Without the forces of nature, without witnessing it firsthand, one would never know just how… insignificant they truly are!
Indeed, insignificant!
Like an ant, fragile and easily crushed!
At this moment, the sky was dim, and the white crack in the air appeared to grow larger, giving a sense of the heavens fracturing and light bursting forth. Lightning tore through the sky, illuminating the ground for an instant, while the thunder rumbled like a high-explosive detonation, booming right next to our ears.
The most terrifying sight was the raging sea!
Before us, nearly a hundred meters away, the water surged violently, forming a wave wall over fifty meters high that was slowly advancing. Moreover, it was clear that this wave wall was not its limit; the water behind it continued to crash forward, pushing the wave wall even higher!
This was my first close encounter with a tsunami. I had seen it in disaster films made by Americans before and found it breathtaking. However, only when I found myself in the heart of this tsunami did I realize that no matter how advanced the screen technology or special effects in movies might be, they could never compare to the raw reality of such a scene.
Watching a tsunami on screen felt thrilling and shocking, but being truly immersed in such chaos left me with nothing but feelings of inferiority and fear!
Inferiority from my own insignificance, fear from the threat to my life.
At that moment, every hair on my body stood on end; all my pores seemed to contract. If this wave wall hit us, my jet ski would likely be shattered into pieces. As for me… I couldn’t even imagine whether I would be turned into mush or have my insides smashed apart.
In short, survival seemed impossible.
“The tsunami has intensified again.”
Bald Qiang shouted in sheer terror: “The first wave wall has reached fifty-five meters high—no, now it's fifty-six meters—and it’s still rising! It might even surge up to sixty meters! A massive tsunami! My God, if it hits any island, there will be no survivors!”
“This is not the end; the tsunami continues to strengthen. The next wave could reach heights of a hundred meters!”
Zhengyang’s voice showed no fear or sadness; instead, there was a deep concern. My goodness! In my life, I’ve never leaned on walls or relied on anyone but him. He said firmly: “We must stop Doron and his crew. If they keep this up, it will lead to devastation; humanity will become a wasteland!”
Then Zhengyang shouted: “ Qiang, charge into the waves!”
Upon hearing this shout, Bald Qiang seemed electrified; he revved up his engine and surged forward into the stormy waters.
I looked up at that towering wave of fifty to sixty meters; my heart raced with fear. It was impossible not to be afraid. I buried my head and gritted my teeth as Xiao Xiao and Wan clung to my arms in fright. At that moment, I couldn’t help but feel envious of Big Mouth Lee ’s calmness!
“Damn it, don’t provoke me!”
Boom!
The submarine went wild, tearing through the sea surface like an arrow released from a bow. All I could hear was the howling of the wind and rain, and I didn't even care about the pain of raindrops hitting my face. My eyes were fixed solely on the towering wave wall that loomed ahead, now just sixty meters away.
For me, that was the height of life.
I knew that the moment we surged up the wave wall would be the most dangerous instant. If I could withstand the impact at that moment, my chances of surviving at the top of the wave wall would be significantly higher. If I couldn't hold on, we would all be swallowed by the sea in an instant.
Ten meters, nine meters...
As we raced forward, the wave wall drew closer and closer. If I weren't in this situation, I wouldn't believe that a whole ship was charging straight up a wave wall that stood almost at a ninety-degree angle to the sea surface. It was a sight to behold.
I'm sure you've seen motorcycle stunts where they accelerate at an angle of about eighty degrees; it felt just like that! My heart raced with fear.
In that moment of acceleration, our senses—sight, hearing, even smell—were rendered useless!
Splash!
In an instant, water splashed everywhere, filling my mouth with a salty bitterness that was hard to describe!
Fortunately, the design of the submarine's nose was impeccable. As we crashed into the wave wall, a powerful sensation of weightlessness enveloped me, and dizziness assaulted my brain. It was definitely not a pleasant feeling!
At that moment, I dared not look up or check on anyone else. I clung desperately to the throttle, twisting it as hard as I could without letting go for even a second.
If I loosened my grip, I would fall.
Even a gust of wind could send me plummeting.
Falling meant certain death.
To survive, I had no choice but to keep pushing upward. I had no idea how far I was from the crest of the wave; adrenaline surged through me, and I even felt an urge to use the restroom.
"The wave is still falling!" As soon as I opened my eyes, I realized this dire situation!
I was startled and quickly looked up to see Bald Qiang pushing the submarine to its limits. At that moment, the entire submarine roared as it reached the top of the waves!
Finally, we had made it to the surface!
A surge of joy filled my heart, and I quickly opened my eyes, but soon my spirits began to sink.
I surged up the wave and took in the situation around me!
All around were whirlpools! Countless, more powerful than any waterspout…
Indeed, they were whirlpools, dark and ominous, with seawater continuously pouring into them, creating a scene of extraordinary intensity.
Moreover, these whirlpools seemed to possess a strong suction; as soon as our submarine surfaced, it was drawn closer and closer to the whirlpool by the water being sucked in!
Could these whirlpools be the entrance to the ruins?
Before I could think further, our submarine reached the edge of one of the whirlpools, and then it was swept in, spinning wildly. I felt dizzy and nauseous.
At this rate, being sucked in was inevitable. We couldn't just sit back and watch ourselves be swallowed by the sea. I hurriedly pressed the button to activate the Diving Shield. The Diving Shield slowly ascended, and suddenly we were completely enveloped by the submarine. Remarkably, this submarine had a drainage system that expelled water from inside.
As the entire vessel submerged into the seawater, a sense of safety washed over us; no matter how fierce the storm raged above the sea surface, it had nothing to do with us now!
We felt dizzy as the Vessel continued to spin within the whirlpool…
