"Hahahahaha!"
Ghost Granny burst into laughter, seemingly delighted to see Voldemort approaching the opposing side of Intercepting Daoist. She threw her head back, her gray-white hair dancing wildly, but as she laughed, blood began to flow from her mouth, nose, and eyes.
Crimson blood streaked down her cheeks, finally dripping from her chin in a heart-wrenching display.
"This life has finally come to an end."
Once her laughter subsided, a deep sorrow washed over Ghost Granny's face, an insurmountable kind. She glanced around at her surroundings and sighed wistfully, "Enough, enough! No more futile struggles. Life and death are fated; a lifetime of cultivation ultimately cannot overcome the word 'destiny'!"
At that moment, a torrent of fresh blood suddenly surged from Ghost Granny's mouth. She turned to look at me and shouted hoarsely, "Child, this old woman warns you one last time—never walk the same path I did!"
With that, the fragment of the Three Lives Stone hovering above Ghost Granny shattered with a loud crack, just like her flickering life in the wind, coming to an abrupt end.
Ghost Granny stumbled and fell to the ground. There was nothing more—no final words—only a grim smile as she hummed a sorrowful tune of Qin opera, slowly closing her eyes.
What was she trying to tell me?
Yet, this Killing Intent was not Zhengyang's; it was not inherited but rather something obtained from elsewhere by our ancestors!
And why could my past life's Killing Intent reincarnate while my father and grandfather went to that unknown place?
A series of questions lingered in my mind. Unfortunately, with Ghost Granny gone, no one could provide me with any answers!
As I looked at Ghost Granny's hunched figure lying on the vast earth, a wave of sorrow surged within me.
With her departure, was it truly the end for their generation?
My grandfather, Ghost Granny, once dominated the scene and shone brightly in an era, but now, he cannot escape the curtain call.
Heroes fade, dynasties change, and before time, everything is vulnerable!
I sighed lightly and turned my gaze back to the battlefield.
Voldemort had turned against his allies, and with Zhengyang's presence, the Corpse Spirit was being absolutely suppressed!
Zhengyang posed little threat to her; after all, Zhengyang was merely a disciple. Even though he had mastered the Taoist Sect's spiritual treasures, he still fell short in Daoist practice compared to her, a Corpse Spirit comparable to a master.
The true force suppressing the Corpse Spirit was Voldemort!
With the return of his battle spirit, Voldemort was even more terrifying than before. He unleashed a dreadful Energy Storm with a flick of his fingers, unafraid of engaging the Corpse Spirit in close combat. With Zhengyang backing him up, the Corpse Spirit was left in a very precarious situation, constantly retreating.
This was the best opportunity to eliminate her!
I instinctively tightened my grip on the Hundred Slicing Blade. The Corpse Spirit could barely hold on now; if I joined in, she would struggle even more and would likely be defeated swiftly!
Since I couldn't bring you back to your senses, then I'll leave you here!
After all, I couldn't just watch my friend walk down a path of no return and become a sinner. I exhaled deeply, releasing the turmoil within my chest, and stepped toward the Corpse Spirit!
As I took that step, the winds and clouds shifted dramatically!
It wasn't my doing; this Underground Palace suddenly trembled without warning.
Thunder rumbled ominously.
A terrifying sound, reminiscent of muffled thunder, reverberated all around, and the ground beneath my feet began to crack inch by inch. The energy shield supported by the Heart of Atlantis was slowly collapsing, and the earth that had been sealing it began to fall away.
This massive change could not possibly have been caused by me; I lacked such power. With my current strength, even if my Killing Intent surged exponentially, I would still be unable to contend with the energy shield upheld by the Heart of Atlantis, let alone cause the collapse of this Underground Palace!
What was even more terrifying lay ahead!
No sooner had the upheaval in the Underground Palace begun than a deafening explosion echoed. Without warning, a hole erupted in the ceiling of the Underground Palace. To be precise, it could no longer be called a mere hole; it was a gaping chasm. It wasn’t blown open but rather punctured, and then a gigantic finger pierced through from above!
Why a gigantic finger?
Because this finger was as thick as the main pillars in the Forbidden City. It broke through the earth above the Underground Palace and shattered the energy shield supported by the Heart of Atlantis, coming straight down towards Voldemort!
Voldemort attempted to flee, but his speed could not match that of the suddenly descending finger, which pressed him firmly into the ground.
Boom!
In that instant, it felt as if an earthquake had struck. The ground collapsed even more violently, and over half of the energy shield upheld by the Heart of Atlantis disintegrated!
Once Voldemort was pinned to the ground by that finger, he became completely immobilized, as if he had been crushed under a single digit.
Nearby, Zhengyang and Corpse Spirit were also caught in the chaos. Although they weren’t directly pressed into the ground, the shockwave generated by that enormous finger crashing down sent them flying. Zhengyang spewed a mouthful of blood mid-air before crashing down and failing to rise again; he was clearly gravely injured. Corpse Spirit fared little better, being hurled dozens of meters away by the force of the blast, landing in a very sorry state!
I was utterly stunned by this scene!
What on earth was happening?
Just as I was about to team up with Voldemort to deal with the Corpse Spirit, suddenly a finger descended from above, piercing through the ground and directly nailing down to the Underground Palace. It even broke through the energy shield upheld by the Heart of Atlantis, ultimately stabbing Voldemort dead as if he were an ant, and sending an entire squad, along with a Corpse Spirit, flying.
What on earth is happening? Could it be that a god has intervened?
After toppling Voldemort, that finger lifted and vanished.
Silence enveloped the surroundings as I remained immersed in shock, unable to pull myself away.
"Master, Master?"
Suddenly, a soft call from not far away pulled me back from my stupor. I turned to see the Corpse Spirit gazing at the dark hole left by that finger with admiration. Then, as if realizing something, her expression changed drastically. She turned to me and shouted, "Brother, we need to leave quickly! The Master is coming! If we don't go now, we won't be able to escape!"
The Master?
Could it be the Intercepting Daoist?
I scanned my surroundings.
Zhengyang lay motionless on the ground, Ghost Granny had perished in battle, Big Mouth Lee was half-dead and could only lie there, while Bald Qiang and the others were all unconscious!
Leave? Is that even possible?
This must be one of the most devastating encounters yet. All Four Doors of Tomb Raiding were deployed, and more than half had died. With Ghost Granny also fallen in battle and so many powerful allies lost, even if I wanted to escape now, I was powerless to do so. I couldn't carry so many people with me!
Was I supposed to save myself?
The power of the Intercepting Daoist was nearly divine; I stood no chance against him. A hundred of me would not be enough to face him. Once he arrived, I would be like a dog before a leopard—forced to lie on the ground as mere fodder. There would be no choice but to surrender.
However, before the Intercepting Daoist arrived, I still had a choice! Even if I had to die, I would take someone down with me!
Without further ado, I drew my long knife and charged straight at the Doron!
"You can't do that!"
The Corpse Spirit seemed to have guessed my intentions and hurriedly shouted, "The Doron is of great use to the master; it cannot be killed. If you strike now, it will be a true point of no return!"
Point of no return?
The Corpse Spirit was shouting, but my steps did not falter for a moment as I rushed through the ruins of the Underground Palace, heading straight for Doron.
The Doron had already been thoroughly defeated by me earlier and was in no condition to resist. Upon seeing me approach, it nearly frightened itself to death, letting out a startled cry before turning to run away!
Unfortunately, with the Crimson Killing Intent fueling me, no matter how skilled it was at running, it could not outrun me. In just a few breaths, I caught up to it. Without hesitation, I thrust my Azure Dark Sword forward and let out an uncontrollable roar from my throat: "Here’s your debt!"
As the words left my mouth, the blade pierced through its body, and tears welled up in my eyes.
