Chapter 180: Yunlu Xian Sect
Roar...
The blood completely awakened the ferocity of the five fierce beasts, bringing back their once invincible spirit. Each of the five beasts, scarred and battered, unleashed their full power, surrounding Hei and beginning a coordinated assault to suppress him.
Hei endured the brutal strikes from these beasts, struggling to break free from the encirclement. However, each beast blocked his escape attempts one after another.
Hei was undoubtedly the fastest among them. Unfortunately, he could not take flight to escape. Even diverting their attention was not an option; if he managed to draw one beast away, it was highly likely that another would turn its attention to the others.
Lin Feng watched the fierce battle unfold, observing Hei being bloodied. He could no longer afford to think about his own weakness. Lin Feng summoned Longing Tears, expending all his cultivation in one go and calling forth every Ninth-Grade Longsword he could summon.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh...
The Ninth-Grade Longswords soared through the air, slicing through like straight beams of light aimed at the mountain-like fierce beasts ahead. The longswords couldn't even pierce their bodies and were rebounded instead.
The Fate Realization Divine Ability of Cultivation was ineffective against Nine-Tiered Fierce Beasts; their fur remained unscathed.
Unable to break free from the encirclement, Hei concentrated all his attacks on the most severely injured beast. His sharp beak and claws, carrying devastating penetrating power, tore apart one of the beast's arms. Then his beak pierced through the beast's heart.
One beast fell lifelessly to the ground. At that moment, however, Hei's back was struck by a combined assault from the other four beasts. His back split open, revealing white bone beneath.
Hei gritted his teeth against the excruciating pain within and then turned his full attention to killing the second most injured beast. Every feather on his body became a sharp blade; with each rotation, he sliced through the surrounding beasts.
Realizing the danger posed by Hei's feathers, three of the beasts seized his wings while another began to pluck out his feathers.
Screech...
Feathers mixed with blood flew away from Hei's body. Unable to contain himself any longer, he let out a painful cry. He looked towards Dugu Po and saw Lin Miaomiao still frantically absorbing Vital Energy.
Its gaze swept over the crowd, but found no helping hand.
Lin Feng surged forward, flying above the heads of the four ferocious beasts. His figure was so small compared to the towering Mountain-like beasts that he resembled a mere sesame seed.
Lin Feng wielded the Sky Sword and accurately thrust it into one of the beast's eyes.
The beast covered its injured eye and let out a frenzied roar. It finally noticed Lin Feng, this seemingly weak existence. Then it released its grip on Hei and opened its massive jaws toward Lin Feng.
The power within the beast gathered at a frantic pace. Then, a gigantic water ball erupted from its mouth, hurtling toward Lin Feng.
As one of the beasts released Hei, she finally broke free from their restraints and let out a piercing cry of pain.
Her body once again radiated a dazzling golden light. Feathers detached from her body and shot toward the beasts on either side.
Hei showcased her most powerful Divine Ability once more. However, this time was different; it was not merely divine might but contained her physical feathers.
These feathers instantly pierced through the bodies of the two beasts on either side. The two beasts let out a mournful cry before crashing to the ground, dead.
Hei also lost all combat strength, her body reverting to its original size. She lacked even the strength to fly and fell into the nearly dried-up lake.
Despite being covered in blood, Hei's black feathers were no longer visible. She was gravely injured.
In the air, Lin Feng narrowly avoided the terrifying blow of the massive water ball. He then flew into the lake, scooping up Hei in his arms as he fled at high speed.
Hei looked at Lin Feng, then cast one last glance at the lonely broken Ancient Cauldron. With a cry of despair, she tightly closed her eyes.
Five Nine-Tiered Fierce Beasts remained, but now only two were left standing. On Lin Feng's side, he was the only one still conscious.
Lin Miaomiao absorbed the entire lake's Vital Energy like a miracle, falling into a deep slumber. Ancient characters flowed across her body, reciting the voice of the Great Dao.
These characters slowly transformed into silken threads, weaving themselves into a cocoon that enveloped Lin Miaomiao.
The fierce beasts advanced, each step shaking the ground. They split into two directions: one group moved toward Lin Feng, while the other headed for Lin Miaomiao.
The beast approaching Lin Miaomiao had the head of a tiger and the body of an ox, its skin resembling that of a crocodile. It was named Kong Wei. This beast had the strongest defense and was the least injured among the five fierce beasts.
With a single stride, Kong Wei reached Lin Miaomiao. Observing the cocoon, it realized that this person had absorbed all the Vital Energy from the lake, leaving it without a place to dwell. What power would sustain it in the future?
Filled with rage, Kong Wei opened its massive jaws and lunged at Lin Miaomiao.
"No..."
Lin Feng let out a frantic roar, trying to rush forward to stop it, but was blocked by another enormous beast. This beast resembled a Stegosaurus and swung its tail violently, sweeping toward Lin Feng with its tail that spanned dozens of feet.
At that moment, countless clouds suddenly descended from the sky. Several young women dressed in plain garments appeared, shaking bells in their hands. The fierce beasts seemed to fear the sound of the bells greatly and retreated obediently.
The leading young woman saw the three corpses of fierce beasts on the ground and noticed that the vast Vitality Lake had vanished. With an angry expression, she demanded, "Who are you? Why have you trespassed into our sect's forbidden area?"
Worried for Miaomiao's safety, Lin Feng quickly replied, "I am Lin Feng. I accidentally entered this place; I apologize to you all. Please let Kong Wei release my junior sister."
Upon hearing this, the leading woman spoke some strange words to Kong Wei. The beast then spat out the cocoon it had just swallowed. Lin Feng immediately flew over and saw that the cocoon was unharmed, finally feeling relieved.
If even the Nine-Tiered Fierce Beasts couldn't break through this cocoon, how terrifying would Miaomiao's cultivation be if she woke up? Lin Feng found it hard to imagine.
The leading woman continued, "You are Lin Feng, who achieved first place in this Jiuzhou Gathering Conference? A disciple of Lone Moon Sect? Why have you intruded upon my Yunlu Xian Sect?"
Lin Feng never expected his reputation to be so widespread that it had reached the Yunlu Xian Sect. He quickly tried to establish a connection, saying, "Ladies, I am indeed Lin Feng. Moreover, I am an old acquaintance of Miss Mo Mo from your sect."
The leading woman questioned him again, "Our Yunlu Xian Sect has always maintained good relations with the Tang Emperor and the Sword Saint. Yet, I wonder why you trespassed into our Cloudridge Immortal Trace forbidden area and killed the fierce beasts raised by our sect?"
At that moment, Lin Feng suddenly realized that this was definitely a scheme orchestrated by his senior brother, intentionally bringing him to the Yunlu Xian Sect. If he had known it was the Yunlu Xian Sect, he would have gone directly to them for help in treating his senior brother's injuries. Why bother searching for the Source Spring only to end up in this situation?
"Several ladies, I truly stumbled into this place. They were going to kill us, and we were forced to fight back," Lin Feng explained.
One of the women behind the leader remarked, "You managed to save yourself while also killing three Nine-Tiered Fierce Beasts?"
"Exactly, Senior Sister. I think what she says is dubious," another woman chimed in.
"After all, he is the heir of the Sword Saint. Let’s take them back to meet Senior Sister and hear her decision," the leading woman said.
"I am willing to cooperate with you. I will not resist," Lin Feng assured them.
With that, he picked up Lin Miaomiao, who was cocooned, and placed her inside the Ancient Cauldron. The Ancient Cauldron already contained quite a few things, including Hei, who was lying inside.
"I wonder if I can store the Ancient Cauldron since my senior brother is inside," Lin Feng thought.
He attempted to draw the Ancient Cauldron into his Sea of Consciousness, but it remained unmoved. Then he bit his finger and let some blood drop into the Ancient Cauldron before casting another spell.
The Ancient Cauldron hummed and emitted a red glow before vanishing in an instant, entering Lin Feng's Sea of Consciousness.
"I can't believe it really worked! If I had known earlier, I wouldn't have needed Hei to carry my senior brother."
Lin Feng followed the group of women as they made their way toward the edge of a snowy mountain, where they encountered a misty realm filled with swirling clouds. A flock of white cranes flew gracefully through the mist.
Before him lay an expanse of emptiness, with palaces floating in the air. Between the snow-capped mountains and the palaces, a path hovered in the void.
This place was breathtaking, resembling a fairyland.
However, Lin Feng had no mood to admire the scenery. He was eager to meet the prominent figures of the Cloud Path Immortal Sect and request their help in saving his senior brother.
And then there was Magenta.
Lin Feng had been haunted by Magenta's death, feeling a deep sense of guilt. He had planned to one day visit the Yunlu Xian Sect to plead for her revival. Today, having inadvertently arrived here, he found that it saved him quite a bit of trouble.
Several women led Lin Feng along the ethereal path, passing through several palaces before arriving at an elegant pavilion.
Inside sat a woman dressed in a white gown adorned with plum blossoms. She had her back to Lin Feng and the others, leaning against the railing as she gazed into the distance.
Her long hair cascaded down her back, exuding a faint fragrance.
"Senior Sister, this person has trespassed into a forbidden area," reported the leading woman.
"Trespassing into a forbidden area? If they know our sect's name, kill them; if they do not know our sect's name, expel them. Why must you ask me about this?"
A melodious voice rang out, like the chime of a delicate bell.
"But he is Lin Feng, the disciple of the Sword Saint," said the leading woman.
"The disciple of the Sword Saint? Is he the Lin Feng who ranked first in the Three Lists at the Jiu Zhou Gathering?"
The woman slowly turned around and saw Lin Feng. He was both surprised and delighted as he exclaimed, "Mo Mo, it's you!"
“Lin Feng, do not speak carelessly. She is our senior sister, Mo Xue. There is no one named Mo Mo in the Yunlu Xian Sect,” the leading woman admonished.
Lin Feng was puzzled; this person was clearly Mo Mo, looking exactly the same. How could she be Mo Xue? The name Mo Xue sounded somewhat familiar. After a moment of thought, Lin Feng suddenly remembered. She was the one ranked second on the stele.
It was rumored that she was the saintess of the Yunlu Xian Sect. Now, looking at her, it seemed her cultivation had already reached the Enlightenment Realm. No wonder her name had disappeared from the stele; she had broken through to Enlightenment.
“Are you really Mo Xue or Mo Mo?” Lin Feng asked.
“My name is Mo Xue. There is no one named Mo Mo in the Yunlu Xian Sect,” Mo Xue replied calmly.
Lin Feng was even more confused. Could it be that the Mo Mo he knew was impersonating a disciple of the Yunlu Xian Sect? But the Divine Abilities she displayed were all Holy Arts of the Yunlu Xian Sect.
“Who cares who is who? My own matters are more important.”
Lin Feng spoke up, “I accidentally entered your sect and have a request. Please help save my senior brother.” (To be continued...)
