Chu Donglin's gaze was cold and unapproachable as he looked at the mass before him, a grotesque sight resembling a Meat Mountain. His eyes were filled with murderous intent.
The creature that had been blasted away shook its head in a daze, roaring as it stood up again, opening its gaping maw to roar at Chu Donglin.
"Roar!!!"
The piercing roar was accompanied by the foul stench emanating from the creature's mouth.
Several Tentacles sprouted from the creature's chest and suddenly lashed out, whipping towards Chu Donglin at the entrance like a whip.
The speed was beyond human imagination, leaving afterimages in its wake, and the whooshing sound of wind signified its immense power.
The girl, Ling Er, displayed a look of terror on her face and screamed.
"Big Brother! Watch out..."
Before her cry could finish, the floor in front of Chu Donglin cracked open, and dozens of sharp Rebars shot up.
Thud thud thud thud—
With the sound of piercing, the Tentacle that had lashed out was immediately impaled by the sharp Rebars, twitching in the air for a moment, unable to break free.
"Roar!!!"
The creature let out a painful howl from its mouth.
Its Blood-red Eyes glared at Chu Donglin, filled with hatred and rage.
It roared as it charged at Chu Donglin, its massive body carrying a nauseating stench. The Tentacle, pinned by the Rebars, writhed in agony but managed to force itself free.
Amidst the splattering blood, the severed Tentacle continued to lash towards Chu Donglin, roaring fiercely while spraying thick droplets of blood.
The speed was terrifying, almost beyond anyone's imagination. It was a horror that ordinary people could hardly comprehend. In an instant, only a shadow remained visible.
Ling Er couldn't help but gasp, as if she had witnessed Chu Donglin being sent flying by the monster.
Then...
Bang—
A muffled sound echoed, bones shattered, and blood splattered.
Chu Donglin didn't even take a step back; he threw a punch directly at the monster, landing squarely on its cheek.
The fatty flesh absorbed his strength, and the monster's nose shattered instantly, one eye bulging out grotesquely. The other eye exploded on impact, blood mixed with viscous fluid gushing forth.
As for the monster's massive body, which had charged at Chu Donglin with tremendous force, it seemed to hit a pause button the moment it collided with him. Chu Donglin's fist struck its cheek, and in that instant of sudden stop due to inertia, the monster's hefty frame lifted off the ground as if Chu Donglin were holding its head up.
It looked as if Chu Donglin was effortlessly lifting it by its skull.
“Roar... Roar roar!!!”
The monster's eyes were filled with rage and hatred born from pain.
It howled furiously. The intense pain only fueled its ferocity, and the tentacles on its chest lashed out toward Chu Donglin. At the same time, a pair of dark, vicious claws reached out to grab him, attempting to attack.
Booming—
A terrifying tremor shook the ground and the Flower Board simultaneously.
Then countless sharp rebars shot up from both the Flower Board and the floor... These rebars from above and below formed a steel thicket in an instant, piercing through the roaring monster and trapping it in place, creating a spiky ball-like formation.
Countless streams of blood flowed from the monster's body, and in an instant, the hundreds of rebar that pierced through it left it riddled with holes, like a sieve.
Its attacking motion froze in mid-air, and even the twisted tentacle writhing from its chest fell limp after a few spasms, falling silent.
As Chu Donglin retracted the numerous rebar back into the Flower Board and the floor, the monster, having lost its support, crashed to the ground like a massive Meat Mountain, producing a dull thud.
In its blood-red eyes, there was no longer any light, only a dead gray emptiness remained.
A machete flew out from behind Chu Donglin and cleaved through the monster's bloated head.
In the center of that red-and-white head, Chu Donglin found an Evolution Crystal… a strange Evolution Crystal.
It was not the common type filled with energy and viruses; this crystal gave Chu Donglin an unsettling feeling, as if it had been contaminated, emanating a slightly cold dark aura… similar to that woman who called herself Acha.
Chu Donglin took a deep breath and cleaned the Evolution Crystal before putting it away.
This crystal could not be consumed because he was unsure if eating such a contaminated crystal would cause some bizarre mutation. However, he also couldn't just discard it; he planned to study it further when he had time.
He turned to look at the two people in the living room, his gaze settling on Keara, who was unconscious in Ban Qingya's arms.
"Is Keara injured?"
Ban Qingya nodded and then asked another pressing question, "Mr. Chu, did you see anyone else when you arrived? Is everyone in the camp okay?"
Her face was filled with worry and anxiety. Even though the girl Ling'er had already told her the truth, she still held onto a glimmer of hope that others might have escaped.
However, Chu Donglin shook his head and sighed.
"My condolences…"
He did not make it clear, but Ban Qingya already understood his meaning. Even the strongest heart could hardly withstand such news.
Ban Qingya's face turned pale, and her lips trembled lightly.
But at least she did not cry out.
She took a deep breath and handed the unconscious girl to Chu Donglin.
"Mr. Chu, please take Keara and Ling'er away first. I want to stay and see... at least, I need to prepare for everyone's burial."
Chu Donglin glanced at the woman, understanding that she was still unwilling to give up, trying to find any survivors in the camp.
He did not persuade her or point out her intentions; instead, he silently nodded and took the unconscious girl. "I'll come back for you tomorrow morning."
The mutated zombies in the vicinity had already been driven away by Chu Donglin. Now that the only threatening monster was dead, there was no longer any danger to Ban Qingya's life, so he was not worried about her safety.
He carried the unconscious Keara outside, with the girl Ling'er following closely behind him as they quickly left the area.
After they departed, Ban Qingya, standing in the living room, took a deep breath, turned around, and walked into her bedroom to change out of her nightgown into a more practical outfit.
Then she equipped herself with a weapon for self-defense and quietly left the room, heading downstairs. (To be continued...)
