The sound of that slap was incredibly loud, akin to the crack of a leather belt being whipped against the ground. It came suddenly and shockingly, leaving me momentarily stunned.
What on earth was happening? How could someone say such things?
At that moment, a dark figure swept past me, moving with astonishing speed across the church. Before the Sima Saintess even touched the ground, this figure had already caught up to her. The punches and kicks rained down like a storm, landing heavily on the Sima Saintess. The force was tremendous; her body was bombarded with blows that scattered Eerie Energy around her. Everything unfolded so quickly that the Sima Saintess didn’t have time to react. The woman’s martial skills were formidable, her attacks relentless and fierce, leaving no opportunity for the Sima Saintess to regain her composure. This was how she managed to overpower her.
As they fell to the ground three or four meters away, the impact produced a thunderous sound that reverberated through the church, creating a deep crater in the floor and cracking the surrounding area. It was evident just how ferocious this series of attacks had been.
But that wasn’t all; the woman showed no signs of mercy. When they landed, the Sima Saintess lay on the ground while she stood triumphantly on the Sima Saintess's chest, not allowing her any chance to recover. Raising her hand, she delivered another sharp slap across the Sima Saintess's face, producing a crisp and resonant sound. "Why are you fixating on someone else? You’re looking for trouble by thinking about my husband!"
"Smack!"
Another slap followed.
"Just because you can speak a few words of Divine Language doesn’t make you special! You think you can go around seducing people without considering your own appearance? Unfortunately for you, it won’t work on me. You’re just showing off in front of Guan Gong; I am a Spirit Ghost, born from enlightenment and mastering Divine Language—I play this game better than you!"
Another slap echoed through the air…
In that moment, the woman was fierce and terrifying as she unleashed a barrage of slaps on the Sima Saintess. The sound of each strike filled the air with sharp cracks, leaving me utterly bewildered!
However, I gleaned some insights from her words.
Divine Language?
Was the word that just stunned me from the Sima Saintess the so-called Divine Language?
This Divine Language was something Zhengyang had mentioned to me before; it is a form of Daoist Practice that highly skilled practitioners use to align with the natural way, gaining insights that ultimately lead to the Dao Sound!
As for what Dao Sound truly is, I honestly don't understand it either. If I had to explain, I would say it is the voice of all things with spirit; everything that possesses life has a sound. The Dao Sound represents the essence of all living things. In short, it is profoundly mysterious. I still haven't fully grasped this enigmatic concept that exists beyond comprehension, but I do know that Dao Sound holds great power and reflects the will of nature in some way.
For instance, the Nine Character Mantra of the Taoist Sect is a type of Dao Sound. "Lin, Bing, Dou, Zhe, Jie, Zhen, Lie, Zai, Qian," these nine characters combined with hand seals and the Spiritual Energy within can unleash unimaginable power. The Nine Character Mantra is indeed powerful; even an ordinary person facing a ghost can shout this mantra and harness the energy of the earth, enhancing their Yang Fire on both shoulders and above their head, making ghosts hesitate to attack!
However, perhaps due to the need for spreading teachings, these Dao Sounds have been labeled as Divine Language and given a divine name—something that the common people are most inclined to believe.
So, could Sima Saintess's so-called Divine Language be another form of Dao Sound?
Yes, it is possible. The Atlantis Civilization once reached great heights and never ceased its research into the universe and nature. It is conceivable that they could comprehend one or two types of Dao Sound!
At this moment, as Sima Saintess was being slapped by that woman, some changes began to occur within her; her Eerie Energy surged violently!
Indeed, it became violent. The Eerie Energy roared with intensity, reaching a ferocious state. Then she raised her head and let out a piercing scream filled with rage!
She was furious.
It’s understandable; who wouldn’t be angry after being slapped repeatedly like that?
Just as Sima Saintess was about to erupt in fury, the woman realized something was wrong and flew back in retreat. In an instant, that mysterious woman vanished from the tomb chamber without a trace! Who was she? I couldn’t see clearly because her face was covered with a fine veil; her long hair and snow-white clothing vaguely resembled Xiao Xiao, but I couldn't be sure!
According to the Encyclopedia of Psychology: "Jealousy is a complex emotional state composed of shame, anger, resentment, etc., arising from comparing oneself with others and finding oneself lacking in talent, reputation, status, or circumstances." Jealousy only destroys lives; anger can sometimes lead to success. However, this kind of anger will only serve to enhance my own life.
At that moment, the Sima Saintess was screaming wildly, her Eerie Energy nearly exploding!
“She’s angry!”
Suddenly, I remembered that if the Sima Saintess was furious, then those hypnotized by her, like Bald Qiang and the others, should be waking up too. I had been so busy that I completely forgot about this. As soon as I recalled it, I quickly glanced over at the group of fat guys and immediately felt relieved!
Bald Qiang, who had been beating Ghost Granny with an iron rod, had already dropped his weapon. Xiao Xiao, who had been tugging at Ghost Granny's hair and poking her eyes and nose, also let go. Big Mouth Lee, who had been fiercely biting Ghost Granny's thigh and had torn her pants to shreds—exposing her red underwear—had finally released his grip as well.
The group that had been attacking Zhengyang had stopped too; they had ripped apart Zhengyang's Daoist Robe and left several bloody scratches on his face, while Furball also ceased its assault.
It seemed that during the hypnosis process, there was a close connection between the subjects and the hypnotist.
