I hadn't rested all night, but thankfully I was wearing a life jacket while facing the shark's attack. I had to stay calm; the Azure Dark Sword I carried was too long for stabbing. I drew my dagger, planning to catch the shark off guard and strike. 0

Just as the shark splashed the water and prepared to attack, I quickly adjusted my angle and spotted an opening, aiming for the belly of the Great White Shark. This Dogfish Shark clearly underestimated me, daring to challenge me. In an instant, my dagger pierced its abdomen. With a forceful slide downward, I used its momentum from the charge to gut the seventy to eighty-pound Dogfish Shark. 0

The seawater turned red as several sharks rushed in, tearing at the Dogfish. 0

A wave rolled in, and over a dozen tails thrashed about, accompanied by countless fish swimming around. Moments later, the Dogfish was reduced to a skeleton; it was an incredibly bloody scene that even I, accustomed to slaughter, found horrifying. 0

Taking advantage of their frenzied feeding, I climbed onto a door plank with my companion. 0

By this time, the sun had risen above the horizon. The bright red orb was strikingly vivid but still felt cold. The temperature gradually increased. A strong wind whipped up waves on the surface of the water. As we sat on the door plank, we felt violent collisions beneath us… like a hammer pounding… bang! The collisions grew louder, and several shark fins surfaced nearby, swimming back and forth. 0

The sharks occasionally poked their heads out of the water, revealing rows of sharp teeth—there must have been hundreds of them—gleaming menacingly. That gaping maw filled me with endless terror. Even my companion looked pale and was on the verge of tears. The sight of those blood-soaked jaws was not only terrifying but downright horrifying! 0

Damn it! It seemed they were determined to feast on me; I might as well fight back! 0

I glanced at the Sea Surface, spotting a wooden stick floating nearby from the ship. Using my Azure Dark Sword, I hooked it and pulled it in… the stick was about one and a half meters long. 0

I then found a sturdy rope and securely tied my dagger to it. This made for a simple spear that greatly increased my striking power. Damn it, I didn’t believe they could be tougher than pure steel! I swung the spear and thrust it toward one of the sharks. It pierced its abdomen, dark blood gushing out; clearly in agony, the shark thrashed its tail, sending waves crashing over us. 0

Just as I struggled to pull out my dagger, another shark lunged at me. Luckily, this one was smaller—only about forty or fifty pounds—and bit down on my arm. A sharp pain shot through me as if my muscles were tearing apart. Bright red blood streamed down my arm. Damn it! It seemed I was destined to become like Yang Guo; I didn’t want to be a one-armed monk… ugh! A one-armed master… 0

My companion suddenly found strength from somewhere and leaped up. She pulled out my Azure Dark Sword and swung it at the shark; with one clean slice, she severed its head completely. Half of its head fell onto the door plank and continued to twitch; damn it, looks like we’ll have fish head tofu soup for lunch! 0

The shark's body sank into the water and was quickly devoured by other sharks. 0

“Safe from the jaws of death,” she cried as she bandaged my wound, asking repeatedly, “Brother Xia, does it hurt?” Wasn’t that obvious? Of course it hurt, but I couldn’t show it. Shaking my head, I replied, “I’m fine!” 0

Boom! 0

Several sharks slammed against the door panel. After a few minutes, the crashing sounds completely disappeared. The group of sharks swam away to a distance. I let out a sigh of relief. It seemed they had lost interest! 0

I heard a familiar sound from the sea; about thirty meters away, two people clung to a pillar, bobbing up and down in the water. The sharks were clearly heading to attack them. 0

"Brother Xia, should we save them?" Wan looked at me with concern. Saving them would be difficult; the door panel could barely support two or three people at most. If two more came, it would sink. Damn it, no one would survive then. If we took turns leaning against the door panel, with one person floating in the water, there might be a slim chance of survival. 0

The old man was clearly not inexperienced; he knew how to deal with sharks. When encountering sharks, blindly swimming away was not only ineffective but also made one an easier target. If you attacked the sharks instead, their aggressive nature would kick in, and if they felt pain, it could attract even more sharks. 0

Ordinary people encountering sharks in the water should minimize movement and reduce the scent of sweat. When sharks approach, do not swim away blindly; instead, create strong disturbances on the water's surface to force them to leave. 0

The old man grabbed a stick and began to strike the water vigorously. Sure enough, the sharks dared not come closer. Damn it, he even pulled out a Shark Repellent from his bag! This substance emitted a strong odor that stimulated sharks; within half an hour, they would flee in fear. The old man had some tricks up his sleeve; they clearly noticed our door panel and swam over after driving off the sharks. 0

Moments later, they reached us and shouted, "Get off! This door panel belongs to me!" I was taken aback and thought, "Belongs to you? No way! I won't let you have it!" 0

The old man grabbed Wan's arm tightly, trying to pull her into the sea. Without thinking, I swung my wooden stick down at him. He ducked underwater to avoid it. I struck again with my dagger; he could only let go of his grip and block with his stick. To my surprise, he was quite skilled and focused on attacking my lower body. With Xiao Xiao cheering me on, I struggled to defend myself. 0

He landed a heavy punch on my knee that made me kneel on the door panel with a thud. Xiao Xiao seized the opportunity to grab my feet, trying to pull me into the water. I struggled fiercely but felt as if I were caught in a machine's grip and couldn't break free. 0

Wan seemed panicked; she stood up unsteadily on the door panel and kicked at them with incredible speed that created a gust of wind. They quickly released their hold and swam back several meters, resulting in a stalemate for quite some time. 0

"Ah... ah..." Wan screamed in fright, her face pale as she pointed desperately ahead. 0

A group of sharks was swimming toward us. 0

In that stunned moment, I was pulled into the sea by the old man. To be honest, at this life-and-death crisis, all talk of humanity is nonsense; survival is the key. I could understand the old man—at this point, it was either he died or I did; there was no room for thought. 0

I floated in the water, struggling. The old man and Xiao Xiao were actually stabbing at me with a dagger. I jolted and managed to dodge just in time. The three of us circled each other in the water, fighting, but the waves diminished our killing intent significantly. However, as time passed, I began to tire, and it was clear my opponents were also running low on strength. 0

"Brother Xia, come up!" A hand reached out to me, and I hurriedly swam over. I was yanked onto a door panel. Sharks were closing in, and the old man's Shark Repellent had clearly run out. He kept striking the water's surface with a wooden stick, trying to delay the sharks' attack. 0

"Brother Xia, you can't just watch us die!" I was taken aback by this and hesitated for a moment. But then I thought that although these two were despicable, they were still living beings. The door panel might be able to support their weight. I couldn't help but slide back toward them. 0

As I reached out to pull them up, their hands stretched out as well. The old man and Xiao Xiao were momentarily stunned before they came to their senses and looked at me with gratitude. They had underestimated my intentions! I grabbed Xiao Xiao and pulled her up; fortunately, the door panel didn't sink at all—it seemed sturdy enough to support our weight. A group of sharks opened their gaping jaws and prepared to pounce. 0

The old man looked at Xiao Xiao and suddenly laughed heartily, "Girl, since you can survive, there's no need for me to harm them! I'm off; eighteen years later, I'll still be a good man!" 0

What? He was going to fight the sharks? 0

Fighting against this group of sharks would only lead to death. 0

The old man drew a dagger and slashed it across his arm, blood gushing out. He swam away with all his might. At the same time, a woman's desperate cries echoed through the air—her voice was heartbreakingly sorrowful... 0
