Due to the Blackhawk's flying device utilizing Feathered Mechanical Wings, its low-altitude gliding speed was incredibly fast. By the time the internal Human prepared to finish off Wen Yue City, Blackhawk had already silently aimed and locked onto all enemies at high speed. The shot was fired from the Laser Emitter on the wrist of its shadowy form. By the time the internal Human reacted and raised their gun to aim again, Blackhawk swiftly ascended, spreading its wings, with seventy percent of the wing tips directed towards the targets on the ground.
"Hostages eliminated, all biological targets locked," reported Blackhawk's artificial intelligence to Liang Muqi.
"Fire."
With a command given, all wings descended like a thunderstorm. However, this was not a full-range attack; each wing's trajectory was precisely calculated by the AI within the Black Hawk Armor, targeting the enemies' chests and skulls directly!
In an instant, all enemies on the ground were pierced into a bloody mess by Blackhawk's wings, leaving a gruesome scene. Wen Yue City screamed in horror at witnessing his kin being slaughtered so mercilessly, but his cries were drowned out by the wails of his people. When everything fell silent again, he remembered his own identity—he was now an internal Human, but his remaining life had been entrusted to this figure clad in Black Hawk Armor above.
"Are you okay?"
Seeing that all targets had been cleared, Blackhawk retracted its wings and landed immediately after they returned to their original position. It glanced towards Wen Yue City's marked location. While it eliminated threats, Zombie King had already reached the rooftop of a nearby residential building, easily subduing two snipers among the internal Humans. Aibo and Xu Yicheng kept a watchful eye on the movements of nearby townsfolk; they hoped to minimize the social impact of this operation.
Initially, Liang Muqi thought he was the main force protecting Wen Yue City. However, he soon realized that the number of internal Humans he had killed was far less than those who had come to hunt Wen Yue City.
"Liang! Up there!" Before Wen Yue City could respond, he pointed and shouted from behind a stone tablet.
Just as Liang Muqi unlocked his head armor and turned around, a laser beam struck directly at the front of his helmet! Although it wouldn't harm Liang Muqi physically, this sudden hit caused Blackhawk to stagger back and collapse on the ground, taking a long moment to recover. Fortunately, without Wen Yue City's warning, he might have inadvertently removed his protection and faced deadly consequences.
"Are you okay?" Wen Yue City called out from behind the stone tablet, reaching out in an attempt to touch his armor.
"I'm fine!" Blackhawk's green visor lifted as it shone like a flashlight towards the hidden enemies on the city wall. The laser beam struck its armor but had no effect whatsoever. The Black Hawk Armor was made from state-of-the-art ultra-high-strength steel with excellent radiation resistance and mechanical properties, making its defensive capabilities far superior to those of Fierce Eagle Armor. Such laser bullets wouldn't even trigger the warning system on Black Hawk Armor.
"I just got startled; I really lack experience," Blackhawk explained nonchalantly as it stood up amidst the hail of bullets.
"These attacks have no effect on him!" The internal Humans on the city wall shouted to one another.
"What should we do?" Everyone looked towards the leader orchestrating this ambush. He was the smallest among all internal Humans on the wall but possessed a uniquely sharp and vicious gaze. Since the snipers opened fire until now, his eyes had been fixed intently on the stone tablet where Wen Yue City hid; even in darkness, he remained focused. He was an unwavering proponent serving Ban Sa; in their eyes, betraying their kin's faith was a crime deserving of death without redemption.
Thus, their plan hinged solely on eliminating Wen Yue City. However, they overlooked an important safety consideration—The Celestial Warriors would also come, not just for Wen Yue City's safety but to destroy their sanctuary altogether. This realization dawned upon this short planner when he witnessed Blackhawk joining forces with The Celestial Warriors; it became clear that this was no mere murder—it would cost them their lives.
"You all come here." The short leader finally shifted his gaze and urgently summoned his fellow kin nearby. "Get our Guardian out! If our Guardian falls too, remember to protect the Quantum String Engine Locator at all costs; we cannot let Earthlings discover our final secrets! Move quickly!"
On another front,
"Doctor, do you have any updates?" Zombie King asked through team communications while directing a black energy sphere towards two snipers lying on the ground. The one near Sun's point had already ceased breathing. Zombie King's first punch shattered part of the wall, sending both men tumbling around a corner where there was a staircase; one struck his head against a protrusion and died instantly while the other fell into unconsciousness. Zombie King needed to remain vigilant against him waking up; although he posed no life-threatening danger to himself, an enemy lying down was always preferable to one standing up.
"For now, nothing significant; just now at eight o'clock direction about two kilometers away in a neighborhood some lights flickered on and off quickly—hopefully it won't affect the city," Xu Yicheng replied while standing on Aibo's shoulder.
At that moment, however, a sound akin to a small earthquake emanated from Blackhawk's direction and Wen Yue City's location—a sound like bells ringing within thick fog. Zombie King felt an ominous premonition and turned to look over there. "Liang Muqi, is everything going smoothly on your end?" Xu Yicheng hurriedly asked.
"Uh..." On the city wall, Blackhawk turned around and looked up at what loomed before him in shadowy form. "I fear it won't be very smooth."
The internal Humans of this sanctuary had brought out their trump card weapon.
A few minutes ago, the Guardian was released, appearing from an unknown location. While Blackhawk was engaged in close combat with the internal Humans on the city wall, the Guardian fell onto the wall like a mountain, landing right behind Blackhawk.
"A giant robot, standing five meters tall, completely covered in armor... its material is surprisingly similar to mine," Blackhawk's artificial intelligence exclaimed in a tone of human-like astonishment.
Liang Muqi was also taken aback by this hulking figure, struggling to even see its eyes from his vantage point. The information being relayed by the AI within his armor only added to his dread. The mechanical structure of the Guardian bore an uncanny resemblance to the armor he had developed. Liang Muqi could hardly fathom that one day these internal Humans would use his technology to defend themselves against humanity!
"Liang Muqi, hurry back to Wen Yue City! They are targeting him!" Xu Yicheng urged. Meanwhile, Aibo, upon learning that a robot even larger than itself had arrived, quickly made its way toward the West Gate Tower.
Its fists were as large as half of its own body!
After dodging a punch from the Guardian, Blackhawk's first reaction was shock at its size. Liang Muqi was still grappling with how they could utilize his technology and where they had sourced the materials to create such a terrifying monster. A massive crater appeared on the city wall as Blackhawk could visibly see the entire structure shaking, debris falling as he descended back beside Wen Yue City.
"Are you okay?" Both Liang Muqi and Wen Yue City spoke in unison, but the situation left no room for pleasantries. The Guardian leaped down after Blackhawk, shaking the ground upon landing. The internal Humans had given the Guardian only two commands: first, to stop the Earthlings at all costs; second, to kill Wen Yue City.
Initially, the internal Humans believed only Wen Yue City would come; they never anticipated that the Celestial Warriors would also appear here. With their plans disrupted, they had to retreat. The most critical task for them was still to protect the Quantum String Engine Locator. The Guardian's deployment bought them valuable time for their withdrawal; now there were no internal Humans visible on the city wall.
Thus, the Guardian began executing its second mission: to kill Wen Yue City.
"Wen Yue City, run back! Run!" Blackhawk's head armor quickly assembled as Liang Muqi decided to provide cover for Wen Yue City. However, the Guardian showed no intention of allowing Wen Yue City to escape. The AI within Black Hawk Armor reported to Liang Muqi: "Heat source detected; target is not you."
With that, Liang Muqi saw a schematic unfold on the left side of his head armor, hovering before him—a red reticle had already locked onto Wen Yue City behind him.
"Come back! Hide behind me!" Blackhawk shouted urgently to Wen Yue City. An idea flashed through his mind; yet even with his strength, he couldn't guarantee success. At this point, he had no choice but to take a gamble.
On both arms of the Guardian, a pair of cannons gradually extended and connected, their dark muzzles blending into the night before being illuminated like two floating lanterns. However, this light did not evoke warmth for Blackhawk and Wen Yue City; instead, it instilled fear—these cannons were nearly as wide as main battle tank barrels and were charging up.
Knowing he could not evade the Guardian's firepower no matter what, Wen Yue City's only hope lay in Liang Muqi's guidance. He crouched behind Blackhawk, bracing for judgment to fall upon them. If Blackhawk couldn't withstand it, he would surely perish here.
The armor on Blackhawk's wrist unfolded as a Particle Shield sprang forth; with both hands holding shields crafted from his assembly work, it formed a massive barrier covering a hundred eighty degrees directly ahead in preparation for the impending assault!
As soon as the particle shield touched down, Liang Muqi instinctively closed his eyes. Even for him, he had never fully utilized all of Black Hawk Armor's capabilities in actual combat. Three years ago during his duel with Fierce Eagle, he had only employed forty percent of its theoretical performance; much of that fight had been a physical confrontation with An Xiaotian. This time marked Black Hawk Armor's first direct confrontation with weapons from internal Humans!
