"Let's just go, as for what lies ahead, it's unknown to me!
Once a decision is made, there’s no need to overthink it; life should be lived this way!
The length of this Passageway is astonishing. The murals alone stretch nearly a kilometer. After passing the end of the murals, we continued for over an hour until we felt the air becoming thin. Only then did we finally reach the end. It was clear that we were far from the Underground World; the ventilation was extremely poor, and even breathing became somewhat difficult.
Fortunately, we had reached the end.
However, this end did not lead anywhere. Before us stood a wall—specifically, a pitch-black wall whose material was impossible to discern. It resembled iron yet was not iron, looked like stone yet was not stone. In the damp and poorly ventilated Underground World, this wall had withstood nine thousand years without showing any signs of decay. Scattered across its surface were gems that sparkled brilliantly when illuminated by our flashlight.
"Wow, we've found a treasure!"
Upon seeing the gems on the wall, Big Mouth Lee's eyes lit up immediately. He grinned and pulled a dagger from his boot, rushing forward to pry them loose.
What happened next was astonishing!
As Big Mouth Lee inserted his dagger into the gaps between the gems and pried several times, nothing budged. Frustrated, he widened his eyes in disbelief. Eventually, he grew angry and put all his strength into prying them loose. To his surprise, instead of prying out a gem, he heard a sharp crack as his dagger snapped!
We all stared wide-eyed at this scene, genuinely shocked!
This wall had been here for nine thousand years; surely even the toughest materials on Earth should have decayed by now? Not only could we not pry out the gems, but they had also broken Big Mouth Lee's dagger?
Big Mouth Lee's knife wasn't of exceptional quality, but it was still a Swiss-made blade that had undergone countless cold-pressing processes. Its hardness and resilience far surpassed that of an ordinary kitchen knife. For it to snap like that indicated just how securely those gems were embedded in this seemingly indestructible wall!
"Hey, this is interesting!"
Bald Qiang sneered from the side, rolling up his sleeves and spitting on either side before shouting, "Brother Li, let me give it a try as an expert in dismantling!"
What?! When did Bald Qiang become so humorous? It seemed he had pulled out some kind of high-tech gadget he carried with him... I watched as he took out an object resembling a soldering iron from his backpack. With a gentle press of a button, the soldering iron glowed red hot!
Honestly, it was my first time seeing such a rustic-looking tool; I didn’t think much of it at first. But when he casually picked up a cement nail and melted it instantly with that tool, I was taken aback!"
Bald Qiang was determined. He cranked up the temperature on that device to the maximum. Although it was impressive, it was also incredibly expensive and could only be used once or twice before breaking down.
As a result... the door showed no reaction at all; Ming Gaowen was completely ineffective!
"Damn it! I really don't believe this!"
Bald Qiang's temper flared, and he put away the device in his hand, pulling out a crowbar instead. He began to smash the door with all his might. The sound of repeated "bangs" echoed through the passageway as Bald Qiang poured every ounce of strength he had into it. Sparks flew from the crowbar, and his palms were torn and bleeding. In the end, he bent the crowbar, but the wall remained unyielding.
"That's enough, stop! It's useless!"
At that moment, Zhengyang, who had been silent until now, finally spoke up. He stepped forward and grabbed the fat man's shoulder. Bald Qiang, who had been in a rage, finally calmed down. There was no way forward; Bald Qiang was stubborn and refused to back down from anyone—only Qingyi could rein him in.
"All of you here are worthless!"
Ghost Granny, who had been quiet all along, suddenly spoke up with a sharp voice. She mocked, "What kind of eyes do you all have? You really don't know your place! Just because you see something doesn't mean you can break it with brute force—it's simply a dream!"
Although Ghost Granny's words were harsh and her demeanor peculiar, she indeed possessed skills. Everyone turned their gaze toward her, waiting for her to offer some guidance.
However, Ghost Granny seemed even more disdainful as she pulled out a pipe and started smoking, the flame flickering.
In that instant, I hadn’t thought much of Ghost Granny’s terrifying nature until I noticed her smoking amidst the flickering light. In such deep darkness, finding a spark was nearly impossible, yet she smoked as if it were nothing.
Damn! Her abilities were too well-hidden; no wonder even Zhengyang looked completely convinced.
Zhengyang smiled sheepishly as he approached Ghost Granny and respectfully bowed. "Ancestor Master, please guide us!"
A glimmer of affection flashed in Ghost Granny's eyes but quickly shifted away until it landed on me. She exhaled a thick cloud of smoke and said, "Let that one come up and pay respects."
My eyelids twitched violently at that moment. I hadn't done anything to provoke Ghost Granny; why was she fixating on me?
However, there was no choice; the situation was stronger than the individual!
Feeling somewhat frustrated, I stepped forward, mimicking Zhengyang's stance, and bowed respectfully. Then I asked, "Please, esteemed elder, guide me!"
"Hmph! Old Man Xia, if you knew this in the afterlife, you would probably die with your eyes wide open, hahahaha!"
Ghost Granny burst into laughter at that moment. From his words, it was clear that he was making things difficult for me because of my grandfather, which made me feel quite resentful.
In the midst of our conversation, Ghost Granny seemed to be in a particularly good mood as he slowly said, "This thing here is not from our world at all. Just look at the material; it's clearly made from meteorite! Do you know what a meteorite is? It used to be a planet but came here and burned away due to friction, leaving only a tiny bit of essence behind. It's exceptionally tough; with what you have in your hands, you won't be able to break it. Moreover, this thing can't be broken by external force! To open this wall, there are mechanisms above!"
"Oh?"
Zhengyang's eyes lit up upon hearing this. "Please enlighten us about the location of the mechanisms!"
"The location? I don't know either!"
Ghost Granny seemed quite pleased with himself. "Two groups of people have come in before. If they had tried to force their way through, it would have definitely resulted in the wall collapsing. So why should I tell you?"
"I thought there would be some clever tricks; turns out it's just nonsense!"
Bald Qiang muttered in dissatisfaction.
As for me... I found myself sinking into a state that felt almost trance-like!!!
Falling Star!
Falling Star...
When Ghost Granny mentioned meteorites and celestial bodies, it felt like he had struck a sensitive nerve within me. In an instant, a flash of inspiration surged through my mind!
Yes, the stars!
That's right, it's the stars.
I can't believe it; this area of the sea is particularly abundant with Falling Stars. When I was on the island at night, I often saw Falling Stars in this region, and there was one night when it was almost like a Meteor Shower.
This made me think of the Serpent King. When they returned to discuss the whereabouts of Sauron, they mentioned going to the end of the starry sky, the origin of the Atlantis civilization!
In other words, passing through the end of the starry sky leads to the Civilization Origin of Atlantis, Poseidonia!
So, the end of the starry sky actually refers to the end of the Homeland, which is that wall adorned with jewels!
Looking at that wall again, it was overall dark, sprinkled with gems. If you used your imagination, wouldn't it resemble a starry sky? Those gems are like the stars in the sky! If there were mechanisms on that wall, they would definitely be located on those gems representing stars!
Which star is most likely to be the key to the mechanism? Without a doubt—Orion!
I studied that mural and learned that the Atlanteans did not actually come from Orion, but they worshiped Orion because when the Heart of Atlantis fell from the sky, it happened to be at night and came from the direction of Orion. The Founding Monarch of the Atlantic Kingdom who found the Heart believed it was a gift from Orion, which led to an entire Atlantis crazily worshiping Orion!
Regardless, there's only one way to find out!
I took a deep breath and walked toward that wall, secretly praying in my heart—hopefully, my guess is correct!
