Chapter 4: Laughter Amidst Bloodshed
In the distance, two extraordinary beauties stood atop a mountain peak. With worried expressions, they gazed at the battle unfolding at Blazing Fire Mountain. It was Tang Jiner and Mo Mo.
After a long silence, Tang Jiner sighed deeply and said, "Let's go."
Mo Mo, puzzled, asked, "Lin Feng is in danger; are we just going to ignore it?"
Tang Jiner looked into the distance, her face filled with melancholy. "He has already become a Divine Dragon entering the sea; he is no longer one of us. From now on, I fear that he and I will truly become mere passersby."
After saying this, Tang Jiner sighed again. "No wonder after Miaomiao, he chose Wind Spirit. The Imperial Divine Body and Ethereal Body are both rare prodigies from Ancient Times. They belong to a different world."
"Princess, do you mean that Lin Feng chose Wind Spirit because he knew she was an Imperial Divine Body? Is Lin Feng really someone who looks down on others based on their power?" Mo Mo fell into deep thought. Although she had witnessed many unpleasant moments with Lin Feng, he did not seem like the kind of person to her.
Tang Jiner snorted coldly. "Is it because of her beauty?"
This was clearly not the answer. Although Tang Jiner was not a divine body herself, her beauty was exceptional and could easily rival that of Wind Spirit.
Mo Mo didn't know how to respond. After a long silence, she sighed and said, "Indeed, men in this world are not worth trusting."
The two turned to leave, the gentle breeze accompanying them. Their figures appeared somewhat desolate and lonely.
Boom...
Ninety-nine hundred and ninety-nine beams of golden Divine Dragon Radiance erupted from Blazing Fire Mountain, accompanied by a roar that could shatter mountains and rivers as it surged toward Wind Spirit.
"The Rising Dragon Technique of the Great Zhou Royal Family; this is the most formidable killing technique of the Great Zhou Royal Family," someone exclaimed in horror.
Too many Divine Dragon Radiances obscured the sun, and the Martial Emperor's determination to kill the body of the Imperial Path was evident. There was no reservation whatsoever. Meanwhile, the other Sovereigns preserved some of their strength, preparing to seize the Shoushan Bronze Cauldron and the Divine Monkey Offspring later.
These Divine Dragon Radiances each opened like a hole. Inside the holes was nothing but the Imperial Aura of the Great Zhou Royal Family, combined with the Golden Holy Sword. The power was terrifyingly formidable, capable of cleaving the earth.
"Since you know I am the Imperial Divine Body, you still dare to use Imperial Aura in front of me."
The Wind Spirit chuckled lightly, her voice ringing like a bell, melodious and pleasant. To save Lin Feng, she had cast aside her secrets today and revealed her abilities.
The Wind Spirit formed hand seals, chanting strange Ancient Scripts. Each character flew out, glowing with a crimson-gold hue.
The ninety-nine hundred and ninety-nine strands of Divine Dragon Radiance in the Sky Above unexpectedly merged uncontrollably into one, transforming into a Divine Bridge. One end landed at the Wind Spirit's feet while the other trapped the Great Zhou Martial Emperor.
"Spirit, you are too powerful!"
Lin Feng shouted in admiration as he threw all his strength into launching the Shoushan Bronze Cauldron. The Shoushan Bronze Cauldron crashed down upon the Great Zhou Martial Emperor like a hundred mountains.
When…
A resounding sound echoed as the Great Zhou Martial Emperor was struck dazzlingly.
Upon seeing the Shoushan Bronze Cauldron appear, everyone ignored Lin Feng and his companions, all rushing to seize it. The Wind Spirit continued forming seals. The golden Divine Bridge suddenly rolled like a silk ribbon, waves surging as it wrapped around the Shoushan Bronze Cauldron and instantly pulled it back.
The Shoushan Bronze Cauldron returned to Lin Feng's hands.
"Damn it..."
The Great Zhou Martial Emperor let out an angry roar, feeling powerless despite his immense strength. The Imperial Aura within the Great Zhou Cave could not be summoned, preventing him from unleashing the might of the Legendary Realm.
The more he was bound, the more the Martial Emperor sensed the threat posed by the Imperial Path to the Great Zhou. His desire to kill the Wind Spirit intensified.
Suddenly, Lin Feng realized something. His mother had once mentioned that the Stone Pearl within him was not from Emperor Huang but was related to the Wind Spirit.
The Imperial Divine Body was the closest divine body to the True Dragon Bloodline. The Divine Dragon was a creator of royalty. So, could it be that the Stone Pearl within him was— a Dragon Pearl?
Upon this revelation, Lin Feng was shocked. A Dragon Pearl. Was there really a Divine Dragon existing between heaven and earth? The Wind Spirit's visit to the mountains that day was to seek out an ancestor.
Was it the Divine Dragon that the Wind Spirit sought?
If he were to give the dragon lineage within him to the Wind Spirit for her to refine and absorb, would she transform into a True Dragon?
The more Lin Feng thought about it, the more excited he became. He never expected that the Wind Spirit could potentially be a Divine Dragon. Today, with the initial awakening of the True Dragon Bloodline, she already possessed strength capable of contending with the Legendary Realm. If she transformed into a Divine Dragon, her divine power… my goodness… even if Tao Tie were to recover to his peak, she could stand against him!
“Divine Monkey, Divine Dragon, Shoushan Bronze Cauldron. Unknowingly, I have three entities of imperial might by my side. Hahaha! If they grow stronger, I, Lin Feng, will be invincible in both heaven and earth!”
“No, no! I am too weak; I need to improve quickly.”
The battle intensified as various Sovereigns realized that they could not defeat these few individuals without exerting their full strength. Unbeknownst to them, all of them began to unleash their internal cultivation and ultimately exerted their full power.
On Blazing Fire Mountain, openings appeared everywhere, revealing the mysterious powers unique to the Cave Profound Realm.
The Azure Cloud Cave was established by Azure Cloud Sect's founding master, Azure Cloud Master. It nurtured thousands of years' worth of powerful Vital Energy from generations of Azure Cloud Sect members and carried the Power of Faith of Azure Cloud Sect.
War God Cave, Divine General Manor. It is said that the founder of Divine General Manor was a Saint General, a top-tier powerhouse who reached the Sage Realm through personal cultivation alone, without any enlightenment or assistance from the Dao. Such a being possesses the ultimate combat strength of the Sage Realm.
Fire Cave, Raging Fire Cave. These are the domains of Laojun Pavilion and Raging Fire Cult. Among the many sects in the Nine Provinces, there are three major sects dedicated to fire cultivation: Laojun Pavilion, Raging Fire, and Fire Departure Sect. Now, with the destruction of Fire Departure Sect, only Laojun Pavilion and Raging Fire remain.
Savage Realm, the domain of the Barbarians. The history of the Barbarians far predates that of humanity. Some say that humans evolved from barbarians, gradually becoming distinct from them and transforming into modern humans, while the Barbarians continue to uphold their ancient traditions.
Ghostly Energy Cave. This is the cave of the Demon Clan. It was only after the Apocalyptic War ten thousand years ago that the Demon Clan came into existence. Rumors suggest that the founder of the Demon Clan hailed from the Underworld, capable of harnessing the eerie energies between realms for their own use.
The Fiery Mountain Range could not withstand such immense divine might, causing large sections of mountains to collapse and sink. From this day forth, the Fiery Mountain Range vanished, replaced by the ocean.
The Guan Family and the Wind Spirit faced unprecedented pressure. The brilliance of their Holy Armor was extinguished by the overwhelming power emanating from numerous caves.
The might of these caves continued to surge, crashing against their Holy Armor. Cracks began to appear on the armor, widening as it threatened to shatter completely.
Their terrifying physical forms also showed signs of cracking. All three were coughing up blood incessantly.
The various Sovereigns bore immense pressure as well, eager to eliminate them quickly to prevent disciples from the Divine Ruins from arriving and complicating matters.
"Where is Second Senior Brother? If he doesn't come soon, we'll have to clean up this mess ourselves," Lin Feng frowned. Although he stood in the middle of the three, his foundation was too weak; even with the protection of the Shoushan Bronze Cauldron, he was still bleeding profusely, as if his body were about to split apart.
Lin Feng's performance remained astonishing. Had it been any other cultivator at the Master Realm, standing at the core of a battle involving a Legendary Realm powerhouse, they would have been turned into mist long ago, obliterated completely.
"I haven't seen Sister Miaomiao yet; I can't die here," Sky Spirit said unwillingly.
The Guan Family reassured him, "Second Senior Brother must have been delayed by something important; we just need to endure a little longer."
"Ah, do we really have to endure this? I'm at my limit," Lin Feng said with a bitter smile.
"Lin Feng, don't you have the Shoushan Bronze Cauldron? Use it for protection. It should be enough to withstand their divine might," Wind Spirit said with concern.
"I used the Shoushan Bronze Cauldron long ago. Otherwise, I would be talking to you as a ghost right now. The key is that while the Shoushan Bronze Cauldron can resist their divine might, it can't completely dissipate the force of their impact. For you, it might just feel like a surge of energy, but for me, it's deadly. Thankfully, my bones are tough, but they're about to be shattered," Lin Feng replied.
Helan Mountain noticed that they were on the brink of collapse and encouraged them, "They can't hold on much longer."
As soon as those words were spoken, everyone realized that the battle for the spoils was about to begin. One by one, they started to gather their strength.
"Strange, why does it feel like the impact has weakened?" Lin Feng asked again.
"They've retracted some of their divine might," Guan Family observed.
"This seems like they're preparing to divide the spoils. Aren't we still alive? They're being a bit too hasty," Lin Feng remarked.
Even though the Sovereigns had retracted some of their divine might, the lethality towards Lin Feng and his companions remained deadly. The cultivation of the three members of the Guan Family was also nearing depletion.
Even for a strong individual in the Legendary Realm, using reverse divine might required drawing upon their internal Vital Energy to manipulate the situation.
"Sister, we're about to die here. Do you have any unfulfilled desires?" Lin Feng asked, his face weary and weak yet still joking.
"I do. I haven't met Sister Miao yet, and I haven't married you in a wedding ceremony. Can we talk to them and ask if we can finish our wedding before continuing the fight?" Wind Spirit said earnestly.
"Good idea. You should talk to them," Lin Feng said as he looked at Guan Family. "What about you, Sister?"
"Well, there is a Desire, but it's not really a Desire," replied the Guan Family.
Lin Feng smiled and said, "I guess your Desire is to marry Second Senior Brother, right?"
"How did you guess?" Guan Family asked with a laugh.
"Ha!"
At that moment, Wind Spirit suddenly spat out blood, swaying unsteadily.
"Spirit, are you okay? You can use my Shoushan Bronze Cauldron if you need it."
"I still have a breath left; I won't die. You all continue talking; I want to listen too," Wind Spirit steadied herself.
Lin Feng said, "If you like each other, when you mention each other's names, there’s always a smile in your eyes. When Second Senior Brother took me to Senior Sister's room, his eyes were full of joy. Senior Sister was the same."
"Oh, that fool actually knows he likes me?" Guan Family asked, her tone weak yet filled with happiness.
"Senior Sister, no way. You two haven't confessed to each other yet?" Lin Feng asked in surprise.
"Such things are not something a girl should initiate. And he is such a fool, sigh," Guan Family lamented.
Wind Spirit spoke up: "Senior Sister, it's not like that. Between me and Lin Feng, I was the one who confessed first. If you love someone, why drag it out?"
Ha! Ha!
The Guan Family and Wind Spirit were all coughing up blood, their breaths weak to the extreme.
"I can only hold on for a moment," Wind Spirit said gravely.
"In the final moment, if no one comes to help, we will work together to send Lin Feng away. He cannot die," Guan Family said seriously.
"Alright," Wind Spirit nodded.
"I oppose," Lin Feng declared firmly.
"Opposition is ineffective," Wind Spirit and Guan Family said in unison.
"Seriously? Has even the Foundation's right to speak been stripped away?"
"Of course." (To be continued...)
