Li Hongze discovered that his identity had been exposed, and a sinister smile crept across his face. He decided to stop hiding; with a swift motion, he drew a long gash across his face and pulled hard, peeling off the layer of Human Skin to reveal a youthful visage beneath.
"Heh heh, I didn't expect you to find me out. What a pity for this skin. By the way, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Ge Bing, and I specialize in peeling Human Skin as an Evil Cultivator," Ge Bing said cheerfully to Lan Yue, his body beginning to tremble violently as he transformed back into his original form, while Li Hongze's Human Skin fell away from him.
Lan Yue looked at the Human Skin on the ground, his eyes turning red as a Cold Killing Intent radiated from him. He turned to Ge Bing and spoke in a grim voice, "Ge Bing, did you kill Li Hongze?"
Ge Bing regarded Lan Yue with indifference before casually nodding. "That's right. That guy named Li Hongze was killed by me. Otherwise, how could I have found such complete Human Skin?"
Although Ge Bing and Wang Hongtao were fellow disciples, their methods of casting spells were entirely different. Wang Hongtao had learned the art of folding techniques, so he typically used folding as a medium for his spells.
In contrast, Ge Bing lacked Wang Hongtao's skills and sought to unleash the full power of his techniques. Thus, he took a more extreme path by using Human Skin as the medium for his spells.
In fact, even the two Paper Spirits I shattered earlier contained a piece of Human Skin within the paper used to refine evil spirits; this was key to those Paper Men becoming evil spirits.
Additionally, after Ge Bing found Wang Hongtao's soul some time ago, he intended to return to his sect but unexpectedly encountered an old man from the Ten Thousand Evil Hall on the way. The old man initially aimed to capture Li Hongze and Hu Yalong as hostages to lure me out. However, Ge Bing coveted Li Hongze's skin and took him from the old man's grasp, leading to the current scene.
Upon hearing Ge Bing's admission, Lan Yue's killing intent intensified. He picked up a nearby chair and hurled it toward Ge Bing while shouting loudly, "Ge Bing, you dare kill Li Hongze! I will kill you now to avenge him!"
Lan Yue's mind was consumed with one thought: to crush Ge Bing with that chair. His latent potential surged forth as he dashed toward Ge Bing, raising the chair high above his head and bringing it down with all his strength toward Ge Bing's head.
If Ge Bing were just an ordinary youth, he would indeed be severely injured by Lan Yue's chair. But Ge Bing was a true Evil Cultivator; he was not so easily dealt with.
As soon as Ge Bing saw Lan Yue charging at him, he glanced outside the room and noticed that the Evil Qi within the entire third floor had nearly dissipated. At that moment, a glint of determination flashed in his eyes. He quickly cast several spells with both hands while muttering to himself, "The evil spirit energy has been absorbed almost completely; now it's my turn to strike."
Just as I destroyed those two Paper Spirits, I accidentally shattered a strange orb hidden within one of them. It was only after the orb broke that the Evil Qi surged into the third floor of the tavern.
While some of the Evil Qi rushed directly into my mind, much more drifted throughout the entire third floor. Unnoticed by anyone, those Evil Qi gradually disappeared.
However, upon closer inspection, one would find that the Evil Qi had seeped into the surrounding walls, absorbed by the Human-Shaped Murals on them.
Ge Bing dodged Lan Yue's attacks while quickly casting spells. Just as he was cornered by Lan Yue against the wall, he suddenly reached out and slapped the mural on the wall, pulling it outward with force as he shouted, "Come forth, my children!"
Lan Yue paid no attention to Ge Bing's actions. Having finally cornered Ge Bing, his murderous intent surged uncontrollably. He raised the chair in his hand and swung it fiercely at Ge Bing while shouting, "Ge Bing, die!"
With a roar, just as Lan Yue's chair was about to smash into Ge Bing's head, a figure burst out from the wall behind Ge Bing, blocking the chair.
There was a soft thud as Lan Yue's chair shattered upon impact, leaving his hands numb and deforming the figure in front of him.
Rubbing his aching wrists, Lan Yue carefully observed the figure before him and discovered it was yet another Human Skin filled with Evil Qi. Anger flashed in Lan Yue's eyes as he pointed at Ge Bing's nose and shouted, "Ge Bing, you demon! How many people have you killed?"
A sinister smile spread across Ge Bing's face. He patted the Human Skin in front of him and chuckled, "Hehe, Lan Yue, don't be so agitated. I'm actually quite soft-hearted. After all these years studying Evil Spells, I've only peeled off seventy-nine Human Skins. You don't need to fear me too much because you'll soon become my eightieth masterpiece. Hehe."
Seeing the smile on Ge Bing's face sent a chill down Lan Yue's spine. A sliver of rationality returned to his mind. He picked up another chair nearby and warily glared at Ge Bing, speaking fiercely, "Ge Bing, you've killed so many people; retribution will come for you sooner or later. Today, I—Lan Yue—will punish you in place of Old Yao."
With that, Lan Yue hurled the chair at Ge Bing's head and immediately dashed toward the exit of the private room. Despite his earlier bravado, upon seeing seven or eight more Human Skin Evil Spirits emerge before Ge Bing, he realized he couldn't take him on alone and had no intention of confronting him head-on.
After running out of the private room, a female ghost desperately blocked the pursuing Human Skin Evil Spirits but was injured within seconds. However, thanks to her sacrifice of time, Lan Yue was already rushing toward us while shouting loudly, "Jiang Ling! Fatty! Wake up quickly; someone is coming to kill us!"
