A massive ice sphere, hundreds of meters in diameter, was frozen onto the body of the Landwalker, adding immense weight to its already colossal form. As the Landwalker sank under this burden, it nearly toppled over.
Yet, it ultimately managed to stay upright, roaring in fury as it followed the chilling air currents that led to the source of its predicament.
"Roar!!!"
Amidst its furious growls, the Landwalker swiped its dark, enormous claws at the suspended ice bridge.
However, the woman standing at the bridge's edge did not flinch or evade; instead, she leaped off the bridge, not only avoiding the attack but also lunging toward it.
Sizzle—
In the terrifyingly low temperatures that threatened to freeze the very air, Liu Mengying's hand glimmered with a cold, piercing white light.
She pressed that white light heavily against the massive ice sphere attached to the Landwalker's body.
Sizzle—sizzle—
With a sharp crackling sound, countless shards of ice rapidly spread across the Landwalker's form, instantly encasing it in a gigantic ice sculpture.
This terrifying ice sculpture towered hundreds of meters high, resembling a great mountain from a distance.
In the next moment, sounds of cracking echoed from within the ice sculpture.
The sheer power of one person was insufficient to fully freeze such an incomprehensibly monstrous creature.
As the Landwalker broke free from its icy prison with a roar, it charged at Liu Mengying in retaliation.
Easily evaded.
A blinding red light illuminated the sky, momentarily brightening the dim atmosphere.
As that intense red light struck the ground, a towering building dozens of stories high was instantly vaporized, leaving only a few twisted, mud-like rebar remnants slumped on the earth, as if seared by extreme heat.
Liu Mengying swung her right hand. A cold white light rapidly spread across the sky.
At the moment when Landwalker unleashed its roaring attack, a massive ice wall suddenly rose beneath the void.
The imposing ice wall stood like an insurmountable barrier, blocking Landwalker's advance.
Dragging its enormous icy sphere behind it, Landwalker's movement was somewhat sluggish.
When it collided with this ice wall, its massive body surprisingly could not shatter the colossal barrier.
Crack—crack—crack—
Amidst the piercing sound of fractures, visible cracks began to spread within the ice wall, resembling an egg shell on the verge of breaking.
Just a slight touch, and this immense ice wall was already struggling to withstand Landwalker's terrifying force.

An angry roar erupted from Landwalker, whose path had been obstructed.

Wherever the red light passed, even the air was distorted by the intense heat. The place where it landed left behind a gigantic crater, with countless soil and rocks scorched into molten magma, bubbling within the depths of the pit.
The enormous ice wall was left with a gaping hole. The high temperature evaporated countless water vapor, shrouding everything nearby in a hazy mist.
In the next moment, a violent crashing sound echoed through the mist.
The human soldiers atop the tall wall were astonished to find that as the mist dissipated, the once precarious ice wall had restored itself, keeping the terrifying Landwalker at bay.
This series of battles had significantly slowed the advance of the Landwalker.
When Liu Mengying turned back, she realized that the migration of the Survivors behind her was nearing its end.
Thus, she did not linger any longer and floated directly toward the towering walls of the base, leaving the roaring monster behind.
Boom—
The blinding red light illuminated the sky, instantly evaporating the massive ice wall that stood in its path.
However, when this monster roared and attempted to continue its attack on Liu Mengying, it found itself unable to sense its enemy's presence.
The Landwalker's perception range extended only three thousand meters.

"Please, let me go... I don't want to die! I really don't want to die!"
Amidst the piercing cries, a man named Zhao Chen writhed in agony on the ground, blood gushing from his wounds with every movement.
In front of him, Chu Donglin smirked, gripping Zhao Chen's head and lifting the frail human off the ground.
"Human?"
He looked at the man before him, whose face was smeared with tears and snot, tilting his head slightly.
After a moment of thought, he asked again, "Zombie?"
Chu Donglin's inquiry caused Zhao Chen to shudder, a look of hope lighting up his face as he thought Chu Donglin might spare him.
"Yes, yes, yes! I am human! We are all human! Big brother, please, for the sake of humanity, let me go this time!"
Seeing the man nodding vigorously, Chu Donglin tossed him aside, sending him crashing to the ground.
"You are human?"
Zhao Chen nodded repeatedly, glancing fearfully at the towering White Wolf behind Chu Donglin. Tears and snot streamed down his face as he stammered, "Yes, yes, I am human!"
"Then why do you eat people?"
Chu Donglin pointed with his right hand towards the pile of human bones that had been gnawed clean in the room. In the dark corner, two unfinished human legs lay hidden, attracting a swarm of flies.
What appeared before Chu Donglin was a horrifying lair of a cannibal, as if it had emerged from a terrifying story.
The four Survivors who had originally hidden here had all been taken down and killed by this man named Zhao Chen using unknown means, and then gradually consumed. Only two legs, belonging to an unknown victim, remained uneaten.
In the dimly lit room, the bloodstains on the floor had long since dried, leaving behind repulsive dark red marks that emitted a nauseating stench.
This was behind the gymnasium of a university in Wocheng.
The four Survivors hiding here had struggled through the initial chaos, and after consuming all the food they could find, the hungry cannibal finally revealed his true nature, reaching out to his three remaining companions.
"Are you even human? I've never heard of a human who eats others; how can I believe you?"
Chu Donglin coldly regarded the panicked Zhao Chen, then took one last look at the messy room before turning to leave.
"Baymax, he's yours now."
With that, he took the girl Xue and left, ignoring the chilling sounds of chewing coming from behind him in the room.
Three minutes later, White Wolf emerged from the room with traces of crimson blood on its mouth, approaching Chu Donglin and Xue with a docile demeanor, lowering its body.
"Let's move to the next target."
Chu Donglin and Xue jumped onto the back of the White Wolf, riding this massive creature that resembled a fantastical monster as it continued to gallop through the university.
Now, it had been three weeks since Chu Donglin and Liu Xiner had parted ways.
According to human time, it was now mid-November of 2005, and deep autumn had settled in.
On both sides of the university's wide roads, countless red and yellow maple leaves had fallen from the Maple Trees, marking the season.
The White Wolf, strolling through the campus, appeared as a colossal beast that seemed to have stepped out of a fantasy world, exuding an unreal feeling as it traversed the pathways.
The chill of Wocheng had begun to set in.
Although Wocheng's winters were not particularly cold due to its geographical location, for Chu Donglin, this was not a good sign.
In his hometown of Wangcheng, the winters in that remote mountainous area were often exceptionally harsh. Even before the apocalypse, when electricity and other facilities were fully operational, winters in Wangcheng were notoriously difficult to endure.
Now that the apocalypse had arrived, with all human infrastructure destroyed, roads abandoned, and power crippled, this first winter in the post-apocalyptic world would be even harder to survive.
Having grown up in Wangcheng, Chu Donglin understood well the lethal severity of winter in that remote city. In this current apocalyptic scenario, he feared that the survivors would face even more casualties among the innocent during this winter.
Although Chu Father and Mother Chu were currently living within a Survivor Base established by the military and were temporarily free from the threat of Zombies, they remained vulnerable as mere civilians in this harsh world. Even if the military provided heating supplies eventually, without connections or resources, their future looked bleak.
Understanding this made Chu Donglin's heart grow increasingly anxious.
He needed to hunt enough Zombies before winter arrived, allowing himself to evolve to the Third Stage.
The power of the Third Stage would give him a crushing advantage over Second Stage Zombies.
Once Chu Donglin evolved to the Third Stage, he could use this advantage to elevate the snow and the White Wolf around him to the Third Stage as well. Only then could he consider going back to confront that Fourth Tier Tyrant.
From Chu Donglin's observations and his encounters with the Tyrant, it was clear that no matter how many Second Stage Zombies there were, it would be difficult for them to bypass the Tyrant and steal those two peaches.
The success rate of this operation would only increase if there were three or more Third Stage Zombies involved.
If he could get his hands on those two peaches, Chu Donglin estimated that he could at least evolve to Fourth Tier... or even higher.
By that time, he would truly possess the power to roam freely in this apocalyptic world.
After all, while most Zombies were still stuck between the Third Stage and Second Stage, Chu Donglin, with Fourth Tier or even Fifth Stage power, would become a terrifying presence that no one dared to provoke in this apocalypse.
Even now, with only Second Stage power, Chu Donglin was already formidable. He believed that when he evolved to Fourth Tier or Fifth Stage, his abilities would become even stronger.
