I saw the expression on Jiang Bao's face and immediately felt something was off. I didn't hide anything and briefly recounted what had happened to me in the Ghost Realm.
After listening to my story, Jiang Bao's expression became somewhat complicated. He patted my shoulder and said with a smile, "Jiang Ling, you actually dared to go to the Ghost Realm. It's a miracle that you made it out alive."
I shrugged off Jiang Bao's hand, feeling a bit annoyed. "Jiang Bao, you underestimate me too much. The Ghost Realm is nothing special. When I have some free time, I plan to venture in there again."
Jiang Bao shook his head, organizing his emotions before seriously saying, "Jiang Ling, I have a rough idea of your situation. The Round Seal inside you has already evolved. Now, you have sealed an Evil God within you. Once you completely refine this Evil God, your cultivation will see a significant boost, likely reaching the Daoist Earth Immortal Tablet."
The Round Seal was originally meant to seal evil spirits. My master had inscribed the Round Seal on me but chose to seal the Demon Lord within Jiang Bao instead.
Unfortunately, fate is unpredictable; by a twist of coincidence, I now also had an Evil God sealed within me.
A spark of excitement flashed in my eyes as I asked, "Jiang Bao, is that true? As long as I refine this Evil God, my strength can reach the Daoist Earth Immortal Tablet?"
When I was in the Ghost Realm, I had witnessed Bai Bufan's immense power, and at that time, he was only half a step into Earth Immortal strength. I began to fantasize about how incredible it would be if I truly reached the Daoist Earth Immortal Tablet; just thinking about it made me feel exhilarated.
Jiang Bao nodded and said, "This is what Master told me. I originally planned to help you break the Round Seal on you, but it seems that's no longer necessary."
"However, there's one thing you must remember: the Evil God inside you has just been sealed. Those with profound cultivation can forcibly take the Evil God from you. So unless absolutely necessary, it's best not to rely on the power of the Evil God within you. Once you've fully integrated that Evil God into your being, you won't have to worry about it being taken away."
"Don't worry; I'll be careful," I replied with a nod, though I felt a bit anxious. With this Evil God sealed inside me, although Jiang Bao didn't say it directly, I knew that others could only seize my Evil God if they killed me first.
Jiang Bao looked into my eyes and said seriously, "Jiang Ling, once your cultivation reaches the Daoist Earth Immortal Tablet, we will go together to the Demon Realm to find Master."
I nodded and said confidently, "Jiang Bao, by next year's Ghost Festival, I will definitely be able to refine the Evil God within me. By then, if Master hasn't returned yet, I'll go look for him with you. I hope that by then, your cultivation will also reach the Daoist Earth Immortal Tablet."
Just kidding, the Evil God within me had long lost its consciousness; the true Ghostly Being was actually just Dog Treasure. And Dog Treasure was originally my Demon Beast, so there was no need for refinement. I just had to wait for Dog Treasure to inherit the power of the Evil God, and I could borrow it directly.
Suddenly, a flurry of footsteps echoed outside the shop, growing closer and closer.
Jiang Bao furrowed his brow and quickly wiped away the bloodstained symbols on my chest. He said, "Jiang Ling, hurry up and put on your clothes. Don't let anyone see your Round Seal!"
I quickly picked up the clothes from the ground and put them on, while also rummaging through my backpack to find a piece of clothing for Jiang Bao and tossed it to him.
"Jiang Ling, Jiang Bao, something's wrong! There's been a major incident on Ghost Street." Just as we finished putting on our clothes, Cheng Zhong pushed the door open and rushed in. His brow was tightly knitted, and he looked somewhat panicked.
"Let's go see what's happening," Jiang Bao said as he grabbed the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword and dashed out first. I took out my Rusty Sword and followed closely behind.
As I burst out of the shop, I was immediately hit by a pungent smell of blood in the air. When I reached outside, I saw bodies lying all over Ghost Street.
The corpses were still fresh; it was clear they had died not long ago. However, the sight was gruesome—there wasn't a single complete body in sight. The ground was littered with dismembered limbs, and bright red entrails along with white brain matter were splattered everywhere, creating a particularly bloody scene.
I forced myself not to vomit, pulling my gaze away as I frowned and said, "How could this happen? Who dares to cause trouble on Ghost Street? Aren't they asking for death?"
I looked towards the exit of Ghost Street and noticed many people still alive there, with sounds of fighting coming from that direction.
At that moment, Jiang Bao turned to glance at me and calmly said, "Jiang Ling, you don't need to worry about what's happening here. You should leave Ghost Street as soon as possible; I'll find you outside later. Leave this matter to me."
I saw Jiang Bao's determined expression and could only nod, saying, "Be careful, don't die here."
With that, Jiang Bao led Cheng Zhong, swaying his body as he rushed towards the group of fighters. I followed in that direction, but my speed was not as fast as theirs.
As I walked a few steps, I suddenly heard a buzzing sound in my ears. I glanced to my left and spotted a black bug the size of a fingernail.
"Damn, I've seen these Blood-Sucking Worms before. Could it be the work of the Evil Insect Master again?" I recognized the black Blood-Sucking Worms in front of me and an ominous feeling surged in my heart. Without hesitation, I swung my Rusty Sword at the Blood-Sucking Worm and easily dispatched it.
My gaze returned to the corpses on the ground, and I suddenly noticed something was off. My brows furrowed as I muttered to myself, "Something's not right; these people look too gruesome. This doesn't seem like the Evil Insect Master's doing."
"Regardless of the situation, it's best for me to leave Ghost Street quickly!" I thought anxiously and hurriedly made my way towards the exit of Ghost Street with my Rusty Sword in hand.
Along the way, I encountered more black Blood-Sucking Worms. However, their lethality was minimal and their numbers few, posing no threat to me. I easily eliminated them.
When I reached the exit of Ghost Street, I found that the fighting had suddenly stopped. As I got closer, I discovered three factions present: one comprised of about forty to fifty tourists from Ghost Street; another was a group of shopkeepers numbering only a dozen; and the last faction consisted of thirty to forty individuals dressed in matching black robes, appearing lifeless.
