The faint sound of corrosion echoed from the Green Mist, as Liu Zhenxian's Ghost Blade was shattered into a swirl of Eerie Aura, dissipating into the air. The Eerie Aura surrounding him was also gradually dispersing.
"A mere poison gas dares to trap me! Disperse!" Liu Zhenxian's expression turned serious. With a wave of his right hand, a powerful surge of Eerie Aura erupted from within him, directly dispersing the Green Mist.
The dozen or so Green Grubs screeched in agitation upon witnessing Liu Zhenxian easily break through the toxic mist they had released. The swarm of Blood-Sucking Worms surged toward him, and as they approached within half a meter, their bodies swelled like balloons, growing larger and larger.
With a loud bang, after three or four seconds, the sound of the Blood-Sucking Worms self-destructing filled the air. A splash of green liquid erupted from their bodies, drenching Liu Zhenxian.
In mid-air, one green Blood-Sucking Worm remained alive. This worm was only the size of half a fist, with black markings on its back resembling a face. Its eyes were filled with intelligence, completely different from those that had just exploded.
The remaining Blood-Sucking Worm let out a shrill cry toward the shop, causing the Red Corpse Bugs that had been flying toward Liu Zhenxian to immediately turn around and charge at him. After issuing commands to the Blood-Sucking Worms, it darted outside the shop without daring to linger.
"Blood-Sucking Worms, you harmed my daughter and expect to escape unscathed? You're dreaming!" Liu Zhenxian kept an eye on the movements of the Green Grub. He reached out toward the Soul Nourishing Stone, summoning a black ghostly figure that appeared in the shop—this was the female ghost he had previously captured within the Soul Nourishing Stone.
Upon her appearance, the female ghost knelt before Liu Zhenxian and respectfully asked, "Master, what are your orders?"
Liu Zhenxian controlled the surrounding Eerie Aura, transforming it into several massive hands that forcefully blocked the green liquid. He tore open a gap and pointed at the Blood-Sucking Worms that were nearly at the shop's entrance, his tone icy as he commanded, "Capture that Blood-Sucking Worm at all costs."
Worried that the red Blood-Sucking Worms might harm He Ying, Liu Zhenxian had no intention of pursuing the fleeing Green Grub until he dealt with them. Thus, he summoned this female ghost. However, he did not expect her to capture the Blood-Sucking Worm; he merely hoped she could delay it for a moment to buy him some time.
"Yes, Master!" The female ghost responded and swiftly dashed through the gap. Channeling her Eerie Aura, she waved her right hand in mid-air and conjured a lantern made of white paper.
"Hehe, little worm, come here to sister!" The female ghost laughed as she positioned herself in front of the Blood-Sucking Worm. She beckoned it closer while lowering her lantern over it in an attempt to trap it inside.
"Chirp chirp~~" The Green Grub glared at the female ghost with a murderous look. In an instant, it was captured by her and stuffed into a lantern. However, the Blood-Sucking Worms did not panic; it opened its mouth and bit down on the lantern, instantly creating a hole. With a swift motion, it transformed into an afterimage and darted in front of the female ghost, then spat out a cloud of green toxic mist that enveloped her head.
"Ah! It hurts! Master, save me!" The female ghost screamed in agony, her face corroded beyond recognition by the poison. She clutched her head in pain, unable to open her eyes, her body trembling uncontrollably.
"You're really useless; go back into the Soul Nourishing Stone!" Liu Zhenxian scolded angrily. After receiving his consent, the female ghost swayed and transformed into an Eerie Aura, slipping back into the Soul Nourishing Stone.
"Chirp chirp~~" The Blood-Sucking Worms let out a triumphant cry, flapping its wings as it leisurely slipped out through the crack in the shop's door.
"Damn it, I let the Evil Insect Master escape! If I had known, I would have acted sooner!" I muttered to myself. To protect the unconscious He Ying, I had been quietly standing behind the counter, only managing to crush seven or eight careless Blood-Sucking Worms without any opportunity to showcase my skills.
Watching the Blood-Sucking Worms slip out through the door crack, I could only shake my head in regret. This was already the second time I had seen the Blood-Sucking Worms raised by the Evil Insect Master. I had originally planned to follow this one to locate the Evil Insect Master's true form, but it seemed that chance was lost now.
Meanwhile, at the villa where Yu Yuanhang had been before, furious roars echoed from within. A blurry figure burst out of the villa, draped in a red robe. A gust of wind blew, revealing a gap in the robe through which various Blood-Sucking Worms could be seen crawling all over him.
The Figure clenched his fists tightly, his gaze fixed ahead as he rasped, "Jiang Ling, this body was my favorite, and now you've ruined it! Our feud is not over; once I find a new vessel, our next meeting will be your death."
With that, the Figure quickly left the villa. Moments later, an explosion erupted from inside, engulfing it in flames that raged wildly.
On another front, after Liu Zhenxian dealt with the group of Blood-Sucking Worms, he glanced at He Ying with a complex expression and muttered to himself, "She really looks just like Xia. Sigh, Xia, I'm sorry."
Liu Zhenxian sighed deeply; he still lacked the courage to face He Ying. With a flicker of movement, he transformed into an Eerie Aura and slipped into the Soul Nourishing Stone on the ground.
I picked up the Soul Nourishing Stone and placed it in my backpack. Then I took out a talisman and affixed it to He Ying's forehead. With my left hand swiftly casting a spell while chanting aloud: "Ultimate Earth, Mystical Arts Have Methods. The Way is clear; Talisman dispels evil. Spirit of earth and spirit of heaven, heed my command. Exorcism Talisman, command!"
I had previously observed the situation with He Ying and discovered that she had been placed under an Evil Spell by the Evil Insect Master. That was why I used the Exorcism Talisman to awaken her.
As soon as I finished speaking, the talisman on He Ying's forehead ignited without a flame, transforming into a beam of white light that surged into her mind. After two or three seconds, a wisp of Evil Aura emerged from He Ying's nose. At that moment, her eyes flickered, and soon she opened them wide.
