Liu Wanting stared expressionlessly at the eight figures before her and coldly asked, "Have you investigated everything I instructed you to?"
"In response to Second Sister, we have identified the murderer of Old Seven and Old Thirteen!"
"The killer is a woman named Qu Liang, a Ghost Messenger!"
"Qu Liang?!" Liu Wanting murmured, a glint of murderous intent flashing in her eyes. After a moment, she said ominously, "Old Eight, Old Nine! You two go and kill that Ghost Messenger for me!"
"Yes, Second Sister!" The two shadows replied in unison before vanishing in an instant.
Liu Wanting turned to the remaining six shadows and gave them some instructions. They too disappeared without a trace.
"Big Brother, I'm leaving! Once I avenge Zhao Yunshan, I'll come back to accompany you!" Liu Wanting glanced at the grave before her and then vanished as well.
Unbeknownst to Qu Liang, she had already caught Liu Wanting's attention. When she opened her eyes again, she found herself lying on a hospital bed. A scruffy-looking man was peering down at her. This man was my father, Jiang Dongming.
My father smiled at Qu Liang and said, "Young lady, you're awake!"
Seeing a stranger suddenly appear before her, Qu Liang instinctively raised her left hand to protect her chest while clenching her right fist and swinging it toward my father's face.
My father didn't have time to dodge and was struck squarely on the nose by Qu Liang's punch, causing blood to gush out. He touched his nose and squatted down, tears streaming from the pain.
Qu Liang got off the bed, picked up a chair, and warily looked at my father. "Who are you?" she asked.
After managing to stop the bleeding from his nose, my father stood up and said with a hint of sorrow, "Miss, I'm the doctor here. I treated your injuries! Why did you just attack without asking anything?!"
Only then did Qu Liang recall what had happened the previous night. She looked around and confirmed that this was indeed a pharmacy, and the man before her was wearing a white coat.
Qu Liang shyly set down the chair in her hands and smiled, "Uncle, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to!"
"Uncle, have you seen the person who brought me here?"
My dad nodded, "You must be Jiang Ling, right? That brat just dumped you here and ran back to school! By the way, what’s your relationship with Jiang Ling?"
Hearing my dad's words, Qu Liang's heart confirmed that the person who saved her last night was indeed me. Her expression grew complicated; she had previously disagreed with anyone protecting her, but unexpectedly, if it weren't for my intervention last night, she might have already been dead.
Qu Liang absentmindedly replied, "Uncle, I have nothing to do with Jiang Ling! Thank you for treating my injuries; I have to go now!"
With that, Qu Liang dashed out of the pharmacy. My dad watched her leave and stroked his chin, muttering to himself, "Given this situation, there's definitely something going on between that girl and my son!"
I had no idea what had happened in the pharmacy and was completely uninterested in those matters because something significant was occurring in our dormitory.
Just ten minutes ago, two girls had run to the dormitory entrance looking for Hu Yalong and Li Hongze.
When we rushed downstairs to check, we found that one of the girls was Lei Xiangyun, the one whom Li Hongze had carried out during last night's incident. The other girl was He Cai Feng, who had been pulled away by Hu Yalong.
No one had spread rumors about what happened last night; even if they did go out, no one would believe them. Most people treated last night's events as a dream they forgot after waking up.
However, these two girls were different; they couldn't forget their experiences from last night. So they sought out Hu Yalong and Li Hongze to express some things that were on their minds.
Lei Xiangyun looked pure and cute as she shyly gazed at Li Hongze and said, "Thank you for carrying me out last night! I'm Lei Xiangyun; I'd like to get to know you!"
After speaking, Lei Xiangyun lowered her head shyly and extended her hand toward Li Hongze.
"My name is Li Hongze! Nice to meet you!" Li Hongze said with a cheerful smile, extending his hand to shake with Lei Xiangyun.
On the other side, He Cai Feng took out a flashlight and handed it to Hu Yalong. She smiled and said, "Brother Fat, thank you for the flashlight last night! I'm He Cai Feng. If you don't have a girlfriend, how about we date?"
After receiving the flashlight, Hu Yalong paused for a second when he heard He Cai Feng's words. He couldn't believe his ears and asked in disbelief, "What did you just say?!"
He Cai Feng took the initiative to hold Hu Yalong's hand and smiled, "Let's date!"
Hu Yalong nodded vigorously, gripping He Cai Feng's hand tightly. He then tossed the flashlight to me and confidently said, " Brother Jiang Ling, Cai Feng and I are going for a coffee. You can take the flashlight!"
With that, Hu Yalong took He Cai Feng's hand, and the two of them walked away laughing.
I shook my head at Hu Yalong's retreating figure and turned to look at Li Hongze, only to find him still there while the girl named Lei Xiangyun had already left.
I walked over and patted Li Hongze on the shoulder. "Hongze, you're a true bro, unlike Fatty who prioritizes romance over friendship! How about the three of us hit the internet café this weekend?"
Li Hongze shook his head. " Brother Jiang Ling, you and Lan Yue go ahead! I promised Xiangyun that we would study for the college entrance exam together. If I get into the same university as her, she'll date me!"
Li Hongze waved goodbye to me and Lan Yue before running toward the school's study room.
Lan Yue sighed. "Those two are hopeless!"
I nodded in agreement. "No worries! We'll just go to the internet café ourselves!"
After changing clothes in our dormitory, as we stepped out of the school gate, a familiar figure suddenly appeared in front of me, blocking my path. It was Qu Liang!
"Are you Jiang Ling?" Qu Liang asked, looking at me.
I nodded and replied, "I am Jiang Ling. What do you need from me?"
Qu Liang grabbed my hand and pulled me along forcefully, saying, "Come with me, I have something to discuss with you!"
Although I could easily break free from Qu Liang's grip, I noticed her urgency and thought she must really need to talk to me.
I turned back to Lan Yue and said, "Lan Yue, why don't you go ahead? We can go together next time!"
Lan Yue stood there for a good ten seconds before letting out a roar, shouting, "Isn't treating single people like this just asking for lightning to strike?"
After his outburst, Lan Yue ignored the strange looks from passersby and walked back to the dormitory with his head down.
Meanwhile, Qu Liang dragged me into a nearby cold drink shop. We sat at a window seat and ordered two cups of cola.
I took a sip of my cola and said, "Qu Liang, what is it? Just get to the point; I'm busy!"
Qu Liang pulled out a piece of paper from her bag and placed it in front of me. "I know you have some skills, so I want to team up with you for this deal!"
