"No matter what question you ask, I will answer truthfully."
The enchanting woman smiled softly as she spoke these suggestive words, enough to leave any man in the world speechless.
However, Chu Donglin merely looked at her coldly, unaffected by her charm.
"Are these monsters transformed from humans? And did you do it?"
"Don't be so rude... What monsters? These fellows are the kin of Cthulhu, the most favored believers of Cthulhu. You can call them Deep Divers. Of course, they aren't true Deep Divers, as their original forms are human; they have just been temporarily altered into this shape by me. Essentially, they are still human."
Acha giggled and continued, "Alright, now it's my turn to ask... Hmm, Mr. Chu Le, you previously inquired about Mr. Liu Shan Shu's whereabouts. Can you tell me what your relationship with Mr. Liu Shan Shu is?"
With that, she walked over to the unconscious Liu Shan Shu and gently bent down to lift his limp body.
As she bent down, whether by coincidence or design, her ample curves were fully exposed to Chu Donglin's view.
From Chu Donglin's angle, through the opening of her qipao, he could even see a generous amount of fair skin and a deep, alluring cleavage. Such a sight vaguely made him feel as if he were witnessing something extraordinarily beautiful.
Yet the pain in Chu Donglin's brow intensified.
He rubbed his aching brow and coldly watched Acha lift Liu Shan Shu's unconscious body without being swayed.
"He is my enemy."
Acha nodded knowingly. "So how did this Mr. Liu Shan Shu offend you? Could it be that you took his daughter and thus turned against him?"
At this possibility, a gloating smile appeared on her face as if she were watching an interesting show.
Chu Donglin shook his head and said, "He framed my parents and family, bringing unimaginable disaster upon my household. Therefore, I cannot coexist with him."
"Oh, so that's how it is. Then how did Mr. Chu offend him? Is that why he was set up by Mr. Liu Shan Shu?"
Chu Donglin coldly stared at her, rubbing his temples. At that moment, not only was his forehead aching, but even his temples were throbbing as if they were beating a drum, causing him immense headache.
"You answered two of my questions, so I should be able to ask you one now, right?"
Acha playfully stuck out her tongue. Although it was a very youthful and cute gesture, it instead exuded an alluring charm, as if she were constantly enticing Chu Donglin.
"Alright, alright. Angry men are really unappealing... If you like it, go ahead and ask. After all, I already promised you."
Chu Donglin continued to look at her coldly and pointed at the unconscious Liu Shan Shu in her hands.
"You can turn humans into these kinds of monsters around here? Then please demonstrate for me; let me witness how it's done."
The woman gasped in surprise, covering her mouth. "Oh? Are you trying to use me to kill someone? You should know that once a human is transformed into a Deep Diver by me, they will gradually lose their sanity and intelligence, eventually becoming just like a real Deep Diver... Are you sure you want me to turn Mr. Liu Shan Shu into a Deep Diver?"
Chu Donglin looked at her coldly. "Can't you do it?"
The woman pouted, looking at him with a pitiful expression.
"So you still don't believe me? Am I really not worthy of your trust?"
Her tearful and pitiful demeanor could soften even the hardest of hearts; however, Chu Donglin merely continued to rub his increasingly painful temples, remaining unmoved.
"If you don't show me how it's done and let me see the truth with my own eyes, how can I believe you?"
"Fine... But remember, this is what you asked me to do."
Acha shrugged off her previous pitiful demeanor, as if deflecting responsibility. "When the time comes, if I really turn him into a Deep Diver, don't blame me..."
Chu Donglin looked at her coldly and nodded.
"Mm."
Yet, deep down, an ominous premonition began to stir within him.
By all logic, no matter how powerful an Ability might be, it shouldn't be able to truly transform a human into a monster.
Although he was unaware of the true identity of the woman before him or the origins of these monsters, Chu Donglin preferred to believe that she was merely a human Survivor who had inadvertently controlled and enslaved a group of bizarre creatures.
After all, since the apocalypse began, countless unimaginable things had become reality in this desolate world.
Even if a group of never-before-seen humanoid monsters appeared now, Chu Donglin wouldn't be overly surprised.
However, when the woman who called herself Acha, an Enchantress, playfully lifted Liushan Shu's body and gently slapped his face with a Fan in her hand, an inexplicable sense of absurd horror welled up within Chu Donglin.
In that moment, he suddenly felt—this woman was not lying.
Amidst her Enchanting Laughter, he could hardly suppress the urge to stop her actions.
Yet reason held back Chu Donglin's impulse, forcing him to watch the woman's performance coldly, waiting for the moment when she would falter and be exposed.
Then, she gently exhaled a plume of black smoke.
The smoke that flowed from her glamorous, moist red lips was pure black and carried an inexplicable aura of evil that made one want to flee far away, filled with an overwhelming sense of oppression.
Under the cold gaze of Chu Donglin, the black smoke enveloped the unconscious Liushan Shu completely, lingering for a long time.
Gurgle—gurgle—gurgle—
Strange sounds emerged from within the smoke.
Amidst the black mist, Chu Donglin could vaguely see Liushan Shu's body slowly twisting, like a piece of clay being manipulated by someone.
A look of absurd astonishment appeared on his face.
He watched the sweetly enchanting smile on the woman who called herself Nyarlathotep, a chill from the depths of his soul enveloping him entirely.
For when the black mist dissipated, what appeared before Chu Donglin had transformed into a twisted and hideous monster.
The creature had a fish head and a human body, grotesque and repulsive, exuding the same fishy odor as its surrounding companions. Its bulging eyes lacked any trace of human rationality, only flickering with an evil light.
As Acha released her hand, the monster's body fell to the floor.
Seemingly unaccustomed to its new form, its movements were awkward, even stumbling twice.
But eventually, it adapted, hoarsely screeching as it merged into the group of monsters around it, no longer casting a glance at Chu Donglin. (To be continued...)
