The demonic energy expelled from Zhu Caini's body was not only beneficial to fairies but also a great boon for other Ghostly Beings. It could elevate one’s cultivation to the level of the Eternal Ghost King, stirring a hint of greed in Liu Zhenxian's heart. This was enough to illustrate the allure of that demonic energy.
Liu Zhenxian stepped outside the shop and glanced back at Zhu Caini within the Demon Sealing Array, shaking his head lightly. "What a pity," he said, his voice laced with regret. "Such pure demonic energy, if I could devour it, perhaps my hidden injuries would heal a bit."
Ordinary monsters also possessed demonic energy, but theirs was tainted by their own essence, much like contaminated spiritual herbs. For Ghostly Beings, consuming such energy would yield little benefit. In contrast, the demonic energy within Zhu Caini was the purest kind; it could not only enhance a Ghostly Being's cultivation but also mend internal injuries. The two types of demonic energy were simply incomparable.
About a minute later, a heavy black cloud of Eerie Energy drifted over the shop, enveloping it entirely and even obscuring the round moon above.
Liu Zhenxian looked up at the black cloud overhead, exuding the powerful aura of an Eternal Ghost King. His tone was icy as he declared, "This is not a place for you to be. If you don't want to die, get lost!"
The black cloud in midair was actually composed of a vast amount of Eerie Aura, and as an Eternal Ghost King, Liu Zhenxian could see through its true nature at a glance.
"Hey, just a mere Evil Spirit dares to be so arrogant! Who do you think you are?" A chilling voice echoed from within the black cloud. Instead of retreating, the cloud surged downward toward Liu Zhenxian.
"Hmph, seeking death. Since you want to die, I'll grant your wish!" Liu Zhenxian scoffed disdainfully, his eyes glinting with Cold Killing Intent. He reached out into the void and summoned a Ghost Blade stained with red blood into his hand.
"Kill! Eliminate this Evil Spirit!"
"Heh heh! That demonic energy is mine; don’t try to steal it from me!"
"Kill everyone here! Haha, I can feast again!"
…
Dark clouds swirled ominously, revealing a mass of Ghostly Beings, numbering at least a couple of thousand. Among them, the highest-ranked Ghostly Being had reached the level of Millennium Ghost General, while many others were merely Century Ghosts in terms of cultivation. However, all these Ghostly Beings were shrouded in a red Killing Intent, clearly indicating they were Evil Spirits burdened by a history of slaughter.
Liu Zhenxian did not wait for the Ghostly Beings to descend; he swiftly propelled himself into the air. With a flick of his wrist, he unleashed his Ghost Blade, sending forth a tangible arc of blade light that struck the Ghostly Beings. The impact shattered their souls, dispersing them into wisps of eerie black mist that faded into the atmosphere.
Without pausing, Liu Zhenxian continued to slash with his Ghost Blade, each strike slicing through the Ghostly Beings as effortlessly as chopping vegetables, without any hint of strain.
Hearing the commotion outside, I turned my head to glance and couldn't help but feel a twitch at the corner of my eye. Shaking my head, I muttered to myself, "Liu Zhenxian is truly powerful. Even though I am now at Master Rank, defeating him still seems unlikely."
Hu Yalong and Wu Jie were witnessing Liu Zhenxian's prowess for the first time. Their eyes sparkled with admiration as Hu Yalong clenched his fists excitedly and exclaimed, "Wow! I didn't expect my master to be this amazing. If I had even half of his power, what Ghostly Being could possibly stand against Brother Fat? At that point, I'd just need to make a few moves and wealth would come rolling in."
Wu Jie shot Hu Yalong an exasperated look and shook his head dismissively. "Come on, Hu Yalong, stop dreaming."
"Wu Jie, what are you talking about? This isn't dreaming! Are you looking down on Brother Fat? Do you want me to spar with you?" Hu Yalong said with annoyance as he rolled up his sleeves and playfully challenged Wu Jie. They were so engrossed in their banter that they failed to notice He Ying silently shedding tears beside them.
"Mom, is this really the Daoist Sect you admired? Why didn’t you tell him the truth back then? Maybe he would have changed his choice and you wouldn’t have to suffer like this," He Ying thought to herself. Spending time with Liu Zhenxian had made her feel his affection for her. Unfortunately, some things had already happened; there was no chance for regret.
He Ying wiped away her tears with determination, clenching her fists and forcing a faint smile on her face as if nothing had happened.
After four or five minutes, Liu Zhenxian wielded his Ghost Blade with such skill that he shattered the dark cloud above into pieces. The once menacing Ghostly Beings scattered in fear, leaving only nine figures dressed in Ghost Messenger uniforms hovering in mid-air.
These nine Ghost Messengers were all at the Millennium Ghost General level of cultivation. Yet faced with Liu Zhenxian, the Eternal Ghost King, they showed no fear; instead, they adopted an arrogant demeanor. One of the Ghost Messengers brandished a Soul Snare and swung it forcefully toward Liu Zhenxian's head while shouting loudly, "How dare you, Evil Spirit! Do you really think you can attack us? Do you believe I won’t send you straight to the eighteen layers of hell? Now get lost!"
The nine Ghost Messengers relied on their status and often bullied any encountered Ghostly Beings without hesitation. They even gathered a group of Evil Spirits as their subordinates to dominate the Yang Realm. However, they understood their limits; they would only target Ghostly Beings and would not trouble ordinary Living Persons.
"Daring to strike at me, it seems you are ready to meet your death. Then go ahead and die!" Liu Zhenxian was no ordinary Ghostly Being; he felt no fear towards the Ghost Messenger before him. The murderous intent in his eyes grew colder as he flashed forward, charging at the Ghost Messenger. In the blink of an eye, Liu Zhenxian appeared behind the Ghost Messenger, swinging his Ghost Blade forward. A tangible arc of light from the blade slashed toward the Ghost Messenger's chest.
The Ghost Messenger had never anticipated that Liu Zhenxian would dare to attack him, so he was unprepared. By the time he reacted, Liu Zhenxian's Ghost Blade had already severed one of his arms.
"Not good! We need to leave!" The other Ghost Messengers sensed the killing intent radiating from Liu Zhenxian, and a wave of intense fear surged within them. They believed Liu Zhenxian truly intended to kill them. Without hesitation, all nine of them turned and fled into the distance.
"Now that you want to leave, you should leave something behind!" Liu Zhenxian had already made his move and would not let the nine Ghost Messengers escape so easily. He pursued them relentlessly, unleashing a flurry of slashes that sent the Ghost Messengers fleeing in disarray.
After a while, as the Ghost Messengers escaped far away, Liu Zhenxian grew concerned for He Ying's safety and chose not to continue his pursuit. He sheathed his Ghost Blade and calmly turned around, returning to the outside of the shop.
