Suddenly, the Coffin Lid began to shake violently, as if the Black Earth had collapsed. With a loud crash, it sank down, revealing a bright red coffin, from which black blood flowed continuously. 0

The man’s expression brightened, and he proclaimed loudly, "I have nurtured you for a thousand days, now I shall use you for a moment. Offering you rice and chicken blood, quickly heed my command!" 0

If Wei Qiuxi's God of Joy could still be considered "human," then this Zombie could only be described as terrifying. Its entire skin had been stripped away, exposing bright red muscle beneath. Its facial features were completely destroyed, resembling a grotesque red ball. Even more horrifying was that half of its right brain had been bitten off, and what remained was a mass of writhing, blood-red things that looked like intertwined worms. 0

Wei Ning felt nauseous, and Wei Qiuxi quickly grabbed him tightly, covering his mouth. 0

Meanwhile, the God of Joy stood frozen in place, trembling as if in great fear. 0

"Haha," the man cackled like a night owl. "You truly have not failed me!" 0

The Zombie walked directly toward the God of Joy, which trembled even more violently but seemed to regard it with deep reverence, not daring to move an inch. The Zombie slowly extended its nearly one-centimeter-long fingernails toward it. The God of Joy shook even more but still did not dare to budge. The Zombie's fingers plunged straight into the God of Joy's head, tearing off its scalp and exposing the white brain matter inside. It then stuffed the brain matter into its "mouth" and began to chew with an expression that seemed to convey immense enjoyment. 0

The God of Joy shook uncontrollably as brain matter flowed out from its skull. 0

"So that's how it is," Wei Qiuxi said in horror, his face twisting in disgust. 0

"Ghost Borrowing a Corpse." 0

Unable to contain himself any longer, Wei Qiuxi stood up and shouted sternly, "Master, how can you use such dark sorcery? Are you not afraid of being struck by lightning?" 0

The man appeared unfazed by Wei Qiuxi's outburst and replied calmly, "The Corpse Controlling Pattern shows signs of someone having tampered with it. I thought it was merely coincidence; I didn't expect someone to be nearby." 0

"Master, it's not too late to stop now. Otherwise, if Ghost Borrowing a Corpse succeeds, it will surely lead to calamity on earth." 0

The man replied indifferently, "It's too late. Crimson Evil has already taken form; what comes next is beyond my control." 0

"If we join forces, we can surely subdue this disaster and then burn it away." 0

The man rolled his eyes dismissively. "Who are you? Why should I listen to you?" 0

"I am Wei Qiuxi from Chen Prefecture." 0

The man replied calmly, "I've heard of the Wei Family from Chen Prefecture, but I have not heard of Wei Qiuxi." 0

Wei Qiuxi stamped his foot and said, "This is not the time for discussions; we must eliminate this threat first." 0

He pulled out the Copper Coin Sword from his robe and was ready to strike. 0

"If you think you can handle the Crimson Evil, feel free to make your move. I have no objections." 0

"You, you, you. Are you really not afraid of retribution? Not afraid of facing your ancestors from the Wu Family in the afterlife?" 0

The man suddenly appeared deep in thought. "Retribution? What is retribution? Soul scattering, being cast into the eighteenth layer of hell, never to rise again. Ancestors? Ha ha." He suddenly laughed maniacally. "How ridiculous! When I was half-dead from Zhou Zhengkang's hands back then, where were my ancestors? I crawled out of the grave; where were they? A joke." 0

Wei Qiuxi's mind suddenly sparked with realization. "I know now; you must be that Foot Master from back then. You didn't die." 0

The man coldly replied, "I didn't die. Of course, I won't die. That bastard Zhou Zhengkang is still alive; how could I allow myself to die before him?" 0

He walked up to the Crimson Evil, his eyes filled with tenderness. "My dear, we will be together forever; no one can tear us apart. We will reclaim what others owe me, and then we will never be separated again." 0

The Crimson Evil licked the brain matter off its lips, its face twisted in a terrifying grimace. 0

Wei Qiuxi said, "If your only intention is revenge, I can turn a blind eye for the sake of our shared lineage over these decades. However, you should know that Ghost Borrowing a Corpse is one of the most dangerous and malicious techniques in corpse cultivation. Once the borrowing succeeds and it evades the Inferno's lightning, it becomes an immortal Drought Corpse. At that point, the devastation will be beyond what either of us can bear." 0

The man sneered, "If I hadn't found Rou Er when her corpse had already rotted away, why would I go through all this trouble? But I must thank you for bringing me such an intact God of Joy." 0

Wei Qiuxi said, "Enough! Today I will risk my life to bury this incomplete Drought Corpse." He pulled out the Copper Coin Sword from his robe and lit the Chen State Talisman with his other hand, chanting incantations as he aimed to stab at the monstrous corpse. 0

"First, take care of your grandson," the man coldly laughed. 0

Wei Qiuxi turned around and saw that his grandson had unknowingly stood there, his feet entangled with the long red worms that had been left in Crimson Evil's brain. The worms clung to Wei Ning like leeches, their bodies slowly swelling, a faint white light flickering ominously within the red glow. 0

"Three Corpse Worms!" Wei Qiuxi was horrified; he knew all too well about these evil creatures that fed on human vitality. He quickly swung his sword, severing the two worms, but it seemed as if the Three Corpse Worms multiplied with each strike. No matter how he cut them, they only grew more numerous. Wei Ning's face grew increasingly pale, and some of the Three Corpse Worms had already crawled up to his upper body. As Wei Ning lost more of his vitality, the worms expanded further. 0

Some of the Three Corpse Worms had burrowed into Wei Ning's body, leaving half of their bodies outside. The portion that had entered could be seen writhing beneath his skin. 0

If the Three Corpse Worms crawled above his neck, even a deity would find it difficult to save him. 0

Wei Qiuxi reached into his robe and pulled out some Cinnabar, sprinkling it over Wei Ning's body. The burrowing worms seemed to encounter something terrifying and all crawled back out. 0

It worked. Wei Qiuxi sighed in relief. He shaped a talisman into a fragrant form and ignited each finger of Wei Ning's left hand one by one. As each finger caught fire, a burnt smell filled the air. For an ordinary person, this would have been excruciatingly painful, but Wei Ning was lost in a daze and felt no pain. 0

At that moment, the Three Corpse Worms clinging to Wei Ning began to scatter. Wei Qiuxi sprinkled more Cinnabar; the worms seemed to despise this scent and crawled down from Wei Ning's body back into Crimson Evil's head. 0

Only then did Wei Qiuxi let out a long breath. He carried Wei Ning to a nearby grave mound and sprinkled a circle of Cinnabar around it. He affixed several talismans and pressed down on Wei Ning's acupoint. Gradually, Wei Ning began to awaken. Wei Qiuxi burned another talisman on the ground and stuffed the ash mixed with dirt into Wei Ning's mouth. 0

Wei Ning frowned as he swallowed, clearly finding the taste unpleasant. 0

The person remained motionless, witnessing the entire process of Wei Qiuxi driving away the Three Corpse Worms. Their opinion of Wei Qiuxi rose significantly, and they couldn't help but think of someone else, though they hesitated to confirm it. 0
