Er reassured Lin Feng with concern.
Lin Feng nodded. "Good, with you by my side, even if we face Cloud Mother, we can still retreat safely."
Lin Feng bid farewell to the beautiful women before leaving. Just before he departed, he glanced at Tang Jiner. She looked back at him with worry in her eyes, wanting to say something but ultimately chose silence.
In just a few moments, Lin Feng broke through the entrance of the Yunlu Xian Sect with Wind Spirit.
"Where is Cloud Mother?" Lin Feng shouted, his voice echoing throughout the Yunlu Xian Sect.
"Who dares to make a commotion in my Yunlu Xian Sect?"
With a light reprimand, Saintess Mo Xue of Yunlu stepped out. Upon seeing Lin Feng, she immediately understood that he was aware of everything. A hint of joy flashed in her eyes.
At that moment, Cloud Mother and Mo Pinglan appeared.
"So it is Lin Feng who has come to visit. What brings you here?" Cloud Mother asked.
Lin Feng replied coldly, "Stop pretending. I already know about the wicked deeds done by the Yunlu Xian Sect. If the Holy Mother knows what’s good for her, she should hide your tracks and allow Desolate Star to remain peaceful." (To be continued...)
