The street stretched for hundreds of meters, quickly passed by at the speed of the motorcycle.
Ahead lay the entrance to their destination... or perhaps to hell itself.
Chu Donglin took a deep breath, not accelerating but maintaining his original speed as they approached.
As they turned the corner and the target came into view, both riders froze.
A monster.
A true monster.
Like something out of a myth, the Horrific Monster squatted on the wall of a gate in a certain area, surveying its surroundings with a Bloodthirsty and violent gaze.
Its pitch-black body was covered in bright red, knotted muscles, as if its skin had been completely eroded, exposing the internal tissues to the sunlight. Standing three meters tall, it resembled a mountain from afar, exuding an overwhelming sense of terror. Even the wall beneath it was cracked under the weight of its massive form.
Sharp bone spines sprouted from its tailbone, extending along its back in a full row. A horrifying whip-like tail emerged behind it, with a bony tip glinting coldly.
Its hands had vanished, replaced by a grotesque mass of Tentacles that twisted together like tree roots. The limbs formed from these Tentacles were incredibly thick, with many disgusting Tentacles writhing at the ends, seemingly searching for the scent of food.
At its feet lay countless mutilated corpses, almost all of them Mutated Zombies. Severed Arms scattered about, mixed with pools of blood, creating a scene reminiscent of a mass grave that emanated a horrific stench.
Swarms of flies buzzed in the air; these flying insects might be the only life brave enough to make noise on this entire street.
Aside from them, both Zombies and humans kept their distance from this place, too terrified to approach.
The moment the motorcycle appeared, the terrifying monster coldly glanced over, its bloodthirsty and violent gaze filled with a chilling murderous intent.
A horrifying aura rushed toward Chu Donglin, making him feel as if his very soul had frozen.
Without hesitation, he abruptly turned the bike around, the motorcycle roaring as it sped away at full throttle.
The wind from the hundred-mile-per-hour speed whipped through Chu Donglin's hair and scarf. After he had dashed several hundred meters, a thunderous boom echoed behind him, shaking the ground for an instant.
As Chu Donglin turned back, he saw the monstrous Tyrant standing at the intersection. The ground where he had previously parked was completely crushed by the descending Tyrant, with countless pieces of concrete shattered and rebar twisted and protruding.
Madness engulfed the creature as it opened its massive jaws and let out a terrifying roar.
The piercing sound waves even caused the air to ripple visibly. Chu Donglin's body stiffened, his momentum momentarily stolen, but he still pressed on against that overwhelming pressure, riding his bike at full speed.
Behind him, the earth trembled with madness; clearly, that mountain-like Tyrant was in pursuit.
Fortunately, this monster was more of a powerhouse Zombie. Although it was a Fourth Tier Horrific Monster, its speed was only slightly faster than snow, unable to catch up to the speeding motorcycle.
Moreover, given the distance between them, it could only roar in rage while watching this Low-Level Zombie that had dared to offend its authority speed away.
Five minutes later, Chu Donglin's motorcycle came to a stop at the entrance of a shopping mall.
He looked back at the terrifying Tyrant that had not followed him and couldn't help but smile at the secret he had just uncovered.
From that brief moment of observation earlier, he had confirmed one thing: High-Level Zombies could indeed absorb energy from sunlight. That Fourth Tier Horrific Tyrant was absorbing energy from the sun.
The reason the Tyrant drove all Zombies away from its Mental Power's oppressive range was not due to territorial instincts, but rather to protect something.
As he approached that area, he caught a whiff of a peculiar fragrance.
It was a powerful scent that was incredibly tempting for Zombies, more valuable than the Energy Crystals they sought.
Though he couldn't discern the exact form of the object, Chu Donglin believed that whatever could command such respect from a Fourth Tier Tyrant must be an extraordinary treasure.
This was also why this terrifying Zombie expelled all Mutated Zombies—out of fear that those Low-Level Zombies would be lured in to snatch that object. The pile of corpses at its feet was the most direct evidence of this.
Perhaps its strength allowed it to slaughter any approaching Mutated Zombies, but being constantly disturbed by other Zombies must have been tiresome. Thus, it simply used its Mental Power to drive all the Mutated Zombies away.
Such a large-scale migration of Mutated Zombies would undoubtedly have a significant impact on human Survivors' camps. Most human Survivor camps lacked the capability to confront Second-Stage Zombies.
Once a direct conflict arose, it would almost certainly result in a one-sided massacre.
Therefore, the riot and flight of the Mutated Zombies startled the human Survivors. Those who had managed to establish themselves in the city were forced to risk migration to escape the shadow of the Zombies, fleeing to even more distant places.
Moreover, the Tyrant's mental oppression affected humans similarly; very few could live comfortably under its looming threat.
At that moment, in the district where the Tyrant resided, aside from wandering Ordinary Zombies, no Mutated Zombies or humans dared to remain.
After escaping that district, Chu Donglin wasted no time and took Xue into a nearby mall, where he found a telescope. Aware of how terrifying Fourth-Stage Zombies could be, he planned to observe for any opportunity to strike.
From their previous brief encounter, it seemed that while the Mutated Zombie was powerful and fearsome, it wasn't particularly fast. Chu Donglin was confident that with proper planning, he could successfully lead Xue to distract the Tyrant, allowing him to sneak in and steal whatever it was guarding.
Before that, he needed to thoroughly investigate the situation in the area where the Tyrant was located. Even if he could divert the Tyrant's attention, that distraction would not last long. If he didn't understand the internal conditions beforehand, he would be completely blind when he entered.
Fortunately, there was a tall building across from the residential area. Standing on the rooftop with a telescope would allow him to easily observe everything happening in the area.
Without wasting any time, Chu Donglin found the desired telescope and returned to the district where the Tyrant resided, accompanied by Snow.
The oppressive atmosphere remained terrifying and heavy; it felt as if the air was thick with the violent and intimidating aura of the Fourth-Stage Tyrant. Chu Donglin estimated that not many zombies or humans could live peacefully under such overwhelming pressure.
However, after experiencing their previous escape, both Snow and Chu Donglin had adapted significantly to the pervasive mental pressure in this area during their second entry. They no longer felt as immobilized as they had during their first visit.
Especially for Chu Donglin, once he confirmed the weaknesses of that Mutated Zombie's abilities, he felt much more at ease.
Although this type of strength-based zombie was powerful, as long as he didn't engage in close combat with it, it posed little threat to him.
After all, strength-based zombies relied on their formidable defense and power. Given the size of this Fourth-Stage Tyrant, Chu Donglin suspected it could crush a building with a single punch.
Even its seemingly unprotected body was likely so tough that bullets wouldn't penetrate it; only heavy weaponry like rockets might have a chance of breaking through its defenses.
After all, even Second-Stage Strength-Type Zombies could withstand Chu Donglin's handgun fire without flinching. There was no reason to believe that a more powerful Fourth-Stage Zombie couldn't do the same. However, no matter how strong it was, a Strength-Type Zombie remained a Strength-Type Zombie; when it came to speed, it posed almost no threat to Chu Donglin—a fact that could not be changed.
