On the street behind the district, as Snow lured the Tyrant away, the ground began to tremble with the first shudder of Madness. Without hesitation, Chu Donglin soared into the air. 0

He effortlessly vaulted over a two-meter-high wall, executing a neat aerial roll. When Chu Donglin landed back on the ground, he had already entered the interior of the district. 0

A few hundred meters ahead, behind several withered trees and a few barren flowerbeds, stood the Corpse Mountain, formed from piles of human flesh and blood. Atop this Corpse Mountain grew a bizarre peach tree over a meter tall, its countless roots burrowing into the corpses below, absorbing their blood and flesh essence. 0

In the distance, a thunderous sound echoed; the Tyrant Zombie had been drawn away by Snow and disappeared from this street. 0

Seizing the opportunity, Chu Donglin sprinted toward the peach tree with all his might. 0

He covered the distance of several hundred meters in just ten seconds, charging straight up to the eerie peach tree. 0

Although this peculiar peach tree grew atop Corpse Mountain, it constantly absorbed the blood and flesh from those corpses. The bodies at its base had been drained to a thin layer of dried skin, and even those on the surface of Corpse Mountain were shriveled. Thus, while there were many corpses on Corpse Mountain, their height was minimal. 0

Chu Donglin leaped up in one bound, his eyes fixed intently on the two unripe peaches. His heart raced in his chest. 0

Now that he was close enough to smell the incredibly sweet fragrance in the air, he could hardly resist the urge to pounce on those peaches and take a bite. 0

But he knew he couldn't do that; the Tyrant guarding this place could return at any moment. Chu Donglin couldn't afford to linger here for even a second longer. 0

Every second spent here increased his danger. 0

Without hesitation, he reached out and grasped one of the peaches, planning to pick one before taking the other. 0

With Chu Donglin's immense strength, he could easily snap a steel pipe; picking fruit should be no challenge at all. 0

He wrapped his arms around one of the peaches and pulled hard. 0

"Ahhh!!!" 0

A piercing scream suddenly erupted from beneath Chu Donglin's feet. To his shock, despite his confident tug, he failed to pluck that peach! 0

Chu Donglin's body jolted as he had no time to ponder why the tendrils connecting to this peach were so resilient when suddenly, Corpse Mountain beneath him began to tremble violently. 0

At the base of the howling Corpse Mountain, several Dark Red Tentacles suddenly shot out, wrapping tightly around Chu Donglin's body. Simultaneously, a chilling scream echoed from the depths of Corpse Mountain, as if Chu Donglin's earlier action of tugging at the peach had inflicted great pain on whatever lurked below. 0

The terrifying aura that had been receding in the air abruptly converged back towards them. The Madness that had been chasing after the fleeing snow also turned around, clearly indicating that the Tyrant had realized its lair was under attack. 0

“Roar!!!” 0

The Tyrant's roar reverberated from across the street, booming like thunder and causing a painful ringing in the ears. 0

In the air, the boiling rage of the Tyrant seemed almost tangible; anyone brave enough to step into it would be terrified to death in an instant. 0

Even someone as resolute as Chu Donglin felt cold sweat breaking out on his forehead. 0

He struggled against the binding Tentacles, but despite being a monster compared to ordinary people, his strength was insignificant in the world of Zombies. 0

No matter how much he thrashed, he could not break free from the grasp of the Tentacles. Instead, his struggles caused those tentacles to shake violently, dislodging corpses from atop Corpse Mountain and revealing the true form of the peach tree before Chu Donglin. 0

What lay at his feet was a grotesque and twisted body. 0

Its skin had completely peeled away, exposing Dark Red muscle tissue to the air, a sight both shocking and horrifying. Its features were distorted, with bulging Dark Red eyeballs connected to their sockets by two thick Dark Red veins. 0

More than a dozen long Tentacles sprouted from its body, gripping Chu Donglin tightly to prevent his escape. The surface of its body was covered in countless fleshy growths resembling maggots. 0

These fine growths were densely packed across its form, writhing with a life of their own in a maddening display that was utterly repulsive. 0

At its chest and abdomen, a large maw gaped open, with numerous Dark Red roots entangled and connecting to the base of the peach tree—this bizarre peach tree had actually sprouted from its very cavity! 0

While other roots of the peach tree absorbed the blood and flesh of corpses, there was no doubt that this tree's true essence emerged from within this monster's abdomen. Everything about the peach tree was nurtured by this creature's body as its seedbed. 0

At that moment, this monster let out a wretched howl, tightening its grip on Chu Donglin with its Tentacles. It seemed that Chu Donglin's earlier action of pulling at the peach had brought it unbearable torment; those bulging crimson eyes were filled with furious hatred as they fixed on him. 0

Around the corner of the street, the terrifying presence of the Tyrant grew ever closer, and the ground trembled rapidly beneath them. Clearly, that fearsome creature was rushing back. 0

Yet atop Corpse Mountain, Chu Donglin found himself ensnared by this bizarre twisted monster beneath him, unable to move. 0

The boiling, terrifying aura in the air drew closer, and the imminent threat of death loomed large as Chu Donglin let out a frenzied roar. 0

In the next moment, a stone on the lawn suddenly flew up and smashed through a window on the second floor. Amidst the crisp sound of shattering glass, the fragments did not fall; instead, under Chu Donglin's control, they surged forward with tremendous kinetic energy. 0

At that moment, his telekinetic ability was pushed to its limits, even causing a dull pain in the crystalline structure within his mind. 0

However, such an explosive release came with consequences. The shards of glass flew toward him at a terrifying speed far beyond what he had ever achieved before, producing a piercing shriek as they sliced through the air. 0

The sharp edges of the glass collided heavily with the dark red tentacles, tearing apart all the tentacles that had ensnared Chu Donglin and freeing him from their grasp. 0

Though the glass shattered upon tearing through the tentacles, Chu Donglin had already escaped the monster's clutches and was fleeing swiftly. 0

As for the two azure peaches, despite his deep reluctance, he had no choice but to abandon them for now. 0

When he attempted to use the sharp glass shards to sever the blood vessels connecting to the peaches, he found that not only could he not cut through those seemingly fragile vessels, but he also left no mark; the shards simply exploded upon impact. 0

Perhaps those blood vessels were not indestructible, but at that moment, there was no time for Chu Donglin to carefully figure out how to sever them. 0

The terrifying threat of the Tyrant was imminent. Without hesitation, Chu Donglin abandoned the peaches and turned to flee in panic. 0
