As Jiang Bao saw me about to fall, he hurried over to support me. He glanced at me, shook his head in disbelief, and muttered, "Brother Jiang Ling, you really are too weak! You fainted just from using the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword once!"
Jiang Bao picked up the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword from the ground and carried me out of the forest. Just as he stepped out, he spotted a figure approaching in the distance.
"Jie, what are you doing here?" When Jiang Bao recognized Lu Jie, he immediately quickened his pace to meet her.
Lu Jie had changed into her pajamas. She glanced at me, who had fainted, and then at the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword in Jiang Bao's hand, her mind beginning to form some suspicions.
Lu Jie shot a glare at Jiang Bao and said angrily, "Jiang Bao, what are you two doing here in Sophora Forest so late at night? Don't you need to sleep?"
Jiang Bao smiled sheepishly and winked at Lu Jie. "Jie, we finally have some time alone together; of course we should sleep together! It's getting late; let's head back right now!"
"Who wants to sleep with you!" Lu Jie glared at Jiang Bao again, feeling a bit embarrassed as she turned away and walked ahead.
"Jie, don't walk so fast!" Watching Lu Jie's retreating figure, Jiang Bao hurriedly quickened his steps, carrying me as he chased after her.
After about ten minutes, Jiang Bao brought me home and laid me on the bed I used to sleep in. He looked at the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword in his hand and sighed reluctantly. "Brother Jiang Ling, Master actually passed the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword to you. This clearly means he is preparing to hand over the shop on Spirit Ghost Street to you! You are truly fortunate!"
Jiang Bao shook his head and placed the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword under my pillow. He turned off the light and closed the door behind him as he stepped out.
After washing up, Jiang Bao slipped into Lu Jie's room. They were no strangers to sleeping together by now, so there was no shyness between them.
Lu Jie wrapped her arms around Jiang Bao's neck and pushed away his wandering hands, her face flushed as she asked, "Jiang Bao, did your master really pass the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword to that Jiang Ling?"
Jiang Bao nodded. "Brother Jiang Ling is Master's only direct disciple. If not him, who else would receive the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword?"
Lu Jie pondered for a moment and said, "Aren't you also your master's disciple? Why can't it be passed to you?"
Jiang Bao caressed Lu Jie's smooth back and replied, "Jie, I'm just a nominal disciple of Master; I don't hold much weight. Besides, I think it's not bad for Brother Jiang Ling to inherit Master's Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword!"
"That Jiang Ling is too weak; he struggles even against a Sophora Tree Demon!" A cold glint flashed in Lu Jie's eyes as she disdainfully said, "Jiang Bao, why don't we find a way to snatch the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword? As long as you have it in hand, you can inherit your master's shop!"
"Jie, what nonsense are you talking about!" Hearing Lu Jie's words, Jiang Bao immediately sat up from the bed. His gaze was icy as he looked at Lu Jie, even containing a hint of killing intent.
It was the first time Lu Jie had seen such a cold expression from Jiang Bao after all their time together. Startled, she quickly hugged his arm and playfully said, "Jiang Bao, I was just joking; don't take it seriously!"
Jiang Bao looked into Lu Jie's eyes and said seriously, "Jie, if you keep this up, it will be very difficult for me!"
Lu Jie had genuinely wanted to encourage Jiang Bao to snatch the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword, but after seeing Jiang Bao's attitude, she completely abandoned her plan.
Lu Jie leaned forward, wrapping her arms around Jiang Bao's neck as she sat on him, smiling, "Jiang Bao, don't be so angry! I won't do it again next time!"
"Alright, let's forget about it this time and continue!" Jiang Bao said, secretly swallowing hard as he caught sight of Lu Jie's fair skin. A mischievous smile spread across his face. He pulled the blanket up, and the two began to indulge in each other.
When I woke up, it was already the next morning. As I opened my eyes and saw the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword under my pillow, memories of last night flooded back.
The realization that I had actually fainted made me feel terrible. I slapped my forehead and muttered awkwardly to myself, "What a shameful situation! Maybe I should just go back to school and find Qu Liang!"
Just then, Jiang Bao walked in with a grin on his face. " Brother Jiang Ling," he said playfully, "if you dare to run away now, I'll tell everyone in Spirit Ghost Street about your little incident!"
As the saying goes, a tree has its bark and a person has their face.
If this matter were to be spread by Jiang Bao, I would truly be embarrassed beyond measure and might even get scolded by my master.
I touched my ear and shot Jiang Bao a glare. "Jiang Bao, can you not be so shameless?"
"I can't!" Jiang Bao replied with a laugh.
In the end, I decided not to return to school because I was worried about Jiang Bao and Lu Jie dealing with the Drought Demon. I wanted to stay behind to help them out.
After we had breakfast, we saw Uncle and the others hurriedly carrying water buckets out. Curious, I asked Jiang Bao, "Where are Uncle and the others going with those buckets?"
Jiang Bao glanced outside and sighed. "The village is experiencing a drought right now; there's no water source available. My dad and the others have to go to Qinghe Village to fetch water."
I stepped outside and saw many villagers carrying water buckets, all heading in groups toward Qinghe Village.
Following the villagers' path with my gaze toward the distant rice fields, I noticed that all the rice plants had been scorched dry and lay flattened on the ground.
This scene could only be described in one way: a complete loss!
I looked at the scene before me, a surge of anger rising within. Clenching my fists, I exclaimed, "Damn it, I must find that Drought Demon and eliminate it!"
I glanced at Jiang Bao beside me and asked, "Jiang Bao, since you returned, have you found any traces of the Drought Demon?"
Jiang Bao nodded and replied, "After my investigation, I found three suspicious locations. Lu Jie and I are planning to check one of them today. Brother Jiang Ling, do you want to join us?"
I shot Jiang Bao a glare and said, "Isn't that obvious? How could I not go!"
Jiang Bao looked at me with a mischievous grin and said, " Brother Jiang Ling, aren't you going back to school to find your Qu Liang?"
"Get lost!" I kicked Jiang Bao aside as I walked into the house. "Jiang Bao, since it's still daylight and the Drought Demon is suppressed by the sun, let's hurry up and set off!"
I returned to my room and grabbed the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword. Jiang Bao and Lu Jie each had a waist pouch filled with magical tools.
" Brother Jiang Ling, this is for you!" Jiang Bao handed me a backpack. I took it and saw it contained six Money Swords and the sheath for the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword.
"Jiang Bao, you're so thoughtful!" I smiled at him as I sheathed the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword and slung the backpack over my shoulder.
"Let's go!" Once Jiang Bao saw that I was ready, he called out and led us both outside.
