I absentmindedly walked back toward the Buddhist Artifact Shop, and before I knew it, I had reached the side entrance of the courthouse. I saw three people coming out from inside—Wang Xinyu and his two lawyers. 0

"Wang Xinyu!" Upon seeing Wang Xinyu's lecherous, fat face, a surge of anger rose within me, and I instinctively shouted. 0

Wang Xinyu recognized me; he had long suspected that I was the one spreading rumors online. His expression darkened as he stormed over, pointing a finger at my nose and shouting angrily, "Jiang Ling! What do you want? Are you not satisfied with how badly you've already harmed me?" 0

Although Wang Xinyu had not been convicted, the charitable image he had painstakingly built over the years was now shattered. His reputation had become notorious, and no one would want to do business with him again. His future life would undergo a drastic transformation. 0

However, the punishment Wang Xinyu faced was nothing compared to the suffering Zhao Mingyue endured; it was merely a drop in the bucket and far from enough to atone for his crimes. 0

"Wang Xinyu, you scoundrel! How can you still have the face to say you've been wronged? Have you ever thought about what you've done to Zhao Mingyue?" My anger flared, and I questioned him without backing down. 0

"That wretched woman can't compare to me! It's her fortune that I even looked at her!" Wang Xinyu's expression twisted into a snarl as he shouted without thinking. The two lawyers beside him looked alarmed and quickly pulled him back, saying, "Director Wang, calm down! We need to leave here first!" 0

The commotion had already attracted the attention of people nearby, and some were rushing over. When they heard Wang Xinyu's words, their faces turned furious as they hurried toward us. 0

"Wang Xinyu is worse than an animal! He just admitted it himself! We need to take him to the police station!" 0

"Don't let him get away!" 0

Seeing the crowd rushing toward him, Wang Xinyu felt regret but his resentment toward me deepened. He glared at me with venomous eyes and hissed, "Jiang Ling, just wait! I'll make you pay!" 0

With that, Wang Xinyu and his two lawyers turned and ran toward a car parked by the roadside. 0

"There's plenty of time ahead! Wang Xinyu, I'll make sure you get what you deserve!" I took a deep breath and thought to myself. Gripping my Demon-Subduing Staff tightly, I fought against the impulse to smash it over his head. 0

"Big Brother, why are you just standing there in a daze? If you don't chase after him now, that scoundrel Wang Xinyu will escape!" At that moment, the eccentric person I had met on the bus appeared beside me. He held a rotten tomato in his right hand and two stinky eggs in his left, throwing them toward Wang Xinyu and his companions in the distance. 0

"Give me some of those stinky eggs! I'll give it a try too!" I reached out for three eggs and rushed forward, throwing them forcefully at Wang Xinyu's head. 0

Two of the stinky eggs missed and smashed on the ground nearby, but the last one hit Wang Xinyu squarely on the back of his head, splattering foul-smelling egg whites all over him. 0

"Big Brother, you're amazing! You hit him right away! I'll keep passing you stinky eggs; just keep throwing!" The person with the travel bag followed closely behind me. As soon as I finished throwing my eggs, he immediately handed me more. 0

We chased for about two hundred meters before Wang Xinyu finally reached his car and sped away in panic. During this time, I managed to hit him with five more stinky eggs and two rotten tomatoes. 0

I watched as Wang Xinyu and the others left, my anger subsiding slightly. I smiled at the person next to me and reached out, saying, "My name is Jiang Ling. What's your name, brother?" 0

"I'm Chen Sibao," he replied with a grin. "Nice to meet you, Jiang Ling!" Chen Sibao extended his hand, and we shook. We exchanged phone numbers, and he patted my arm, laughing, "Brother, until we meet again!" 0

With that, Chen Sibao turned and ran off into the distance. I was puzzled by his sudden departure when I turned around and saw a group of police officers approaching with batons in hand. 0

"Stop right there! You think you can just run after causing trouble? Not a chance! All of you come back to the station for some reflection!" the officers shouted. I touched my ear and politely waved at them, smiling as I said, "Goodbye, officer!" 0

Then I turned and sprinted away, faster than Chen Sibao. I quickly vanished from the officers' sight. There were too many troublemakers for the police to catch everyone, and since we hadn't done anything too outrageous, they weren't overly harsh—only a few of the ringleaders were apprehended. 0

"I should head back to the Buddhist Artifact Shop and lay low for a while," I thought as I glanced back and noticed no police were pursuing me. Relieved, I prepared to take a car back to the shop. 0

The incident involving Wang Xinyu had already been adjudicated by the court. Although many people disagreed with the verdict, their dissent did not change the outcome. After a few days, the fervor surrounding Wang Xinyu's case gradually diminished, and discussions about it became less frequent. 0

I had been keeping an eye on Wang Xinyu's situation and learned that his private mental hospital had been shut down, with patients transferred to various public mental hospitals. 0

In an effort to seek forgiveness from the public, Wang Xinyu donated half of his fortune to charitable organizations and left his villa without anyone knowing where he went to avoid scrutiny. 0

"I wonder where Uncle Chuxiubin is now?" I recalled visiting Wang Xinyu's private hospital previously with the intention of informing him about my progress in Buddhism. However, when I arrived, Wang Dan informed me that Chuxiubin had left the mental hospital to live a normal life. 0

I knew deep down that Chuxiubin must be investigating the murderer of Chu Pengpeng; I wondered if he had found any leads. 0

Time flew by quickly; before I knew it, a week had passed. 0

During this time, the good news was that I had been diligently refining the Buddhist Relic within me and had successfully refined a quarter of it. My Buddhist Power had increased significantly, allowing me to perform some simple Buddhist Spells. 0

The bad news was that during this entire week, no one had come to buy any Buddhist Artifacts, and I hadn’t earned a single penny. 0

"Three hundred thousand! How long will it take to earn that?" I sighed as I sat beside Jin Yuan, idly playing on my phone. 0

"Ding ding ding~~ ding ding ding~~" My phone rang, and I was pleasantly surprised to see it was Qu Liang calling me. 0

I calculated the time; now that the college entrance exams were over, they should be on break for three or four days. During this period, I'd been staying at the Buddhist Artifact Shop without much contact with Qu Liang and the others. I never expected Qu Liang would actually call me. 0

"Hey, Qu Liang, what’s up? Are you missing me?" I answered the phone, my voice instantly turning sweet. 0

"Yeah, I miss you so much! Hahaha!" 0

"Brother Jiang Ling, can you be any more cheesy? A little more greasy, please!" 0

On the other end of the line, I could hear Hu Yalong and the others laughing along with Qu Liang. I felt a wave of embarrassment wash over me, awkwardly touching my ear as I returned to my normal tone. "Fatty, are you looking for trouble? If you have something to say, say it; if not, get lost!" 0

"Brother Jiang Ling, a few of us in the dorm are planning to have a farewell dinner tomorrow afternoon. Are you coming?" Hu Yalong asked. 0

"Of course! I'll come find you guys at school tomorrow!" After chatting with Hu Yalong for a bit and exchanging a few words with Qu Liang, I hung up. 0

"A farewell dinner! I didn’t expect to be parting ways with Fatty and the others so soon!" I muttered to myself, feeling a mix of emotions. The four of us had been together for three years in the dorm, and we had grown very close. But all good things must come to an end; it's a necessary part of life. 0

After saying goodbye to Jin Yuan, I shouldered my bag and left the Buddhist Artifact Shop. 0

I wonder if everyone remembers the treasure map we got earlier. In the next chapter, Jiang Ling and Qu Liang will go treasure hunting together. Stay tuned! If you like it, save it and leave comments to let me know you're out there! 0
