Chapter 44: Dragon Protectors
"Here is a Sword Technique of mine. Keep it well; it may save your life in the future." Lin Feng handed a jade slip to Xiang He.
"Thank you, Shishu." Xiang He accepted it solemnly, carefully storing it away.
Before leaving Zhongzhou, Lin Feng met with Pinran alone.
A Yuan Stone Coffin appeared before the two of them. This Yuan Stone Coffin was personally crafted by Lin Feng. Although it could not compare to the Yuan Stone Coffin of the Lone Moon City Ancestor, it was sufficient to preserve Magenta's beauty forever.

Lin Feng nodded. "It all starts from the Great Tang Capital."
A look of reminiscence crossed Lin Feng's face as he recalled the Crimson Figure who had suddenly appeared before him years ago.
"Back then, your sister came to me and explained her purpose. At that time, I had someone I cared for, so I abandoned her and left. Later, I arrived in Zhongzhou, and she followed me here..."
Lin Feng recounted his journey, from following his sister to the noodle shop, to leaving in heartbreak, and finally to his death above the Azure Cloud Sect during the Martial Examination. Regarding the incident where Magenta's cultivation flared up, causing her to faint and be left behind, Lin Feng chose to keep it a secret.
"So that's how it was. I believe that when my sister left, she was at least happy," he said softly.
Pinran held back tears and continued, "When my sister left that year, I was only five years old. I waited every day at Red Flower Palace for her to come home, waiting for five long years. After I turned ten, I understood that my sister would never return..."
"I'm sorry," Lin Feng said, feeling ashamed.
"Fate is cruel, but I don't think my sister would blame you, senior. I'm going to take her home now."

Pinran put away the Yuan Stone Coffin and walked away into the night. Xiang He appeared in the darkness, accompanying her as they walked together.

The land of Jiuzhou trembled violently. Endless power converged upon a desolate plain where three figures stood: Lin Feng, Lin Miaomiao, and Wind Spirit.
"Junior brother, safe travels," Master Da said as he waved his hands, unleashing boundless Vital Energy that tore through space to form a portal of light.
"Senior Brother, I take my leave."
Lin Feng bid farewell to Master Da and then, along with Lin Miaomiao, disappeared into the light portal.
Lingbao City, Han Gu Pass.
Returning to his hometown once again was unimaginable for Lin Feng. He looked around and saw some familiar yet strange sights.
"Lin Feng, is this the star you lived on?" Lin Miaomiao asked.
Lin Feng nodded. "Here, you can fully experience a different kind of life."
"There’s a Vital Energy Wave," Wind Spirit warned.
The three opened their Divine Consciousness and located the source of the Vital Energy Wave. At that moment, in another part of Han Gu Pass, a blinding White Barrier rose up.
"They're still sending people to Desolate Star?"
Lin Feng and Lin Miaomiao rushed towards the glaring light at an incredible speed. They saw an elderly man dressed in an Ancient Robe activating a Teleportation Array, sending a young boy into the formation.
Lin Feng raised his hand, and amidst the intense Vital Energy Wave, he destroyed the ancient Teleportation Array.
The old man immediately became furious. "Who dares to ruin my plans?"
"I do," Lin Feng appeared before the old man.
The old man looked at Lin Feng, and after probing into Lin Feng's cultivation, he revealed a look of shock. "Sage Realm?"
After speaking, the old man turned his gaze to the two women beside Lin Feng, his astonishment deepening. "You are also Sages?"
"I come from Desolate Star," Lin Feng revealed the truth, then asked, "Who exactly are you? Why are you sending people to Desolate Star?"
Upon hearing this, the old man suddenly felt a wave of emotion in his heart, rendering him speechless. After a moment, he said, "You... really come from Desolate Star?"
Lin Feng nodded. "And I am the one you sent there all those years ago."
"Which one are you?" The old man reminisced but unfortunately could not recall who Lin Feng was.
"This matter is not important. Who exactly are you?" Lin Feng asked again.
"This is a long story. I need to invite a few friends. Follow me."
The old man flew through the air and arrived at Zhaosu County. He awakened the slumbering stone beings. Three elders broke through their stone shells and awakened at that moment.
The old man looked at the three who had just awakened with excitement. "You three, we did it! We finally succeeded!"
"What did we succeed in?" another elder asked.
"Could it be that someone has returned from Desolate Star?" an old woman spoke up. Upon seeing Lin Feng, she said, "Is it you?"
"Yes," the old man replied, still brimming with excitement, gesturing joyfully. "All three of them have returned from Desolate Star."
Four elderly figures looked at Lin Feng and his companions, bowing in unison as they said, "We pay our respects to the Sage."
These four elders were all at the Legendary Realm, their lifespans nearly exhausted.
"Please rise, seniors. What is going on?" Lin Feng helped them up and asked.
"I will explain," the only elderly woman spoke, and the others nodded in agreement. She continued, "Due to the thin Earth Qi, this Earth Rules is not suitable for our cultivation. We are the only descendants of this lineage here. Our ancestors told us that our clan is called the Dragon Protectors."
"Dragon Protectors?" Lin Feng asked in confusion.
The elderly woman nodded, "Our ancestors found this star to be desolate and devoid of life. Later, a Divine Dragon brought a great emperor to this place."
"When the Emperor's Body perished, his flesh merged with the earth over time, giving rise to vitality. Gradually, this barren planet began to have water, air, living beings, and plants."
"Before the Divine Dragon passed away, it taught our ancestors the methods of cultivation and inscribed a remarkable Teleportation Array. We were instructed to remember to send people back to the Desolate Star."
"We, the Dragon Protectors, came here to guard the resting place of the Divine Dragon and fulfill its last wish by allowing those from the Desolate Star to return home."
"My ancestor was buried here." Tears welled in Wind Spirit's eyes as she gazed at the mountains and rivers.
"You are a descendant of the Divine Dragon?" The elderly woman exclaimed in surprise.
Lin Feng introduced her, "She possesses the Imperial Divine Body. She is the closest living descendant to the Divine Dragon's Bloodline."
Upon hearing this, the four elders immediately knelt down, prostrating themselves before Wind Spirit in deep reverence.
"Several seniors, this won't do," Wind Spirit hurriedly helped everyone up, while Lin Feng and Lin Miaomiao assisted nearby.
Lin Miaomiao spoke up, "I remember something. Lin Feng, in my dream, I saw a person riding the Divine Dragon, soaring through the cosmos."

"It seems this place truly is a blessed land," Miaomiao said happily.
Lin Feng bid farewell to the elders, eager to explore the surroundings. As they parted ways, Miaomiao cast a spell that granted them an additional three Centennial years of lifespan.
As Lin Feng and the others walked through the streets, they attracted curious onlookers.
“Damn, what’s up with the outfits of those three?” one person remarked.

“Don’t underestimate them. Those two girls are really beautiful. Wow, they look just like movie stars.”

“We stand out too much in these outfits. Let’s quickly change into some star-themed clothing. It’s summer now, so you two can pick out some dresses,” Lin Feng said while selecting clothes for himself.
“What’s a dress?” Lin Miaomiao asked, puzzled.
