Boom!
The stone door was pushed with all of Bald Qiang's strength, but it remained tightly shut.
"I'm done for, I'm done for! This time, I'm really finished!"
As soon as the door closed, Bald Qiang turned around, trembling and muttering "I'm done for" over and over again, as if he had lost his mind. In the faint light from the flashlight propped up by Big Mouth Lee, I could see that Bald Qiang's chubby face had turned pale, and even the flesh on his cheeks was quivering slightly.
What on earth is outside? What could scare Bald Qiang into such a state?
I was closest to him and my curiosity was piqued. I quickly grabbed Bald Qiang and asked, "What happened? Be specific!"
"O-outside, m-m-much m-m-much..."
Bald Qiang's jaw was trembling so much that he couldn't get a coherent sentence out. It was infuriating!
I had no idea what was going on, but despite Bald Qiang's usual bravado, he turned into a coward at critical moments!
"Look at you!"
Ghost Granny shot a glare at Bald Qiang, irritated. "If you can't handle it, go sit in a corner!"
In the midst of her words, Ghost Granny pointed at me. "You, go check out what's happening outside!"
I had already intended to do that!
Seeing Bald Qiang like this, I figured he was genuinely in shock and wouldn't be able to provide any useful information anytime soon. It would be better for me to take a look myself. So I pushed Bald Qiang aside and took a couple of steps forward. I placed my hands against the moss-covered stone door and rubbed it back and forth to wipe away some of the slippery moss. Once I felt that the friction between my hands and the door had increased slightly, I began to push with all my strength!
Suddenly, Bald Qiang grabbed me.
"Don't open the door!"
Seeing that I was about to open it, Bald Qiang became anxious, his words flowing more smoothly now. "The Rakshasa is outside, and there are many Yin Soldiers too, armed with long guns and cannons. It's a serious situation!"
Though Bald Qiang spoke urgently, it was too late. I exerted force with my hand and pushed the stone door open just a crack.
Rakshasa?
After hearing Bald Qiang's words, I instinctively froze for a moment.
However, I knew this wasn't the time to act recklessly. If I rushed out without thinking, my own life or death didn't matter; after all, I was just a worthless existence, barely hanging on to life for the sake of revenge. But it would put Bald Qiang and the others in danger, dragging everyone down with me.
Hurricane Pass, where the grass remains and night approaches bright, its darkness is particularly fierce!
I kept repeating these sixteen characters in my mind, taking several deep breaths to finally suppress the anger within me. Ignoring Bald Qiang's attempts to pull me back, I found myself inexplicably leaning my head closer to the door crack.
Outside was an Underground Palace, enveloped by a thin light shield supported by the Heart of Atlantis, holding back the earth above to prevent collapse. Thanks to the milky white glow emitted by the shield, I could see that outside was an open space resembling a garden. I was currently positioned at a rockery on the southeast side of this garden!
When the workers built this Underground Palace and fled, they had actually dug the secret passage from beneath the rockery in the back garden of the Forbidden Palace. It was truly a remarkably concealed method!
This must be the most magnificent Underground Palace I had ever seen; it was essentially a miniature version of the Royal Palace of Atlantis within Poseidonian Ruins. Even just this back garden was constructed with great style—the Garden of Elegant Pavilions and Palaces—perfectly matching its name. The architectural style bore some resemblance to Gothic Architecture, belonging to Western classical architecture—luxurious and exquisite.
The most magnificent Underground Palace in our country should be Qin Shi Huang's Tomb. Just the scale of its suspected burial mound meets the standards of an ordinary emperor's mausoleum. The real Qin Shi Huang's Tomb features real-life terracotta warriors cast from bronze and a mercury river forming protective barriers—comparable in luxury to the Epang Palace.
Although I had never seen Qin Shi Huang's Tomb—indeed, no one has seen it to date—I imagined that perhaps its specifications were akin to this Underground Palace before me; it had nearly reached perfection!
However, the Eerie Energy here feels a bit too heavy.
In fact, it should be described as very heavy!
The ground is shrouded in wisps of White Mist, which is actually Shadow Mist, resembling the vapor that rises from a bottle of aged wine just opened.
It is precisely because of the heavy Eerie Energy that this place appears somewhat gloomy.
Moreover, the most important thing is the Killing Intent here!
Indeed, it is Killing Intent. If I were to use a more refined term to describe it, I would say it is a chilling atmosphere!
Because in this back garden, there are Yin Soldiers everywhere!
A squadron after another, clad in thick Steel Armor, patrolling the garden with uniquely designed firearms known as Taxi soldiers.
To be precise, these should be Yin Soldiers.
Their faces exhibit a sickly pallor, devoid of color, with hollow eyes staring blankly ahead. This appearance clearly indicates that they are mindless beings, not living creatures!
In the midst of the dense Yin Soldiers, there stands an enormous hall that seems to be brewing something unknown. From a distance, one can sense an intense Energy Fluctuation, so powerful that it instinctively evokes a feeling of danger, as if it could destroy everything!
However, all of this has nothing to do with me.
Inside the hall, the Rakshasa demon has a black cloth covering his right eye.
That eye is the one I blinded.
That strike was the most difficult one I had ever made in my life. I was someone who never minded hurting others; I would rather mistakenly kill Three Thousand than wield that blade.
He took away my teammate, the one who had saved my life!
I gritted my teeth, my hands on the Hundred Slicing Blade tightening and loosening, struggling to suppress the urge to draw it!
"Zi, come back!"
At that moment, Ghost Granny's low roar echoed in my ears. Suddenly, I felt a powerful force tugging at my collar, pulling me backward. Caught off guard, I fell onto the ground. The dark passage was exceptionally damp, and the ground was almost entirely mud. As I landed, mud splashed everywhere, and some of it hit my face, cold and clammy.
"Zi, everyone has a difficult life. Don't mistake impulse for courage. True courage is facing a bloody fate and enduring everything with strength."
Ghost Granny shot me a cold glance and said lightly, "You're still too inexperienced. Remember this: the character for 'endure' has a knife above it. If you can't learn to endure, you won't be able to wield this blade. Therefore, you can't kill anyone, nor can you strike at the heart!
The killing sword and the heart-striking blade.
Ah, that character for 'endure'—that is the most powerful weapon!"
After saying this, Ghost Granny suddenly turned to look at Yuan, her gaze becoming complex in that instant.
