As our group stepped into the funeral home, we noticed five or six people hurriedly exiting. 0

Leading the way was a middle-aged man dressed in a blue Daoist robe. In his left hand, he held a dust whisk, while his right hand clutched a compass, giving him an air of ethereal grace. 0

Behind the blue-robed Daoist were two boys around thirteen or fourteen years old. One boy carried a peach wood sword, while the other held a stack of yellow paper. 0

The boss of the funeral home, Xu Jingfeng, was a man in his forties. He stood beside the blue-robed Daoist with three employees. 0

With a broad smile, Xu Jingfeng looked at the Daoist and flattered him, "Daoist Wang Shenglin, you truly have remarkable skills. Just one talisman has dispelled the eerie atmosphere of my funeral home. It seems that having you here to resolve my issues is certainly going to be effortless!" 0

Wang Shenglin maintained a stoic expression as he gazed at the bagua mirror in his hands, nodding solemnly. "Rest assured, Boss Xu! With my presence, your funeral home will be safe and sound!" 0

In reality, Wang Shenglin was just a mediocre practitioner who often pretended to be more skilled than he was, deceiving wealthy clients. If he ever encountered a genuinely powerful spirit or ghost, he would not hesitate to flee. 0

However, Xu Jingfeng was unaware of Wang Shenglin's true nature; instead, he believed him to be a highly skilled master. 0

Just three minutes earlier, Wang Shenglin had performed a ritual inside the funeral home, mumbling incantations that were incomprehensible to most. He then ignited a talisman, coincidentally coinciding with my intervention that dispelled the funeral home's corpse qi, leading Xu Jingfeng to misunderstand the situation. 0

Wang Shenglin felt puzzled himself; he knew that he hadn't dispelled the corpse qi. Yet he chose not to reveal this and continued to put on an act in front of Xu Jingfeng. 0

Finding an excuse, Wang Shenglin took the compass and headed outside, hoping to use this opportunity to locate the true master who had intervened and seek assistance. 0

As soon as Wang Shenglin stepped out, he encountered us. He glanced at us and subtly made a hand seal over the compass in his hand. 0

I noticed Wang Shenglin's actions; he intended to use the compass to find the person with the highest magical power nearby. 0

However, my round seal had long concealed my magical fluctuations. Anyone whose power did not surpass my master's would be unable to discern my identity. Even with the help of his compass, Wang Shenglin would never uncover it. 0

After Wang Shenglin performed the Hand Seal, the needle of the compass in his hand spun around two or three times before finally pointing at himself. 0

Wang Shenglin looked a bit disappointed at the result on the compass. He raised his head to look at us, arching an eyebrow with a disdainful expression as he asked Xu Jingfeng, "Boss Xu, who are these people? I don't like having too many people around when I'm performing rituals. If something goes wrong, you can't blame me!" 0

Xu Jingfeng recognized Zhang Yang among the crowd and spoke with some difficulty, "Daoist, these are the police responsible for our funeral home case. It might be difficult to get rid of them." 0

"Hmph, you handle it yourself!" Wang Shenglin snorted coldly, strutting out with his two assistants. 0

Xu Jingfeng signaled to his staff to follow behind Wang Shenglin while he approached Zhang Yang with a smile. "Captain Zhang, what brings you here today? Do you have any leads?" 0

Zhang Yang shook his head. "We heard that your funeral home is still disposing of bodies, so we came to investigate the scene again." 0

Xu Jingfeng nodded. "No problem, you're welcome to investigate anytime!" 0

Zhang Yang turned to look at Wang Shenglin in the distance and said unhappily, "Since your funeral home has already reported this, you should trust us police. Why did you bring a Daoist here?" 0

Xu Jingfeng quickly waved his hand. "Captain Zhang, please don't misunderstand! In our line of work, we all have some superstitions. I noticed your investigation wasn't making progress, so I brought in a Daoist to take a look!" 0

"If you think it's unnecessary, I'll have him leave immediately!" 0

"You need to send that Daoist away right now; I've already found someone very capable..." Zhang Yang glanced at me, intending to explain my identity to Xu Jingfeng. 0

I hurried over to interrupt Zhang Yang and gave her a knowing look. Smiling, I said, "Sister Zhang Yang, please don't send that Daoist away just yet. Let's all see how he does things first!" 0

Although Zhang Yang didn't quite understand my reasoning, she chose to trust me upon seeing my expression. 0

Zhang Yang waved her hand at Xu Jingfeng. "I won't interfere with your decision for now, but if anything unexpected happens, you must follow my lead!" 0

After listening, Xu Jingfeng's face broke into a surprised smile. He exchanged a few kind words with Zhang Yang before quickly chasing after Wang Shenglin, who had gone outside. 0

Once Xu Jingfeng had run off, Zhang Yang walked over to me, curiosity evident in her eyes. "Jiang Ling, why didn't you reveal your identity?" 0

I glanced at Wang Shenglin in the distance and smirked. "We just arrived and aren't clear on the situation yet. With this master scouting ahead, we can follow and see what’s going on." 0

We lingered outside the funeral home for over ten minutes when Wang Shenglin approached us with a compass in hand. His dejected expression made me think he was truly clueless; I had been standing right here, and he hadn’t even noticed me. His attitude was also quite unfriendly. 0

Wang Shenglin came up to us and checked the compass again, but the results remained unchanged. He sighed and said, "Could it be that the expert has already left?" 0

"I’ve heard about your situation from Boss Xu. I hope you all can keep your distance while I perform my ritual!" Wang Shenglin shot us a disdainful glance before leading the way into the funeral home. 0

"Damn, he's so arrogant!" Hu Yalong remarked, feeling quite upset at Wang Shenglin's pretentiousness. He turned to me and asked, "Brother Jiang Ling, is this Taoist better than you?" 0

I shook my head with a smirk. "This Taoist is too weak; he probably won't be able to handle whatever is happening inside the funeral home. When he runs into trouble, we can have some fun figuring out how to deal with him!" 0

Hu Yalong and Lan Yue immediately wore mischievous smiles as we brainstormed ways to get back at Wang Shenglin, our ideas growing increasingly wicked. 0

Zhang Yang and the other two police officers stood nearby, trying not to laugh. Finally, Zhang Yang couldn’t hold back any longer; she cleared her throat and said, "You three shouldn't go too far!" 0
