What is this existence?
I felt an overwhelming Eerie Energy surrounding him; this must be the true master worshipped within the Nine-Tiered Corpse Tower! And what about Dong Tong? Has she betrayed me?
Before I could think it through, that booming laughter drew closer!
The voice carried a surge of Killing Intent. In an instant, that thing appeared before me. What kind of creature was it? A face ashen like iron, covered in frost-like shards, resembling a piece of indigo jade encased in glass. Its eyes glowed with a fierce green light, a nose sharp as an eagle's talon, a wide mouth with two dagger-like canine teeth gleaming coldly. Dressed in armor, it emanated a Shadow Mist... Despite being a corpse, it exuded an aura of dominance that nearly made me bow down in reverence—what a joke.
This presence was so formidable that even Zhang Master would be ineffective against it!
“Damn! It’s a Rakshasa!” Big Mouth Lee exclaimed, his voice piercingly loud.
According to the 《The Sutra of the Buddha's Original Conduct》, “Male Rakshasas have black bodies, red hair, and green eyes; female Rakshasas appear as stunning women with captivating powers who feast on human flesh and blood.” The 《Mausoleum Secrets》 further describes Rakshasas as beings formed from human arrogance, jealousy, rage, laziness, greed, gluttony, lust, and murder—embodiments of all human vices that continuously fuel their Killing Intent. This creature had become something beyond even the Drought Demon, incredibly fierce. Only Buddha, Confucius, or the Dao Ancestor might be able to subdue it.
However, this being was clearly not naturally formed. What schemes did the person behind this malevolent setup have? Were they planning to destroy everything through Yin Soldiers?
There was no time for me to ponder further; the Rakshasa stood right before me, its purple hair blazing like fire, its body radiating with surges of Eerie Energy, surrounded by flickering lights akin to swarms of fireflies. At that moment, thick fog enveloped its face; when it dissipated, a beautiful woman’s face emerged—golden hair slightly curled, high cheekbones and deep-set nose—resembling the Rococo sculptures by Italian artist Antonio Corradini, particularly his work "The Modest Woman." Her voice was exceptionally alluring as she smiled at Dong Tong: “Very well; you have not let us down!”
“Agreement?” We exclaimed in unison, thinking to ourselves, “What the hell? Have I been sold? This woman treats us like pigs!” At this thought, I felt neither like crying nor laughing. After all those life-and-death experiences to end up with this conclusion—it was truly tragic!
“Damn it! I’ll fight you!” The bald man was furious and ready to charge forward but was stopped in his tracks by Zhengyang’s furious roar. His eyes were filled with rage as he stared intently at Dong Tong.
Dong Tong seemed somewhat guilty as she moved behind the Rakshasa, refusing to speak. Her shoulders trembled slightly; she was clearly sobbing. Does she still have a conscience? The Rakshasa appeared completely unconcerned about our questions and smiled at Dong Tong: “If she goes out there, you won’t survive; either you die or I do!”
You die or I die? Who exactly is she referring to?
Dong Tong remained silent.
A thick fog enveloped the Rakshasa again; as it dissipated, it transformed into an Evil Spirit, its deep male voice roaring: “Alright! I’m going to make my move!”
“Hah! You wretched thing despised by the world, created from evil and filth—how can you possibly exist? Why should I trust you?” Dong Tong finally spoke up.
“How dare you speak to me like that?”
The Rakshasa turned to glance at Dong Tong, instantly suppressing his anger with a cold smile. "Dear sister, why would I lie to you? In any case, you and she cannot coexist, do you understand?"
"I understand!"
The Rakshasa frowned and let out a cold shout, seemingly sprouting seven or eight limbs, charging forward like a flipped cart! Each hand bore a ball of pure white flame, small yet exuding an oppressive chill.
"Heart, Corpse Fire!"
Corpse Fire appeared to dance like flames from a distance, but in reality, it was a misty frost that would instantly freeze any living creature with Yang Qi upon contact, turning them into ice shards in the blink of an eye.
As the words left his mouth, the two balls of white flame in the Rakshasa's hands soared higher, resembling two slender snakes. How incredible! The Rakshasa was actually using Corpse Fire to forge a Corpse Fire Sword, a rare magical treasure of the Mayi Divination that appeared once in a millennium. Its power was immense! In an instant, the entire tomb chamber felt as if it had been swept by a night of northwestern winds; upon contact with the air seeping through the door cracks, heavy snow began to fall, coating all nearby coffins and structures in frost.
What a powerful Killing Intent! No wonder those who cultivate feel disheartened upon reaching the Nine-Tiered Corpse Tower. We truly faced death this time; if we could survive and escape, it would be nothing short of miraculous!
Zhengyang calmly pulled out a Silk Pouch from his pocket. Inside was a Talisman. At first glance, it seemed no different from an ordinary Talisman, but once it came into contact with the light of Corpse Fire, it erupted into an incredibly brilliant golden glow. The golden light pierced the sky like countless needles, forcing the Rakshasa to shield its eyes!
Is this the Seven Sorrows Talisman? According to the Chinese Ancient and Modern Annotations: "Now sorrow is too overwhelming; joy, anger, happiness, sorrow, hatred, and desire are all absent; only sorrow remains; hence it is called seven sorrows." Members of the Taoist Sect dedicate their lives' Mysterious Power to draw Talismans, infusing their essence into each stroke. In that moment, I understood—this was Qingyunzi's Seven Sorrows. In his later years, Qingyunzi lived under disgrace; who could know his inner loneliness? There is no greater sorrow than a dead heart; this was Qingyunzi's gift to me!
The Seven Sorrows Talisman countered Corpse Fire, significantly weakening the Rakshasa's power.
"Damn it! I'll fight you!"
I shouted as I charged forward. So many people risked their lives for me; how could I stand by idly? "Azure Dark Sword has not tasted blood in ages!"
I swung my longsword, unleashing countless sword flowers as I lunged at the Rakshasa. It was futile; with one kick, the Rakshasa sent me flying several meters away, nearly knocking me unconscious! The gap in strength was too vast—it was no joke.
Big Mouth Lee caught me just in time but angrily rushed forward again only to be kicked away by the Rakshasa.
Bald Qiang's eyes were fierce as he raised his Rifle, intending to strike with the butt of his gun. He too was sent flying by another kick. Damn it! There was almost no way to defend myself!
"Then let me show you the true power of Maoshan's secret teachings!" I thought. If I couldn't face him head-on, then I'd resort to trickery. After all, there was no need for righteousness against such beings. I yelled out: "Come on!" Rising from the ground and adopting an offensive stance while pressing my hand against my abdomen, I charged forward with determination!
The Rakshasa stood motionless, gazing at me with contempt. I rushed forward and pulled out the Celestial Five Thunder Talisman, slapping it onto him with force. The moment the talisman made contact, electric arcs entwined around him like creeping vines. However, in just an instant, he tore through the electric net as if it were mere tattered cloth!
“Hahahahaha!”
The Rakshasa burst into wild laughter, staring at Big Mouth Lee, who was preparing to summon a spirit, and then glancing at Bald Qiang, who seemed to be doing some sort of incantation. He then fixed his gaze on me and laughed heartily, “This is getting more interesting! That skinny guy, your methods are quite impressive!” The Rakshasa pointed at Big Mouth Lee …
“Damn it, what’s so impressive about that skinny guy?” I thought indignantly, quickly realizing, “They’re just toying with us!”
“Wait a moment! I’ll be able to summon the spirit soon!”
Big Mouth Lee suddenly seemed to go mad; after a bout of dizziness, he collapsed to the ground. Not long after, he sat up again, trembling all over. In a shaky voice, he said, “Hey! Why did you summon me?” He glanced at the Rakshasa and immediately began to shake uncontrollably. His voice stuttered as he exclaimed, “T-t-t-too… t-t-terrifying…” In an instant, Big Mouth Lee fainted!
“What kind of cowardly spirit did he summon?”
“Ha ha! Come on, this is getting more entertaining!”
Big Mouth Lee looked utterly ashamed and unexpectedly pulled out something in front of everyone, urinating towards the Rakshasa. He laughed loudly, “Haha! Surprise attack! My boy’s urine can even burn a hole in a diamond!”
“Ah!” The Rakshasa roared in anger, clearly infuriated by Big Mouth Lee ’s actions. In an instant, he lunged forward and seized Big Mouth Lee, sending him flying with a powerful strike!
