Chapter Twelve: Mountain Training 0

Lin Feng entered the Azure Wind Mountain Range, preparing to hunt fierce beasts for spirit herbs to strengthen his body. 0

After his battle with Lin Qing, Lin Feng realized that although his True Qi Internal Strength was stronger than others at the same Foundation level, his Physical Strength was relatively weak. Therefore, his primary goal was to enhance his Physical Strength. 0

Lin Feng reached the midsection of a mountain and decided to stop using his True Qi. He began to punch the Rock Mountain with all his might. 0

Thud, thud, thud... 0

Each punch struck the Rock Mountain with a resonating sound. With every blow, a fist-sized dent appeared in the rock. Lin Feng gritted his teeth against the excruciating pain and continued to throw punches. After two hours, he felt as if the bones in his fists were shattering, and the flesh was tearing apart. 0

Another two hours passed, and Lin Feng's strength was completely drained. He paused to look at his hands, which were drenched in blood, resembling a layer of red dye. 0

His hands were numb from pain, but even the slightest movement sent sharp agony coursing through him. Lin Feng had no intention of waiting for his hands to recover on their own before growing stronger. 0

He took out a large jar filled with white sea salt. Staring at the salt, he took a deep breath and plunged his hands into it. 0

Ahh... 0

An unprecedented wave of pain surged through him, causing Lin Feng to cry out in agony. This was an ancient method taught to him by Lin Xiao for body training. 0

Lin Feng soaked his hands in the sea salt for half an hour before pulling them out to apply some medicinal herbs while waiting for them to heal. He continued this rigorous training for ten days and felt that his hands had significantly strengthened; even without using True Qi, he could crush a rock with bare hands. 0

"It really works! What if I use my True Qi as well?" 0

Lin Feng looked at a massive boulder in front of him and channeled his True Qi. His hands formed fists as he struck the boulder. With a loud bang, the entire boulder shattered into pieces, and his hands remained unscathed. 0

What Lin Feng did not know was that each time he healed from injury, the Stone Pearl within him activated, absorbing Chaotic Energy to nourish his entire body, facilitating recovery and leading to significant changes in his hands. It was also the presence of the Stone Pearl that allowed Lin Feng to narrowly escape death under Lin Qing's spiritual weapon. 0

"I can't just focus on my hands; true physical strength comes from the whole body." 0

With results evident, Lin Feng was determined and fully believed in this ancient method. He stripped off his clothes, leaving only his trousers, took a deep breath, and charged straight into the Rock Mountain. 0

Bang! Bang! Bang! 0

At first, Lin Feng crashed against Rock Mountain, feeling a painful jolt in his head and his flesh tearing apart. 0

Bang! Bang! Bang! 0

Despite the excruciating pain coursing through his body, Lin Feng continued to strike, discovering that certain parts of his body could create dents in Rock Mountain. For instance, his shoulders and hips. 0

Bang! Bang! Bang! 0

Lin Feng struck for a full eight hours. He hit from every angle—front, back, and sides. From a distance, he looked like a Blood Man, drenched in blood, with some areas even exposing bone, a sight too gruesome to behold. 0

Lin Feng was solely focused on becoming stronger, ignoring everything else. In his mind, there was only one thought: enduring hardship was the path to greatness. To achieve what others could not, one must do what others would not. 0

After exhausting all his strength, Lin Feng took out a large water tank he had prepared earlier and climbed inside. He took several deep breaths before pouring in a large amount of sea salt, submerging himself completely. 0

This time, Lin Feng did not scream; it wasn't that he felt no pain, but rather that the pain was so intense it left him breathless and on the verge of suffocation. His entire body trembled, with some parts convulsing uncontrollably. 0

A whole incense stick's worth of time passed before Lin Feng could finally exhale. His lips quivered incessantly, and his face was frighteningly pale. 0

"Indeed, this is something ordinary people cannot endure; it hurts too much." 0

Recalling the terrifying agony he had just experienced sent shivers down Lin Feng's spine. 0

An hour later, after finishing the salt bath, the intense pain had drained him of all energy, making it difficult for him to rise. After another incense stick's worth of time passed, Lin Feng regained some strength and managed to support himself against the tank to stand up. 0

Looking at his body now was even more horrifying. The blood had soaked in the sea salt for too long and had turned into a bloody liquid, making his wounds look as if they were festering and repulsive. 0

"No wonder this ancient method has never been attempted; it's simply self-destructive." 0

This time, after suffering such severe injuries, Lin Feng needed five days to recover fully. After five days, he was astonished to find that he had made a breakthrough; his Foundation had reached the fourth level. 0

"Not only has my Foundation advanced, but my physical body has also become significantly stronger." 0

Lin Feng was overjoyed, feeling that all the suffering he had endured was worth it. At this moment, he was filled with confidence; with his current physical strength, he believed he could defeat Lin Qing even without using True Qi. 0

"Time waits for no one. I need to seize the moment and strive to train my body as much as possible before heading to Solitary Moon City." 0

Lin Feng once again launched himself into a collision, and this time, the impact created a human-shaped indentation in the Rock Mountain. 0

Bang! Bang! Bang! 0

Lin Feng struck repeatedly like a monk ringing a bell, each collision echoing loudly. 0

Roar... 0

Suddenly, a roar echoed from deep within the Azure Wind Mountain Range. The sound was like Thunderous Roar, penetrating deep into Lin Feng's heart and sending chills down his spine. 0

"What’s going on?" 0

Lin Feng stopped and quietly scanned his surroundings but found nothing unusual. 0

Suddenly, he felt the ground shaking, as if the entire Azure Wind Mountain Range was trembling. In the distance, he caught sight of a terrifying sight. 0

A massive shadow slowly rose from deep within the Azure Wind Mountain Range. The shadow was covered in fur, resembling the body of a ferocious beast. As the enormous shadow loomed over the giant trees and towered above the mountains, Lin Feng finally saw the head of the beast. 0

It had a flat nose, a protruding forehead, and a white head with a blue body—like that of a monkey. 0

"Ah..." 0

Lin Feng stood frozen in shock, utterly astonished. There was actually a beast as tall as the mountain beneath him. Its arm was as thick as a giant tree. 0

The monkey-like beast displayed an expression of fury and bellowed, "Who dares disturb my slumber? Get lost!" 0

The voice thundered across the entire Azure Wind Mountain Range. As it reached Lin Feng's ears, he felt an excruciating pain as if his eardrums were about to burst. It was important to note that he was several thousand miles away from the depths of the Azure Wind Mountain Range. 0

"I... I’m sorry! I just wanted to train my body; I didn’t mean to disturb you." 0

Lin Feng timidly apologized to the enormous beast in the distance. It was rumored that if a fierce beast could speak, it was a sign of spiritual communication, and its power was astonishing. If it could communicate, perhaps it could understand him. Lin Feng sincerely admitted his mistake, hoping for the Giant Ape's forgiveness. Otherwise, even its fart could obliterate him. 0

Deep within the Azure Wind Mountain Range, a gray figure soared into the air until it reached the same height as the Giant Ape. It hovered in the Void, seemingly discussing something with the Giant Ape about the mountains. 0

"So it wasn't me who awakened this terrifying being." 0

Lin Feng wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, only to realize that he was drenched in it. 0

He had no idea what the gray figure talked about with the Giant Ape, but soon after, the Giant Ape's body began to change and then vanished into the mountains. 0

"If even the Giant Ape can be subdued, how powerful must that person be? To linger in the Void as if walking on solid ground—what level of Foundation has he reached? Has he become an immortal?" 0

Lin Feng muttered to himself while gazing at the Azure Wind Mountain Range, feeling pitifully small. Just moments ago, he had been brimming with confidence after defeating Lin Qing'er with his bare hands, but now he realized he was at the very bottom of the Cultivator hierarchy—the most wretched of all. 0

"Who would have thought one could cultivate to such strength? Even the family head probably doesn't know. If he can do it, why can't I? He wasn't born powerful; he cultivated step by step." 0

"I don't aspire to be as powerful as him, but I hope to be the strongest where I live, unbothered by anyone. My word should be law; my sense of fairness should be the world's fairness." 0

With unwavering determination, Lin Feng continued to strike against the mountain using the ancient methods taught to him by Lin Xiao. 0

In a blink, twenty-five days passed. In five more days, he would escort Miaomiao to Solitary Moon City. These five days were enough for Lin Feng to continue his mountain strikes for another cycle. 0

Monks striking bells and woodpeckers pecking trees were common sights. However, a person striking a mountain with their own body was certainly a rare phenomenon—only Lin Feng could accomplish such a feat. 0

Not knowing any better methods of cultivation, he could only resort to this crude and simple approach. 0

After completing his final strike against the mountain, Lin Feng gritted his teeth in pain; his body was covered in bruises and blood stained his skin. He had grown accustomed to this suffering. Just as he was about to dive into his water tank, he noticed it was missing. 0

"Where's my water tank?" 0

Lin Feng searched every corner of the cave he was in but found no trace of it. This cave had not formed naturally; it was carved out by Lin Feng day and night through his relentless strikes. 0

"Who stole my water tank?" 0

Lin Feng couldn't help but shout. After all the trouble of crashing into the mountain, if he didn't get to soak in sea salt, wouldn't it all be for nothing? Filled with resentment, Lin Feng vowed that if he found out who had stolen his water tank, he would teach them a lesson. 0

How should he teach them a lesson? He could grab them and throw them against the mountain. 0

"Since I can't find the water tank, I guess I'll just have to sprinkle sea salt on myself. Although it won't be as effective, it's better than having crashed into the mountain for nothing." 0

Lin Feng went to look for the sea salt, only to discover that it was missing. He had brought a large quantity of sea salt for his training—over ten meters worth of bags—and now it was all gone. 0

"Who stole my sea salt? Who?" 0

Unable to contain his anger, Lin Feng felt an urge to hit someone. Then a fragrant aroma wafted through the air—a beautifully enticing scent of meat, seemingly coming from below the cave where he was. 0

(Note: I wanted to avoid writing something too tragic and thought it would be nice to lighten things up a bit, hence this chapter about crashing into the mountain. Did it have a humorous effect? Please provide feedback.) 0
