Chapter 10: Seizing the Entrance
Half an hour later, all the late-stage Fate Realization Walkers found the entrance. During this time, a few fortunate mid-stage Fate Realization Walkers happened to be standing at the entrance point and entered the mountain as soon as they sensed it. There were also several who sensed the location of the entrance but were overtaken by other late-stage Fate Realization Walkers.
Including the first batch of peak Fate Realization Walkers who entered, a total of eighty-nine people had found their way in. Meanwhile, at the foot of the mountain, there were still three hundred mid-stage and early-stage Fate Realization Walkers, but fewer than twenty entrances remained, marking the beginning of a fierce competition.
The sensing ability of mid-stage Fate Realization Walkers was noticeably weaker, making it quite challenging to find an entrance. After much effort, when one finally appeared and was about to step in, disciples on either side immediately sprang into action to seize it.
Another half hour passed, and among the three hundred disciples, only six entrances had been located. Each entrance was contested by dozens of disciples, leading to chaotic battles.
Lin Feng stood quietly amidst the crowd. His Divine Consciousness was far stronger than that of others. Out of a hundred entrances, Lin Feng sensed them all without exception.
"There are still three extremely hidden entrances that no one has noticed; I don’t need to rush," Lin Feng thought to himself. He glanced at the rugged man beside him—despite his youth, he sported a thick beard and had prominent brows and eyes that gave him a somewhat menacing appearance. He did not seek out an entrance nor participate in the scramble; instead, he simply followed Lin Feng.
"Who are you? Why are you following me?" Lin Feng asked.
The rugged man stood alongside Lin Feng, his gaze fixed on the competing disciples, but his attention was entirely on Lin Feng. He heard Lin Feng's words but pretended to be deaf and mute.
Lin Feng continued, "I can see your desire; you want to rush in and seize an entrance too. But why do you choose to obstruct me? Who is directing you? What benefit do you gain from this?"
The rugged man remained silent.
"Need some help?"
At that moment, a cold yet melodious voice rang out as a handsome young man with a delicate and clean appearance approached Lin Feng.
Lin Feng looked at him, disbelief etched on his face. "You... dare to come here?"
The person was none other than Meng Han, the First Demon Disciple.
Meng Han's expression tightened slightly, a hint of amusement playing on his lips, making him even more attractive. "Why shouldn't I come? I'm here to defeat the First on the Tablet."
"Are you not afraid they will recognize you?" Lin Feng projected a Divine Consciousness, wanting to keep their conversation private.
"In all past Jiu Zhou Gatherings, how many demons have infiltrated? As long as the purpose is clear, those above won't bat an eye. Of course, one must maintain the disguise; at least those of the same realm shouldn't be able to see through it," Meng Han replied through Divine Consciousness.
"I hope we don't cross paths too soon. It wouldn't be good for either of us if one of us leaves," Lin Feng said with a smile.
"We are both nameless pawns; it won't happen so early. Do you need my help?" Meng Han asked again.
Lin Feng shook his head. "You should choose your entrance quickly. If you show too much strength too soon, it won't be good either. I can handle this myself."
"That's true. I'll wait for you at Mountain. Farewell."
"Farewell."
Meng Han turned and walked towards the western side of Greenhill Peak, where few sought an entrance. As he stepped into the thorns, a mountain path materialized before him. He ascended the path.
Due to its secluded location, by the time others noticed, Meng Han had already set foot on the mountain path.
"Who is this person?" the Elder Steward of the Qingyun Sect asked, his expression serious.
A tall middle-aged man from the Divine General Manor spoke up, "There are a hundred entrances. Only three are particularly hidden and hard to detect. This person must have discovered this secret entrance long ago and deliberately waited until the end, not wanting to draw too much attention."
"This person is extraordinary."
As these words were spoken, a stunningly beautiful woman dressed in white arrived at the Viewing Platform. The elder of the Azure Cloud Sect immediately showed respect upon seeing her and said, "So it is the Cold Commander."
"The elder need not be overly polite," Cold Rain replied lightly.
Cold Rain hailed from the Azure Cloud Sect. By seniority, she was a junior to the Elder Butler of this Jiu Zhou Gathering. However, the Elder Butler's respect for Cold Rain indicated just how high the position of Governor was in Gaojing.
The middle-aged man from Divine General Manor was named Yue Huai Shan, the head instructor there. He looked at Cold Rain and asked, "What brings the Cold Commander to view the scenery today?"
"His Majesty asked me to see which talents can be recommended at this conference," Cold Rain replied.
"I see," Yue Huai Shan said, recalling another matter. "The Cold Commander has been away for three years and returned to capture Qi Si, a remnant of the Qi Sword Pavilion, achieving such merit. Congratulations."
"Thank you, General Yue," Cold Rain responded calmly, though her gaze remained focused on the crowd at the foot of the mountain.
"I've heard that a Disciple of the Qi Sword Pavilion has infiltrated Gaojing and possesses astonishing secrets. I wonder what you have uncovered, Cold Commander?" Yue Huai Shan inquired further.
Cold Rain did not even glance at Yue Huai Shan as she replied, "It is inconvenient to discuss matters regarding Dusi Mansion. Let us focus on enjoying the scenery."
On the other side of the Viewing Platform, Tang Jiner stood alongside Mo Mo, with an elderly man standing behind Tang Jiner—one of the guards she had brought along.
Tang Jiner watched Lin Feng at the foot of the mountain, standing still. She said, "What does Lin Feng want to do? Isn't it just to block a mid-stage Walker in Fate Realization?"
Mo Mo thought for a moment and replied, "He probably isn't sure how many troublemakers there are, so he continues to wait."
"Mo Mo, why do I always feel like I've known Lin Feng for a long time? Isn't that a strange feeling?" Tang Jiner pondered.
Mo Mo didn't know how to respond, so she chose silence.
The chaotic battle lasted for two hours. Aside from the remaining two hidden entrances, all other entrances had been discovered and entered by the Walker cultivators. Although no one lost their life during the chaos, there were numerous serious injuries. The ground was stained with blood from the wounded.
Out of a hundred entrances, only two hidden ones remained. The entrances were shrouded in concealment spells, and among those present, only Lin Feng could perceive them.
"It seems he has no chance left. Mo Mo, let's go back," Tang Jiner said.
Mo Mo gazed at Lin Feng and said, "Young Master, wait a moment. There are still two hidden entrances to his right front and behind the right side of the mountain foot. From his line of sight, he should have found this hidden place."
Elder Steward of Qingyun Sect, who was observing from afar, heard Mo Mo's words and looked at her with slight surprise. "This young lady can see hidden entrances at such a young age; you are quite impressive. May I ask which sect you belong to? Why aren't you participating in this Jiuzhou Gathering Conference?"
Mo Mo bowed respectfully to Elder Butler and replied, "I am Mo Mo, a disciple of Yunlu Xian Sect."
Upon hearing the name Yunlu Xian Sect, Elder Butler's eyes flickered slightly, revealing a smile. "So you are a disciple of Yunlu Xian Sect; no wonder your insights are extraordinary."
"Thank you, Elder," Mo Mo responded.
At Greenhill Peak's foot, after confirming that only one Rugged Man was looking for trouble with him, Lin Feng decided to take action. He dashed swiftly toward the right front—one of the remaining hidden entrances. As Lin Feng stepped into the thorns, the mountain path of the entrance immediately materialized. Just as Lin Feng was about to step up, a chilling Vital Energy Power surged toward him from behind.
Lin Feng had no choice but to turn and take the hit.
The Rugged Man only intended to block Lin Feng from entering the mountain path and did not wish to harm his life. Therefore, when he struck, he did not use any magical treasures but relied solely on his bare fists.
When the Rugged Man's fist collided with Lin Feng's, a loud bang echoed through the air. The Rugged Man let out a cry of pain and was sent flying backward.
Seizing the opportunity, Lin Feng leaped back, aiming to enter the mountain path.
At the same time, those disciples who had witnessed the manifestation of the mountain path went wild, unleashing their magical treasures in an all-out attack. Everyone knew there were only two entrances, and now a third had appeared. They were fighting fiercely for it until the very last moment.
Nearly two hundred Fate Realization cultivators swung their magical treasures, launching their most powerful strikes. Lin Feng felt an overwhelming wave of terrifying power; had he not summoned the Blood Devouring Cauldron, he would have found it hard to withstand.
He sighed deeply and abandoned this entrance, decisively sprinting toward the right side at the foot of the mountain.
Almost all the disciples were caught up in a fierce melee; some had forgotten the rules entirely and began attacking without restraint. As a result, very few disciples followed Lin Feng.
Among them was the rugged man. He endured the intense pain in his hands, his face twisted with anger as he closely followed Lin Feng.
Suddenly, Lin Feng stopped. He thought to himself, "If I don't deal with this person now, he will ruin my plans later. With only one entrance left, I cannot afford any mistakes."
With his mind made up, Lin Feng decisively attacked the Rugged Man.
The Rugged Man was taken aback when he saw Lin Feng charging at him. He never expected that a cultivator at the early stage of Fate would dare to strike first. A smug smile spread across his face.
Knowing Lin Feng's physical prowess was remarkable, he summoned a Rough Blade, a Seventh Rank magical treasure. The Rugged Man swung the Rough Blade as vital energy transformed into raging flames, coalescing into a fire dragon.
The fire dragon, dozens of feet long, roared as it lunged toward Lin Feng.
At the same time, Rugged Man gripped his Rough Blade tightly and attacked Lin Feng's lower body.
Lin Feng remained calm, gathering all his Vital Energy into his fists. He leaped into the air, soaring toward the fire dragon.
"Seeking death," Rugged Man sneered, launching himself off the ground to slash at Lin Feng's legs. Meanwhile, the fire dragon opened its massive jaws and swallowed Lin Feng whole.
Lin Feng opened his mouth and extended his hands, bracing against the dragon's upper and lower jaws, preventing it from closing. The intense heat of the flames had little effect on Lin Feng's physical body.
Taking a deep breath, Lin Feng tore apart the dragon's massive mouth and unleashed a flurry of punches that shattered the creature.
At that moment, Rugged Man was taken aback as he swung his Rough Blade toward Lin Feng's legs with fierce determination.
Lin Feng shifted his stance, flipping upside down and striking Rugged Blade with his fists, producing a series of metallic clangs.
"How is this possible?" Rugged Man exclaimed in disbelief as he saw Lin Feng's body was as hard as iron.
Lin Feng closed in on Rugged Man and unleashed another barrage of strikes, sending the Rough Blade flying from Rugged Man's grasp before targeting his chest.
Rugged Man hurriedly tried to defend himself but was no match for Lin Feng. In no time, he had his arms incapacitated, deep wounds exposing bone beneath.
Lin Feng pressed on relentlessly; he would not stop until this man was defeated. A torrential storm of blows rained down on Rugged Man's chest, forcing him to stagger backward while spitting blood. He stood there foolishly, unable to retaliate as Lin Feng continued to strike him mercilessly.
Lin Feng's fist struck Rugged Man's face, knocking the burly man unconscious on the ground.
Seeing Lin Feng's overwhelming strength, the few who had followed him showed signs of fear and quickly retreated, not daring to approach. Lin Feng ignored everyone and walked directly toward the third hidden entrance.
On the Viewing Platform, the Elder Steward of Qingyun Sect observed Lin Feng's performance with some surprise. "To be able to sense two hidden entrances at the early stage of Fate Realization Realm, and to defeat a mid-stage Fate cultivator like Walker with just his fists. This person has boundless potential."
"However, his Foundation is still somewhat low; he won't make it into the top thirty," Yue Huai Shan commented.
"I beg to differ," Cold Rain said softly. (To be continued...)
