Chapter Ninety-One: Into the Cloud Sea
Lin Feng had consumed a vast amount of blood and flesh from the Ninth-Order Ferocious Beast, filling his body with surging spiritual power, elevating his Physical Strength to an unimaginable level for those at Fate Realization.
Having lost his rationality, his frenzied attacks, while immensely powerful, were utterly chaotic and far from being a match for the Cultists and Barbarians.
The eight Cultists and eight Barbarians attacked Lin Feng from both sides simultaneously, forcing him to keep his hands close and unable to unleash his strength. The sixteen individuals unleashed their Divine Techniques upon Lin Feng, creating a cacophony of metallic clashes.
After an hour of relentless assault, Lin Feng was pushed back two hundred yards.
"We cannot let him get dragged into a melee," Utakak said, thinking to himself that this person possessed treasures they desired. If he were to appear on the battlefield against the demon race, more Cultists would join in, leaving the Barbarians with little chance of claiming victory.
"Then we should change direction," Tu Jue suggested, having his own calculations in mind. Such rare treasures as spirit beasts must not be revealed to others. Among the Cultists, Meng Han was the most ambitious; if the demon race learned of the spirit beast's existence and captured it to give to Meng Han, it would render their efforts futile.
The sixteen shifted their focus and forced Lin Feng back toward the cliff at Cloud Sea. After another hour of fighting, Lin Feng found himself at the edge of the cliff once more. The sixteen had to change direction again.
"Damn it, this guy's Manifestation of Divine Powers is too powerful. Despite our full-force assault from all sixteen of us, he still hasn’t collapsed?"
"Moreover, his Vital Energy is astonishingly abundant; after all this time, there are no signs of depletion?"
The sixteen felt a chill run down their spines as they sensed their own Vital Energy dwindling. Although they still held the upper hand in attacks, it was becoming increasingly strenuous. If two or three of them were secretly hiding their true strength, Lin Feng could retaliate explosively, causing several of them to spit blood from heavy blows.
A moment's distraction could lead to a counterattack from Lin Feng. Thus, none of the sixteen dared to let their guard down.
Another hour passed before they finally noticed cracks appearing in Lin Feng's Golden Dragon Armor. These cracks gradually widened, especially at the joints of the Xuanjia section, threatening to break apart completely.
As the Golden Dragon Armor fractured, Lin Feng's already grotesque body became even more distorted. The spiritual power surged within him pushed through the gaps in the Xuanjia armor, revealing grotesque bulges that resembled tumors—disturbing and terrifying.
These bulging masses emerging from the cracks in the Xuanjia contained terrifying power that seemed ready to explode at any moment.
The reason Lin Feng’s body had not yet ruptured was not only due to his formidable Physical Strength but also because the Golden Dragon Armor played a crucial role in tightly encasing his flesh.
However, as the sixteen Fate Realization experts continued to break through the Golden Dragon Armor, this terrifying spiritual power found an outlet for release and surged wildly toward the cracks in the armor.
Lin Feng had lost his sanity, teetering on the edge of life and death. If even one part of a person's body were to explode, it would be as if every part had shattered, and he would die.
In this moment of crisis, the Stone Pearl within him emitted a humming sound, releasing a vast amount of Chaotic Aura. The Stone Pearl seemed to have a significant connection with the Golden Dragon Armor. Each time the Xuanjia cracked, the Stone Pearl would expel Chaotic Energy to repair it.
As the Chaotic Energy from the Stone Pearl surged forth, the Golden Dragon Armor began to recover at an astonishing speed. The broken parts rejoined, and the cracks on the Xuanjia mended, restoring everything to normal.
"This... how is this possible?" Tu Jue, despite his extensive experience, could hardly believe what he was witnessing. Repairing the Xuanjia was not something that could be accomplished in a short time, especially not for a top-tier Xuanjia.
Another hour passed in their fierce battle, and the Vital Energy of the sixteen Fate Realization experts had been significantly depleted, revealing signs of fatigue. In contrast, although Lin Feng's terrifying aura had weakened somewhat, this decline was far slower compared to that of the sixteen Fate Realization experts.
"What kind of Manifestation of Divine Powers is this? What Ancient Beast is he transforming into? Its power is so astonishing and its duration so long?" Utakak exclaimed in astonishment.
"Such terrifying power can only be achieved by burning one's Essence Blood. Yet this person has not burned his Essence Blood," Tu Jue said, equally perplexed. He wanted to capture Lin Feng and ask him directly about this Manifestation of Divine Powers that allowed someone to maintain such formidable battle strength for so long.
As the sun set and a cold wind blew in, it vanished before it could approach. The terrifying power of the sixteen Fate Realization experts radiated an aura of destruction.
The cold wind could hardly penetrate; snowflakes struggled to fall.
Both sides forced Lin Feng back repeatedly, causing numerous cracks to appear in the ground. After another hour passed, there was little Vital Energy left within the sixteen.
"Brother Uta, if this continues, when our Vital Energy is exhausted, it will be our time to die. This person's Mystical Arts are too profound and mysterious. Moreover, he wears a Golden Dragon Armor that can repair itself; it seems unlikely we can kill him," Tu Jue pondered.
Utakak sighed and asked, "What do you suggest?"
"We can only work together to push him into the Cloud Sea and let him perish," Tu Jue replied.
Utakak anticipated Tu Jue's suggestion but felt unwilling. Pushing Lin Feng into the Cloud Sea would also mean that Spirit Monkey would fall into it as well.
"Is there no other way?" Utakak showed a look of helplessness.
Tu Jue sneered coldly and said, "Or perhaps everyone would be willing to burn their Essence Blood simultaneously for a significant boost in power; maybe then we could kill him."
At these words, everyone fell silent. If it weren't for this life-and-death moment, who would willingly burn their Essence Blood? Why waste their lifespan and cultivation for nothing?
"There's no other way; life is more important."
With both sides reaching a consensus, they unleashed a relentless barrage, forcing Lin Feng to retreat step by step toward the edge of the cliff. Ultimately, he had no choice but to fall off the cliff, plunging into a vast expanse of Cloud Sea.
The sixteen individuals finally ceased their attacks, feeling their hands stiffen and drop weakly by their sides. Sweat drenched their faces, and they gasped for breath, exhaustion etched across their features.
Utakak gazed at Lin Feng's figure disappearing into the Cloud Sea, a sense of loss washing over him as he lamented, "What a pity, such a rare Spirit Monkey, such an extraordinary talent."
Tu Jue also stared at the Cloud Sea, feeling somewhat helpless. At that moment, he had completely forgotten about avenging his brother; all that occupied his mind were the Spirit Monkey and Lin Feng's bizarre and terrifying Manifestation of Divine Powers.
Of course, it was not truly a Manifestation of Divine Powers. If they could consume the flesh and blood of ferocious beasts like Lin Feng did, they too could possess such terrifying explosive power. The prerequisite was that their physical bodies could contain the surge of spiritual energy without shattering.
Fluffy white clouds nestled against each other, forming an endless Cloud Sea that was both magnificent and breathtaking.
Demon Five looked out over the Cloud Sea and asked, "What exactly is this Cloud Sea? What lies on its opposite shore? What is beneath it?"
No one could provide a clear answer. How vast was the Cloud Sea? It seemed boundless. They only knew that this Cloud Sea was visible from Yang Prefecture; whether it was visible from other states in Jiuzhou Continent remained uncertain.
"Regardless of what it is, one thing is certain: anyone who falls down there dies without exception."
Tu Jue then realized that by killing Lin Feng, he had avenged his brother, which brought him some comfort.
In Solitary Moon City, at the edge of a towering cliff.
A woman dressed in purple sat at the cliff's edge, her legs dangling over the void. The cold wind blew fiercely, lifting the hem of her clothes and tousling her hair.
She was Lin Miaomiao.
As Miaomiao felt the wind against her face, her thoughts drifted to Lin Feng. Suddenly, an excruciating pain pierced through her chest, overwhelming her senses. After years of cultivation, she had never endured such agony; it left her unable to sit up straight as tears streamed from her eyes.
Clutching her chest in pain, Miaomiao swayed and fell straight off the cliff.
Just in time, a white figure appeared and caught Miaomiao in his arms, soaring through the air before gently returning to solid ground.
"Junior Sister, what's wrong?" The man in white asked anxiously; he was Lu Wushuang, the senior brother of Solitary Moon City.
Miaomiao glanced at Lu Wushuang, suppressing the intense pain in her chest as she pushed him away. "I'm fine, thank you for your concern, Senior Brother."
"Junior Sister, let me check your pulse," Lu Wushuang said as he stepped closer.
"Don't come any closer." Miaomiao raised her left hand to stop him while her right hand continued to press against her aching chest.
Why did her heart suddenly feel like it was being torn apart? Could something have happened to Lin Feng?
Thinking of this, Miaomiao felt a surge of anxiety. Ignoring the pain, she immediately flew to the shrine of Solitary Moon City and found Elder Xu, pleading with him to take her to the border.
Elder Xu did not agree. Concerned for Lin Feng, Miaomiao sneaked out of Solitary Moon City in the middle of the night and headed toward the border.
