The Li River Bridge stretches five kilometers, serving as a transportation hub connecting the eastern and western districts of Wocheng. It is divided into two levels. 0

The upper level is designated for motor vehicles, featuring four lanes and prohibiting pedestrian access. 0

The lower level accommodates non-motorized vehicles and pedestrians, allowing bicycles and electric scooters to cross the bridge. 0

If pedestrians wish to cross, they must use the lower level. 0

This area belongs to the City Center District, and the Li River Bridge is a vital thoroughfare linking the two central districts, making it a busy route on ordinary days. 0

When the apocalypse struck, a sudden outbreak of a biological crisis transformed countless humans into terrifying Zombies, leading to disastrous consequences for the speeding vehicles. 0

Car accidents marked the onset of the crisis. 0

Countless out-of-control cars crashed recklessly on the bridge, with most plowing through the protective barriers and plunging into the raging waters below, disappearing completely. 0

A few vehicles that did not break through the bridge's guardrails collided with others, triggering even more severe Secondary Accidents. 0

Explosions, car crashes, Zombies—when the Apocalyptic Crisis erupted, humanity on this vast bridge faced the worst fate. 0

After the crisis broke out, no human managed to leave the bridge alive; all lost their lives on this enormous structure. 0

Some became Zombies, while others perished in car accidents. 0

A few fortunate survivors evaded both crises; however, the mutated Zombies on the bridge became an insurmountable barrier for them. 0

With bloodthirsty Zombies ahead and behind, exploding cars surrounding them, and turbulent waters below… it was truly a dead end with no escape. 0

Now, nearly three months into the apocalypse, not a single living person can be seen on the once-bustling Li River Bridge. 0

As far as the eye could see, countless twisted and mangled cars were haphazardly strewn across the bridge. 0

The metal guardrails at the edge of the bridge were bent and crooked, with gaps visible where some vehicles had been flung over the barriers. 0

After several heavy rains, the dark red stains of dried blood had been washed away from the pavement. 0

However, the metal fragments that had splattered from the vehicles during the accidents were not something that rain could cleanse. 0

Some dazed Zombies wandered aimlessly on the bridge, but their paths were blocked by the tangled wreckage of cars, leaving them to shuffle around in a confined space. 0

They stumbled forward, colliding with obstructing vehicles, only to change direction and walk into another car, then shift again, continuing this erratic movement. 0

Like headless flies trapped in a narrow space, they repeated this action dozens of times. 0

A few unfortunate Zombies had not managed to escape their vehicles after the crash and were instead trapped inside. 0

Not far from Chu Donglin, there was one such unfortunate soul. 0

The car it occupied had shattered windows, with shards of glass scattered everywhere. 0

Twisted metal protruded from within, piercing its body and pinning it inside the vehicle, rendering it immobile. 0

The Zombie's strong life force kept it alive, but its chest, both thighs, and one arm were impaled by metal. Only its right arm could barely move, unable to free itself. 0

If it weren't for the power absorbed from moonlight every night, this unfortunate Zombie would have starved to death inside the car long ago, even if it hadn't been killed in the crash. 0

And on this desolate bridge, a tall White Wolf stood coldly ahead, blocking Chu Donglin's path forward. 0

Its size was not particularly large—at least compared to the massive magical beast from yesterday that was as big as a bus. The White Wolf, while large, still fell within the realm of human acceptance. 0

Its size was roughly equivalent to that of a family sedan, and its snow-white, gleaming fur shimmered with a beautiful silver sheen under the sunlight, radiating brilliance. 0

The Streamlined Body was filled with aesthetic appeal; its clean and tidy appearance formed a stark contrast against the backdrop of the shattered post-apocalyptic ruins, exuding a strange beauty and an imposing presence. 0

At that moment, it leaped out, standing atop an incapacitated bus, coldly gazing down at Chu Donglin at the entrance of the bridge. 0

In its Blood-red Eyes, hatred flickered with a Bloodthirsty intensity. 0

As the car it had swatted away hurtled toward Chu Donglin, an invisible force suddenly manifested. Without even raising a hand, Chu Donglin sent the car flying to the side, where it crashed heavily onto the roadside. 0

Amidst the piercing sound of impact, the White Wolf, which had been diving down, abruptly halted. Its Blood-red Eyes narrowed dangerously. 0

It began to scrutinize Chu Donglin up and down; this strange power of Mental Power gave it a sense of threat. 0

At the entrance of the bridge, standing in the middle of the road, Liu Xiner was startled by the sudden appearance of the enormous White Wolf. 0

When those Dark Red Bloodthirsty eyes swept over her, chills ran down her spine. She felt cold all over and instinctively shrank back behind Chu Donglin. 0

"Brother-in-law, is this fellow... related to that wolf from yesterday? They look so similar..." 0

"It's not 'they'; it's 'it'..." 0

Looking at the imposing White Wolf before him, Chu Donglin let his hands fall to his sides as his mental power spread outward. "This fellow is the same White Wolf I drove away yesterday." 0

"Huh? The one from yesterday?" 0

Liu Xiner was momentarily stunned, her face filled with surprise. 0

She couldn't help but peek out from behind Chu Donglin, cautiously glancing at the White Wolf ahead before quickly retreating back. 0

"Wait a minute..." 0

She recalled the fantastical, monstrous form of the White Wolf from yesterday and compared it to the one in front of her, which had shrunk to less than half its size. Confused, she murmured, "How could it change so much in such a short time?" 0

"That's just how it is," Chu Donglin sighed as he drew a sharp Machete from his back. "In the world of Second-Stage Zombies, common sense doesn't apply anymore. Many incredible things that you can't even imagine are perfectly normal here." 0

"This White Wolf should be able to change its size at will, and different forms likely have different characteristics. This form of the White Wolf is much weaker than yesterday's, but its speed has significantly increased... It seems it learned from yesterday's encounter and switched to a different form to deal with me." 0

Upon hearing this, Liu Xiner looked worried. "Can we still defeat it? Should we run away first? It might not be able to catch us." 0

"Hah... there's no need for that. The last thing I'm afraid of is agile Zombies... In fact, as long as they are on the same level as me, I can easily crush most Zombies except for those that are strength-based, which give me a bit of trouble. This fellow couldn't even match my strength before; now it thinks it can use agility against me? That's just ridiculous." 0

Chu Donglin shook his head, dismissing the girl's suggestion. "Xing'er, step back a bit and make sure you don't get caught up in the fight. I'll try to keep the battle contained so it won't get close to you." 0

"Okay, okay! Good luck, brother-in-law!" 0

The girl quickly complied and moved aside, ensuring her presence wouldn't interfere with Chu Donglin. 0
