Upon arriving at the dormitory, Wei Ning realized it was class time, and the room was empty. He figured he would head to the classroom just before the end of the period for his next class. 0

Zhang Kai spotted Wei Ning first and immediately pulled him into a hug, then scolded, "Man, you really messed us up! Do you know that? We had to cover for you during roll call. If you don’t come back soon, we won’t be able to keep this lie going any longer. Where have you been? You didn’t even give us a call!" 0

Wei Ning quickly made up an excuse and greeted Guo Fei and Sun Bing. Just then, the bell rang, signaling the start of the most boring class of all—Moral Philosophy. 0

After class, the three of them decided to make Wei Ning treat them to dinner as payback. Knowing how much they had helped him, Wei Ning didn’t refuse. The four of them set off towards Zhang Ye's restaurant, but when they arrived, they found the door locked. Zhang Ye hadn’t returned yet; Wei Ning guessed he was still at the hospital taking care of Wu Haozi. 0

They found another restaurant and ordered a few extravagant dishes as revenge on Wei Ning. Although he wasn’t angry about it, he went along with their plans. Later that evening, Wei Ning called Zhang Ye, who confirmed he was still at the hospital. He kept saying how lucky Wu Haozi was; if it had been anyone else, they would have surely died from such injuries. Surprisingly, this little guy had pulled through. Thanks to Wei Ning's timely first aid and no infections during recovery, Wu Haozi was expected to be out of the hospital in about a month. When Wei Ning inquired about medical expenses, Zhang Ye assured him that since Wu Haozi got hurt while working for him, there was no need for Wei Ning to worry about it. 0

Thus, after visiting Wu Haozi a few times and confirming he was out of danger, Wei Ning finally felt at ease. Over a month passed; during classes and breaks in their freshman year, which mainly consisted of general courses, everyone had no chance to encounter the rumored mysterious morgue. 0

One day after class, Guo Fei mysteriously pulled Wei Ning aside. When asked what was going on, Guo Fei remained tight-lipped until he dragged Wei Ning to a secluded spot. Finally, he hesitantly spoke up. "Don’t you think Sun Bing has been acting… strangely lately?" 0

Wei Ning thought for a moment and replied, "Not really; he seems fine to me. We're all good friends." 0

Guo Fei shook his head and pointed to his head. "I think something’s off up here." 0

"That’s impossible; you’re overthinking it," Wei Ning chuckled. 0

"No, really," Guo Fei insisted mysteriously. "It’s about your situation—don’t tell anyone." 0

"What situation?" 0

"Just a few nights ago, I went to use the restroom," Guo Fei recalled with lingering fear in his voice. "You know I’m not very brave. Anyway, I felt like someone was following me. I thought… I thought it might be something unclean… so I got scared and hid in the restroom." 0

Guo Fei's face grew increasingly pale, as if the experience still haunted him. "I just heard footsteps, and then it seemed like someone was kicking the bathroom door. I had locked it, and after a few kicks, they stopped. I was scared someone was outside, so I didn't dare to come out." 0

"Why are you so timid?" Wei Ning found it amusing. "It must have been someone needing to use the bathroom. If you were scared of someone being in there, why kick the door?" 0

"It wasn't like that! I was genuinely terrified. I hid in the bathroom and didn't come out until it got light. You know what? That person who kicked the door was actually standing in the bathroom next to mine, staring at me from above all night long! And they didn't make a sound. I was really scared..." Guo Fei patted his chest. "Do you know who that person was? It was Sun Bing! Can you believe it..." 0

"Is that for real?" 0

"I'm not joking! You think I'm kidding?" Guo Fei pointed at his head. "That really scared me to death." 0

Guo Fei had always been introverted and not very sociable, so Wei Ning didn't take this matter too seriously. He usually got along fine with Sun Bing and the others, and over time, he gradually forgot about it. However, Guo Fei's personality became increasingly reclusive. Meanwhile, Zhang Ye called Wu Haozi to say he was being discharged from the hospital, prompting Wei Ning to rush to the hospital after class. 0

Upon arriving at the hospital, Zhang Ye came up to him and, with a half-smile, pointed at Wu Haozi, who was hiding under the covers and fidgeting like a shy girl—completely unlike his usual self. 0

Wei Ning found it strange and asked what was going on, only to see Wu Haozi blush. Zhang Ye struggled to contain his laughter, looking quite pained by it all. This left Wei Ning utterly confused. 0

"It's nothing; just a stomachache," Wu Haozi said weakly. 0

Zhang Ye couldn't hold back any longer: "That stomach... Oh my God..." He mimicked a pregnant woman’s posture and exclaimed, "You're about to give birth!" 0

"The doctor said it's a tumor! Do you understand what that means? It's really hard to communicate with someone like you who hasn't even graduated from middle school," Wu Haozi argued back. 0

It turned out that after Wu Haozi's stomach had been stitched up, he noticed something strange: his belly started to swell like a pregnant woman's without him realizing when it began. The hospital conducted various tests—ultrasounds and X-rays—but found nothing wrong. In the end, they diagnosed it as a tumor. Since it wasn't painful or bothersome, he just wanted to get discharged quickly. 0

"Why are you still here when it's time to give birth? Doctor, hurry and transfer her to obstetrics. By the way, who is the father of the child? Hurry up!" Zhang Ye shouted, teasing Wu Haozi. 0

"Damn it, Zhang! What do you mean by that?" Wu Haozi's face turned red with anger. 0

"The father of the child, this is your kid. Are you going to abandon it?" Zhang Ye continued mockingly. 0

"I can get myself pregnant if I want to! If you have the guts, try getting a woman pregnant instead. I'll write my name backwards if I can't!" 0

Wu Haozi was clearly not one to back down, and Zhang Ye's temper flared. He rolled his fists, ready to punch Wu Haozi, who jumped up and took a stance, saying, "If you're a man, step outside and settle this. This place isn't for fighting." 0

Zhang Ye pointed at Wu Haozi and said, "You little brat, don't come." With that, he turned to leave. Wu Haozi quickly got out of bed and followed him. 0

Wei Ning watched these two clowns with a headache but couldn't help but smile. It seemed that Wu Haozi was really getting better, and the worry in her heart lifted. She hurriedly intervened between the two, trying to ease the tension. One-on-one, Wu Haozi might not be able to take Zhang Ye, but he was clever in fights and had surprisingly strong arms. If they really started brawling, Zhang Ye would likely win by a narrow margin. However, after spending time together, they had become good buddies; their quarrels were just for show and wouldn’t escalate into real fights. 0

After confirming with Wu Haozi's attending physician that he could indeed be discharged, Wei Ning began helping him pack his things. Zhang Ye had already covered all the medical expenses. 0

Once Wu Haozi was sent off, Zhang Ye invited Wei Ning to his restaurant for a meal. By the time they returned to the dormitory, it was already dark. Sun Bing rushed over as soon as he saw Wei Ning return. "Where have you been? People have been waiting for you outside for quite a while." 0

Aside from Zhang Ye and classmates, Wei Ning didn't know anyone else in this place, so she was puzzled. Just then, someone walked in from outside. Upon seeing Wei Ning, he smiled and said, "Long time no see." 0
