The drone's feed began to show a lot of static, the interference signals increasing, causing the projected image to become increasingly blurry. As everyone anxiously stared at the screen, the drone's feed suddenly shook violently, as if influenced by some external force, uncontrollably flying forward.
In the projection, Xiao Li's mutated hands stretched out unnaturally long, moving with the agility of tentacles. He seized the drone fiercely, pulling it close to him. His eyes glimmered with a sinister light, and a cold smile curled at the corners of his mouth.
"You pitiful humans," Xiao Li sneered, his voice echoing through the drone's microphone and filling the entire Command Post. "Do you see? This is our power! You cannot resist at all!"
Li Ming watched this scene in shock and anguish. Xiao Li and Xiao Wang had once been his colleagues, but their relationship had been fraught with friction and arguments. Now, seeing them transformed into such monsters filled him with a complex mix of emotions.
Xiao Li continued to taunt, "Give up your foolish resistance! Surrender and join the dark path; it's your only way out! Otherwise, you will only meet a more terrible death!"
His voice was filled with arrogance and disdain, as if everything was under his control. Li Ming gritted his teeth, his anger and sorrow intertwining within him.
"This isn't Xiao Li... this isn't him..." Li Ming murmured to himself, a flicker of determination crossing his eyes.
Xiao Li looked at the drone and let out a cold laugh before violently throwing it to the ground. The drone emitted a piercing sound upon impact, and the image became even more chaotic.
At that moment, Xiao Wang's mutated hooves suddenly lifted and stomped down on the drone. With a loud crash, the drone was crushed to pieces, and the screen instantly turned pitch black.
"Hahaha! Look at you pathetic worms!" Xiao Wang's voice came from the shattered drone, dripping with mockery and contempt. "We possess unimaginable power that you cannot contend with! Surrender now, or you will only die faster!"
Li Ming clenched his fists tightly, filled with rage and pain. The taunts and provocations from Xiao Li and Xiao Wang ignited a fire within him, but he knew this was not the time to be swayed by emotions; he had to remain calm and rational.
"Li Ming, stay calm!" Master Han's voice rang in his ears with unwavering determination. "We cannot be led by our feelings; we must focus on fighting the enemy!"
Suddenly, multiple red dots began to flash on the tactical map, indicating that the Southern Capital's border area was once again under attack by demonic forces. Chen Xiang stared intently at these red dots, his brow furrowed with worry and anger.
"How could this happen... It’s been a week since such a large-scale invasion..." Chen Xiang murmured to himself, his expression darkening.
Zhang Hao immediately took the firearm from a nearby soldier and said swiftly, "I will lead the Human and Cultivator United Forces to the east for support."
Chen Xiang nodded, turning his gaze towards Li Ming and Master Han, seeking their opinions.
Li Ming volunteered, stating firmly, "We'll take responsibility for the main forces in the north. Xiao Wang and Xiao Li... they seem quite formidable. We must stop them."
Master Han nodded, a glimmer of determination in his eyes. "Chen Yao, you go with Li Ming. I will stay here to provide assistance if necessary."
Chen Yao nodded in agreement, a resolute light shining in her eyes. "Understood, Master. We will do our utmost to prevent the invasion of the demon clan."
Chen Xiang took a deep breath and calmly issued orders. "All units, immediately enter combat readiness and prepare for defense and counterattack. We cannot allow the demon clan to breach our defenses."
The soldiers sprang into action, and the atmosphere in the command room grew tense and serious. Li Ming and Chen Yao quickly equipped themselves with weapons, preparing to head to the battlefield in the north.
Zhang Hao tightened his grip on the firearm and said to Li Ming and Chen Yao, "Be careful. This enemy is fiercer than ever before. I hope we all return safely."
Li Ming nodded heavily, a flicker of resolve in his eyes. "Don't worry; we will give it our all."
Chen Xiang watched as the group prepared to depart, silently praying, "Protect this city, protect this world."
Li Ming, Chen Yao, and Zhang Hao swiftly left the command room, leading their respective units toward the battlefield. As they ran, Li Ming and Chen Yao felt their inner fighting spirit surging. They knew this battle would be incredibly tough, but they had to persevere for everything they held dear.
As soon as Li Ming and Chen Yao exited the shelter, several squads of Human Soldiers stood at attention, saluting them in unison. These soldiers were weary and their equipment worn, yet their eyes sparkled with unwavering determination and immense resolve.
"We will follow you into battle!" the soldiers said in unison, their voices filled with grit and confidence.
Li Ming looked at the soldiers, his heart swelling with excitement. He saw the exhaustion etched on each face, yet their eyes remained sharp as blades, filled with the will to fight. These warriors, unafraid of life and death, were determined to protect this world, leaving Li Ming deeply moved and filled with admiration.
Seeing this, Chen Yao stepped forward and instructed the soldiers to stand at attention. She then took several talismans from her sleeve and quickly formed seals. The talismans ignited in her hands, transforming into beams of light that floated toward the soldiers.
"These talismans will enhance your defenses and restore your stamina and injuries," Chen Yao said gently, her gaze filled with encouragement.
The light from the talismans blossomed around the soldiers, and they felt a warm power coursing through their bodies. Fatigue and pain gradually faded away, replaced by immense strength and spirit. Their equipment also became sturdier under the influence of the talismans, gleaming with a metallic shine.
"Thank you, Miss Chen Yao!" the soldiers expressed gratefully, their eyes filled with respect and confidence.
As Li Ming watched the rejuvenated soldiers, his heart brimmed with determination and strength. He knew these warriors were their strongest support; no matter how formidable the enemy might be, they would not falter.
"We will definitely win!" Li Ming declared loudly, his gaze resolute. "No matter how difficult it gets, we will protect this world!"
The soldiers echoed in unison, their morale soaring. They understood that this battle would be incredibly tough, but they possessed unwavering confidence and determination to fight to the end for the sake of protecting this world.
"Let's move out!" Chen Yao raised the talismans in her hand and led the soldiers swiftly toward the front lines.
Li Ming followed closely behind, filled with fighting spirit and resolve. He knew that this battle was far from over; the real challenge was just beginning. No matter how difficult it became, they would rely on each other's strength to fight for everything they cherished.
As they ran through the war-torn streets, the soldiers closely followed Li Ming and Chen Yao, each step filled with determination and power. Regardless of how dangerous it was ahead, they would face death unflinchingly to fight for this world until the very end.
